Avatar n tn if thyroid does not show mass but shows inhomogeneous echogenicity, what would that indicate?
Avatar n tn I have elevated Thyroglobulin AB (104) but normal range TPO levels. My thryoid scan shows "upper limits of normal size" with "echogenicity slightly inhomogenous." I've read that this is typical of Hashimoto's but GP denies this b/c TPO level is 10.62 (normal range <34). My ultrasound shows inhomogenous echogenicity. What does this indicate? I have been hypothyroid for 4 years and am currently treated. I have lupus, as well as a high-risk factor for cancer.
429778 tn?1205273336 4 x 1.7 cm. The gland appears diffusely enlarged with some inhomogeneous echogenicity throughout both lobes. Right lobe larger than than left. There is a small 1.2 x 0.7 x 1.0 cm hypoechoic lesion in left lobe of thyroid gland. This does have some vascularity in it and the etiology is to be determined. Both inflammatory as well as neoplastic processes would be a consideration. Impression: 1. A 1.2 cm hypoecoic nodule in the left lobe of the thyroid gland, etiology of which is to be determined.
Avatar f tn I knew the technician so I asked if there was anything else they could see and was told there was nothing else, no lumps, swollen nodes, etc. Can you have an inhomogeneous thyroid with nothing else presenting? Also, if you can have an inhomogeneous thyroid, can you have this with no cancer going on or would it always indicate cancer?
Avatar f tn what this means. The gland is of diffusely inhomogeneous echogenicity bilaterally. The report also said a discrete solid nodule in left lobe measuring 2.7 cm in maximun diameter . Also a small echogenic nodule is also visible in the right lobe inferiorly measuring 4 mm in diameter. aspiration needle biopsy of the dominant left lobe nodule .
751942 tn?1238603875 7 in length transverse dimension respectively with mild heterogeneous echogenicity about the thyroid gland suggestive of multinodular goiter. There is a hypoechoic area within the mid portion of left lobe measuring 2.3 cm in greatest dimension. Nuclear scan recommended." I took the results to my General Surgeon, who had previously treated me for an ulcer .... he said to see a thyroid specialist. I have an Endo appt. on Feb 4. I guess my question is : What does all of this mean?
Avatar m tn the scan showed mildly enlarged thyroid gland with increased and inhomogeneous tracer uptake indicate multiple small hyper-functioning nodules
Avatar f tn Small thyroid gland. Inhomogeneous thyroid architecture.
Avatar n tn my results were right lobe 5.4x2.0x1.5cm with inhomogeneous echopattern, small complex cyst in lower pole 0.9cm,cyst 0.5cm poterior shadowing in the mid area and a small low echogenic solid focus 0.7cm sited in upper pole. left lobe has inhomegeneous echopattern multinodular goiter, some cystic degeneration in one nodule and degenerative calcification in another nodule. what do these results mean? is there any cause for concern?
Avatar f tn Generalized thyroid hyperemia which can be associated with thyroiditis. No discrete thyroid lesions identified. Two small hypo echoic solid nodules inferior to the lower pole of the left thyroid lobe with differentials including a small cervical lymph nodes. One of these could also reflect a small parathyroid gland.
1077688 tn?1255887319 Inhomogeneous exhotexture to the thyroid gland with multiple nodules. I have had a significant amount of pain that is intermittent, and radiates to my jaw and ear. A persistent dry cough with intermittent hoarseness. Again...thank you for your time!!
Avatar f tn I am an LPN and I remember this in clinicals as possible Hashimotos Thyroiditis. But I dont remember what that disease has to do with the thyroid. Is this cancer or should I have it removed. I dont see my doctor until Jan. Can I wait that long.
Avatar f tn Markedly inhomogeneous and slightly enlarged thyroid gland with a solid nodule measuring 1.9 cm in the lower pole of the left lobe. Biopsy under ultrasound guidance recommended. Does my sonogram pathology seem to point to cancer? I've researched the jargon via the internet and it's not clear as to what everything means. Please help me understand. Thanks so much!
Avatar f tn 3 isthmus within normal limits at 2 mm. Mildly heterogenous thyroid echogenicity with subjectively normal vascularity.15 x 14x11 mm mixed echogenic left thyroid lesion, likely with internal calcification.no regional adenopathy. Do you feel this could be cancerous.
Avatar f tn Hello. This is a first time I've ever joined a blog. I posted this entry in the wrong place first time around so here it goes again! Does anyone know the significance of a 9mm hypoechoic thyroid mass with peripheral vascularity. Also I have a small 5mm mass described as "inhomogeneous" with peripheral vascularity as well. I have a couple of very small cycsts as well. From what I know, They cysts aren't as concerning as the solid masses. Anyone have any thoughts?
Avatar n tn I have been given results of my thyroid ultrasound and I have a heterogeneous thyroid gland with a dominant nodule in the left lower pole measuring 2.0cm and non specific in appearance. What followup tests are recommended for a test result of this type?
Avatar f tn 7 cm the thyroids echo texture is inhomogeneous with scarring with mild vascularity no well defined nods noted lateral to the left lobe there is a lymph node 2.5*0.5*0.7 cm inferior to the lobe a lymph node is seen 1. 5*0.8*0.9 cm this one which doc isn't doing anthing Real time transverse and sagittal images of the thyroid were obtained. Findings: The and the right lobe of the thyroid measures 6.5 x 2.1 x 1.8 cm and the left lobe 5.5 x 2.0 x 1.8 cm.
Avatar f tn I have the results of a thyroid sonogram. Inhomogeneous thyroid gland with an enlarged right lobe measures 4.1 cm long x 1.2 cm aprox. x 1.5 cm transversed. What that means? Is this cancer or something that I had to care?
17020225 tn?1455749597 2-cm. There is heterogeneous echogenicity throughout the left lobe with no well defined cyst or nodule.
607566 tn?1221252380 m just wandering if I go with doing nothing or do I get another opinion. When I asked him what the inhomogeneous glands bilaterally meant he said its just not uniform, but couldn't tell me why it was like this..... I don't even know what bilateral glands thier talking about, I'm so confused. Is this a thyroid that should come out or do I just assume its all good?
