Avatar f tn Sorry posted too soon, Thyroid problems can cause insomnia and weight gain
Avatar f tn Dear All, I did convince my doct or to do a panel test in 2 weeks. My last TSH value this last week was 1.3 however the withdrawl effects from Lorazepam were so hard to endure so I went a few days to my doc when I was feeling very restless and discuss the crossover to Xanax which I used to take it very little after the menopause started a few years ago. She gave the equivalent of Lorazepam to Xanax 0.25 mg 3 times a day. With Lorazepam I was at 1.75mg but suffering from withdrawl.
Avatar n tn can xanax hide thyroid problems or do i have to be in a attack when the blood is drawn for the diff to be noticed
1258539 tn?1293840202 I am in menopause and not taking any supplements. I am taking up to 3.5mg of xanax a day. My mornings are the absolute worst. I have depersonalization feelings. I don't know if this could be caused by the xanax. I need help. I have been taking up to this dose for about 6 months. I am scared and don't know what to do. I do not feel like myself at all. Please someone help!
487969 tn?1249313291 Just wanted you to know that the Medrol (steroid), Naproxan (anti inflammatory) and the xanax (.25 - low dose at night) is working for the carotidynia!!!!! OMG, yesterday and today, I woke with no soreness!!! YIPEE! As for the thyroid, it is swollen every morning and usually goes down by lunch time. I am still very tired and hot feeling has taken over the cold feeling, but hey - my neck is not soooo tight!
Avatar m tn Every morning I wake up and I feel real weak and tired and have no energy, it takes me about a half an hour to get out of bed. I am 54 and take a 0.25mg Xanax before I go to bed. Could this be the cause of my symptoms or could it be something else. I have been taking the Xanax for over two years now and this weak, tied no energy feeling started about six months ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
519035 tn?1348275773 I will assume that you are under the care of a doctor for your thyroid problem and that some sort of plan has been set in motion to resolve that issue. If your panic stems simply (?) from the thyroid problem, then you really shouldn't need Xanax..........education and understanding about what is happening to you and how to deal with it, should be adequate to calm you down.
2159711 tn?1336833090 My thyroid condition is Hypothyroid as of 2005 after having the Radioactive Iodine treatment, and also had a partial hysterectomy ( i have one ovary) that same year. I was prescribed Levothyroxine112 mcg., Tramadol 50 mg 4 x per day for joint pain, Estradiol for hrc, and Zoloft 50 mg for depression . I went to another dr, when I moved this year, and they doubled my Zoloft to 100 mg per day and added Xanax .
974371 tn?1424653129 I have taken Levsin 3 times, 1/2 Zofran 3 times, Omeprazole 20 mg plus my Xanax. I am getting no relief and feeling worse! What the heck is wrong and why don't these meds work? Husband will not take me to the ER again. Can't exist like this every day .
754568 tn?1233700602 ive been on zoloft , lexapro , and xanax . zoloft helps a little , lexapro makes me worse , and xanax just makes me fall asleep . but my question is , i was born with a hole in my neck , doctors dont know what to think about it , see i cant leave my house , so all i do is try to figure out whats wrong with me . i came across a web site about hypothyroidism . i was wondering if this hole in my neck goes to my thyroid gland ? it drains out a clear , stickey substance .
Avatar f tn s best to separate thyroid medication from other meds by at least a couple hours or so, in order to let the thyroid med be better absorbed. Calcium and/or iron supplements should be separated by at least 4 hours from thyroid med. This is particularly important with the synthroid, which should be taken first thing in the morning, with a full cup of water, on an empty stomach, then nothing to eat/drink for at least 30-60 min.
Avatar f tn Is it okay to take Armour thyroid with Xanax? with Advil? with a multi vitamin? with 5 HTP? ( If not, how far apart should the meds be spaced out?) Is it okay to take Xanax with with Advil? with a multi vitamin? with 5 HTP? (If not, how far apart should the meds be spaced out?) I think the Armour has to be spaced out with the multi vitamin but Im not sure about the others...
3125527 tn?1342275373 Why are they using a med to treat Celiacs the best and only treatment is a gluten free diet. Also has anyone done a full thyroid workup-- TSH, Free T3, T4, thyroid antibodies and a thyroid ultrasound? Also since you have Celiacs has anyone tested your B12 level (need to be near 1000-- anything under 500 can cause neurological issues) also your ferritan levels (iron storage-- this needs to be around 50 even though the ranges start at 10 that is way too low.
Avatar f tn Since my anxiety was gone I had no desire to take benzos anymore and at that time I was averaging 2 Xanax bars per day, or 4mg of Xanax total per day average! That is a ton and after I got on Depakote, I had no need to take benzos anymore. Tangerine, maybe Depakote would work for you like it did for me! It saved my life hands down!! Best of luck!
Avatar f tn had to go to the 40 mg caps for some time. Once my thyroid levels began to come in line, I stopped the omeprazole....... now, I take it only when I eat something that causes acid reflux (usually, eating too close to bedtime)...... BTW -- I do hope you aren't treating your thyroid, based only on TSH....... if you could post your most recent thyroid labs, with reference ranges, since these vary from lab to lab, members could help evaluate your situation.
666333 tn?1225312511 I had an ultrasound today that revealed that my thyroid is slightly enlarged (no specification on that). The two blood tests and the breath test revealed normal results, so my doctor (D.O.) has decided to keep an eye on it for now with yearly check ups. But she didn't offer me any solutions for the discomfort I am currently feeling. My throat feels like it is being pressed in upon, the thyroid area aches, and I have trouble swallowing sometimes.
393685 tn?1425812522 Also drug interactions - Acid meds and thyroid - also Xanax. Is there a balance? Could mixing these up be the culpruit? I am trying to find a balance. Diet, exercise and stress relief. Any advice?
680767 tn?1254830575 I really want to get off the Clonazepam because I really know my Anxiety is my Thyroid. But she wants me not to change anything right now being that winter has just started. She really does think I'm crazy. Sorry I really just need to vent right now. Well I think we really need to get it out there that anxiety is a symptom of hypothyroidism, so that the PC's under stand not just to jump to anti anxiety meds with people with hypothyroidism.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, About a month ago I woke up at night with a sensation of my heart stopping and starting again. I went to the ER without needing an ambulance and everything checked out fine. I met with a cardiologist and had an echocardiogram done which came out normal. All EKGs/blood tests done were normal (including thyroid). In spite of that, every 2-3 days I've been getting palpitations.
Avatar f tn 5 for 4 months) and today I started with Xanax 0.25mg 3 times a day. I used to take Xanax before for axiety, small dosage(0.25) when needed but my previous doctor said that Lorazepam was better. I wasn't for though. Does anybody know of any side effects when changing from Lorazepam to Xanax?
953067 tn?1248394508 ve been suffering from anxiety disorders since I was a child, started getting treatment in my late teens but was always surprised that the whole lot of them seem to regard me as the proverbial elephant the blind men are trying to describe. One doctor gets so fixated on my thyroid imbalance that he tells me my symptoms will go away with thyroid treamtment. They don't, he sends me to a psychiatrist who talks to me for 10 minutes, very nice man, puts me on meds for 6 weeks that do nothing.
Avatar f tn On my second follow up with him, he changed my thyroid med to Armour and explained that some thyroid patients had better luck with swelling when using Armour. He changed the xanax to some muscle relaxer (I think it was Zanflex or something like that) and said he thought he felt a nodule now, but wanted to see me back in three weeks before we ordered US. My 3rd week apt was cancelled due to Hurricane Gustav and so I saw him Tuesday.
458072 tn?1291415186 I am taking ativan and atarax for the anxiety,(from the hospital) and also started me on the lexapro. I think it is either my thyroid or adrenals and that is why the ativan and xanax and atarax are not beneficial.
Avatar n tn I don't know if your palpitations started before you were taking Xanax or not, but I also take Xanax and I've noticed that if I take it for more than 2-3 days in a row I will start having palpitations. I've also had a couple of different antidepressants (SSRI's in-particular) cause me to have palpitations.
