Common Questions and Answers about Toddler coughing every minute

coughing

Avatar n tn My 2 year old had pneumonia 3 months ago and made a full recovery after heavy duty antibiotics... a week ago he developed a cough that had him coughing about three times in a row every 4 or 5 hours. About 3 days ago he started coughing at night. He would wake up about midnight cough 3 or 4 times hard and repeat about every three hours. Last night he coughed about every 1 to 2 hours and coughed so hard he almost threw up several times.
Avatar n tn My baby has been at 140 every appointment and it's a girl. The bbm is just an old wives tale.
Avatar n tn He awoke at around 2 am and started coughing. I went to his room and he had vomited in his bed. The vomit looked like pretty well digested food. He then vomited the rest of his food about 10 minutes later. The vomiting continued throughout the night in about 15 minute intervals. Subsequent vomiting was primarily dry-heaves which turned to vomiting of yellow/green bile by around 5 am. Every time he vomited you could see his stomach really tighten up.
7732297 tn?1397446837 So my 4yr old has a cold:( she is so congested and coughing and getting the sweats. Ive been giving her cold & flu medicine for the cough & runny nose then tylenol for the fever/sweats but i wanted to know if there were any home remedies that you mamas used to help your babies feel better?
Avatar n tn Oh I'm happy i'm not coughing. Every year during dec/jan I always get a upper resp. infection that leaves me coughing horribly for weeks (even months) and somehow I avoided it this year. My sneezes are big, loud, crazy sneezes, and same with coughing. Never seem to be able to do small, calm, girly sneezes or coughs. I hope I haven't jinxed myself and wake up coughing anyday now, lol....
1905116 tn?1444425264 I love watching One Born Every Minute and have realised that in the UK we also get to see the US version...its really interesting to see the differences in delivery styles. I dont think I have yet seen a US one with the Mum actually arriving at the hospital in labour where in the UK version I dont think I've seen any induced!

Avatar n tn My fiance frequently wakes up choking violently. It lasts sometimes a minute or two, but it feels like forever. It is very scary, he has never seen a doctor, and says it has happened since he was a kid. Sometimes it starts to choke him, and then stops, but usually once it starts, he is struggling for a while just to take a breath. He's left feeling exhausted with a soar throat. What on earth could cause this and what needs to be done about it?
Avatar n tn Yes I agree with your grandson's pediatrician, there has been a lot of stomach bugs going round amongs't children this year .Keep him hydrated with water and pedialite is he coughing ?
Avatar f tn Ive not experienced it myself but my sister and I were only 1.5 years apart and I loved every minute of it. Not sure how stressful we were on my parents and grandparents but it was so much fun growing up! I am pregnant with my first and want to try for our 2nd within the first year also so I would like to know what experienced mums think?
Avatar f tn I am 32+5 and I just came down with a horrible cold from my 3 year old toddler..what is something I can do to get rid of this cold quick..my baby shower is in 2 weeks and I hate being sick..seems like this cold will never end..my nose is runny, I keep coughing, and my throat is starting to hurt from coughing..please help.!!
Avatar n tn His eyes light up the minute he sees our son. I dont think for a minute that he is doing anything wrong intentionally. And I just dont know what else to do. The refusual to go can vary on when it happens. It could be the night before at bedtime, when the phone rings, when we get in the car (even though we may not be going there), when he picks him up from school, if we both attend a function together for him like at school, etc..
Avatar n tn s taking?? Has the doctor ruled out RSV?? My daughters never had it but, his symptoms (coughing for 4 weeks) sounds alot like it. If that's the case he really should be getting breathing treatments, they're much more effective. Were you given med for the cough the first time you took him in?? Could it be an allergic reaction to the meds?? It does take their little bodies to work through viruses longer than us. Ask to make sure your son isn't getting dehydrated.
Avatar f tn Over the past couple of days the runny and stuffy nose symptoms have continued and the coughing is getting worse. The coughing is especially worse during the night. His stools don't look exactly normal either. They have been darkened and sometimes have a really dark reddish tint to them. He also has not been eating as much and as well as he normally was, but he is still drinking as much as usual. I am starting to feel that there might be something a little more serious going on here.
Avatar f tn In the hospitals they changed antibiotics 5 times and did 5 xrays. After 2 weeks she has started coughing and wheezing after running and playing. This has occurred 4 times both indoors and outside. Could she have gotten asthma due to the prolonged lung condition? Is it possible that with all of the antibiotics her lungs were damaged? Should I keep her from getting too worked up and running around for a while in hopes that perhaps her lungs just need some rest?
Avatar f tn but other than that make sure to avoid cold drinks they will irritate your throat try room temperature drinks and uhmm thats all i can tell you i had a bad cough wasnt sick at all just coughed every other second . Or minute and couldnt stop ...
470885 tn?1326329037 I know that this must be because this isn't my first - I have a very busy toddler and I simply don't have the time to savour every minute like I did the first time....plus it's all not "new" anymore. But it hit me the other day: I'm 25 weeks and only have 15 more (or less, depending on when I have the baby) to go. That's not very long, really!!!
