Avatar m tn I am a 36 yr old female with chronic leg pain for a year and half. I am b12 deficient with monthly injections and have hypothyroidism. had a herniated disc at the L5/S1. have almost constant pain in the front of both thighs that feels like it at the bone. It is a burning/aching pain that affects my walking. It hurts to sit, stand and walk. Ibuprofen helps a little but not enough. have had physical therapy for disc but that only helped with the back pain and is mostly tolerable now.
533880 tn?1237612452 Did you ever find out what was causing the leg pain, my wife has had severe leg pain that alternates. Currently she is on Diabetic nerve pain but not diabetic to help with they pain. Im no doctor but thinking that my wife has thyroid nueropathy.
Avatar f tn Major symptoms were hair loss, extreme fatigue and exhaustion and leg pain. PCP says that leg pain is NOT coming from thyroid. Levels are normal and would not increase synthroid. Found a doc who switched me to armour. Within a week or so the fatigue and exhaustion improved. In the first couple of weeks on armour leg pain seemed to only come late at night and when I wake up on the morning. Leg pain now seems to linger all day and seems to have gotten worse. Energy level is good.
519035 tn?1348275773 Was your potassium low with your last labs? When my Vit D was low I had bad cramps as you describe. You probably should see your doc again for a full workup ... just to be certain and doe the right thing for it. If it's thyroid related, perhaps you have an underproductive thyroid, but only bloodwork could determine that.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism & Graves disease 5 years ago, but am currently not treated for it. I had a large nodule biopsied 3 years ago (it had been growing) and it came back normal. My levels have not been terrible for the past few years, so there was no reason to treat. I am now having a medical issue that started 5/1/2012 with a very sudden onset, but my endocrinologist does not think it's related.
Avatar f tn as the day progressed it got worse and then in bed last night the other leg started hurting too and I had a shooting pain in the bottom of my foot. I have never ever had leg pain like this before. I also had a loss of appetite yesterday and just didn't feel very good overall. I strongly think it is from the Synthroid. I did not take it this morning. Has anyone else had this type of problem on Synthroid?
Avatar f tn I'd thought the thyroid support supplements that I've been taking for the last 6 weeks had relieved them, but now the spasms are back -even during the day when I'm not sleeping -and while I'm driving!...Tonic water (quinine) helps for a few hours, but they keep coming back! According to recent labs, my electrolyte levels are okay, and I take a quality multivitamin and a calcium/magnesium supplement so cal/mag depletion is unlikely. Anyone?
Avatar f tn Dry hair, depression, brain fog, fatigue, leg pain, foot pain, constipation, GERD, heartburn, chest pain, hives, dry skin? or maybe hyper symptoms such as diarrhea, anxiety, shaky hands, racing heart, pounding in ears or ringing?
Avatar n tn Restless leg feeling also happens to be one of the many possible symptoms of low thyroid. Do you have any other possible thyroid symptoms like fatigue, over weight, brain 'fog', digestive issues? If yes get a thyroid test. Many have it but don't know it.
Avatar m tn Leg pain may be seen in overactive or underactive thyroid conditions, and it typically takes 2-4 months after thyroid is regulated to see an improvement. However, the leg pain may be unrelated to the thyroid condition and followup with her doctor is recommended.
Avatar f tn I have over the last 6 months been having a problem with leg pain. At first I thought it was because I was in martial arts so I blew it off. I quit martial arts 2 months ago. The pain in my legs has gotten worse. Mainly the left leg is affected, although both have a dull pain. Recently I noticed some "shrinking" in my left leg calf muscle. I am tired an my left leg is weak. Both legs twitch. Sometimes the twitching is in my face and even tongue. I'm not stressed.
658190 tn?1224625339 Calcium and vitamin D!!!! Leg pain and numbness is a major warning sign of calcium deficiency which happens after thyroid surgery (because of the parathyroids). You need to be taking calcium with vitamin D every day (spaced 4 hours away from your Synthroid). My doctor has me on 3x the RDA. Call your doctor's office ASAP and have them run calcium levels.
1445110 tn?1388209711 I know that it is common for people with hypothyroidism to complain of pain in joints and legs. I have been hypo for many years. I have suddenly started having pitted edema in my lower legs and pain. I have had some pain before from the hypo but this is getting really bad. I also have the abdominal swelling but it has also gotten worse. I ended up in ER and had to have IV lasix to run the fluid out. All blood test concerning heart , liver , panceras, and kidneys were fine.
Avatar f tn FT3 and FT4 look really good. FT4 is 56% of range, and FT3 is 62%. TSH is still a little on the high side. That could mean that her levels are not quite high enough for her yet, and it could indicate a pituitary issue. TSH is the least important of the tests. How is she feeling? Are symptoms going away?

Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with graves disease in 2002, but my thyroid levels have balanced out and and I am no longer taking PCU. I have been suffering from leg pain mainly right leg, but will sometimes switch to left leg or both at the same time. The leg pain usually occurs out of no where, the cold only makes it worst. The pain is often so painful that it is unbearable to walk. I remember have this leg pain as far back as 7yrs old.
Avatar f tn I m above 70kg n having thyroid , Thyroid is normal . I miss my period .... but my leg are paining very badly, is it a sign of pregnancy?
136956 tn?1688675680 For 3 yrs every time I went in for my leg/thigh pain they always assumed could be Vit D, or thyroid related. (I had a TT ) Yes I was very low on Vit D & my thyroid levels were off or sometimes they would just say I wish I had an answer for you, but they never mentioned Fibro which I was diagnosed with about 4 yrs earlier. I have to admit, BUT JUST ME, but I am skeptical of the fibro diagnosis for me.
1202943 tn?1347840652 I've been having muscle cramping for the last 5 weeks, but in the last week they have gotten worse. Several times leaving me rolling on the ground in tears. I've been getting them often (3-5 times a day) in my neck, shoulders, hips, thighs, chest, & butt. The worst is in the hip/butt area. I took a walk on Monday because I was feeling so achy from previous cramps and I got a really bad one in that area just from walking. It still hurts to sit down. What is going on with me?
