Avatar f tn I had an ultrasound ordered by my endocrinologist and we found 8 nodules on my left thyroid and 3 of them big the biggest size is 2.19 X 2.80 X 2.13 with calcifications. on my left thyroid there are 6 nodules, 2 of them big and the biggest size is 1.81 X1.66 X1.44 cm. My doctor asked me to do an ultrasound with guided biopsy. I have 14 nodules and the pathologist got a sample on the biggest nodules on my right thyroid lobe. the results we benign.
Avatar f tn I had a fairly easy pregnancy minus the diabetes and high blood pressure both that I was diagnosed with before pregnancy along with the thyroid problem. Just stick to your medication and everything will be fine.
Avatar n tn Thank you for the reply. As I said in my original post, I have no history of diabetes, kidney or thyroid issues. All have been recently tested. Do you have any other advice?
Avatar f tn I say had because I have since had my Thyroid removed. When I experienced the hyperactive thyroid I could eat more and did not gain weight but lost it like yourself. Once you get you thyroid regulated you cannot keep eating the way you did because you will gain weight, just like any other person who eats more than necessary. Keep taking the medication-even if you think it is a good way to easily lose weight--if you don't you could get very serious complications.
Avatar n tn is essential to balance blood sugar - deficiency is strongly linked to hypoglycemia, insulin resistance, pre diabetes and diabetes; a common deficiency symptom with a thyroid imbalance (notably hypothyroidism); causes high blood pressure. Avatar f tn Okay, I was wondering because a friend of mine has shown symptoms of hyperthyroidism, after I had done some research, and I plan on urging them to get this checked out. I also know that this person's father has pancreatitis. I read that thyroid disorders can be hereditary. Do you think that this has anything to do with the possible hyperthyroidism, the association between pancreatitis and thyroid disorders? I can't find much about it. And are thyroid disorders linked with diabetes?
Avatar f tn Hello Everyone, I am an adult 21 year old female and have been dealing with frustrating symptoms causing insomnia as they happen mostly at night and on occasion during the day. I have been feeling constantly lightheaded, nauseous, trembling along with frequent tingling pains throughout my body and frequent urination. I have done tests before and normal and can’t accept the answers because my symptoms won’t go away. I am concerned. I also have hypothyroidism and a family history of Diabetes.
Avatar m tn I know little about pre-diabetes, but I don't think the one test is adequate to rule out the condition. For example, I ran across this while doing some reading. How is the A1C test used to diagnose type 2 diabetes and prediabetes? The A1C test can be used to diagnose type 2 diabetes and prediabetes alone or in combination with other diabetes tests.
Avatar n tn Do you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes? Some diabetes related conditions can cause hair loss like thyroid disease or PCOS. Some medications for high blood pressure may also. I also understand that some folks with a chronic illness may shed hair indefinitely. But I personally have never heard of insulin being the cause. Maybe someone else out there knows more and will post a comment.
Avatar n tn I believe that my Aunt has Diabetes and a thyroid condition but i am not sure exactly what. My doctor I have been seeing doesnt think I have a thyroid condition and thinks I could have pre type 2 diabetes or full on type 2 diabetes. My bloodwork can be seen here ... http://www.flickr.com/photos/david2882/sets/72157634927354805/ ... Hope someone can help shed some light on this.. Looking for more opinions and answers I just want to feel healthy again...
214105 tn?1265935159 Hello, My uncle who is nearly 80 years old has diabetes and is also suffering from severe constipation. Are there foods / remedies that would help him without interfering with the diabetes?
Avatar f tn 300mg for 4 years he monitored it , I thought I was being treated for type 2 diabetes heading for insulin shots, and low thyroid, I did not give consent or know what he was doing, I now have had 2 Thyroid Storms blood pressure 200/100 with chest pain, pressure breathing difiulties overall pain. In ER twice doped up with Prapanolol and Lisnopril to block effects. No thyroid medication for one week, took 3 125mg does and into the ER. Now no thyroid for 6 weeks then labs.
Avatar f tn Please post your most recent thyroid related test results. You should be getting testing regularly for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH. Tirosint is a T4 only medication, but since T4 must be converted to T3 prior to use, if one is converting adequately, it helps both T3 and T4. You can only tell if your conversion is normal if you're getting tested for both Free T3 and Free T4. Once you post those results, with reference ranges, we can tell whether you need to push for T3 medication or not.
Avatar f tn Diabetes can definitely be related to thyroid problems--particularly autoimmune thyroid problems and Type I diabetes problems have been linked, as well as Type II diabetes and hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid, which is what you're seeing). I don't know that diabetes is ever reversible, and from what I understand--and depending on your particular case; i.e., what type of diabetes you have--the hypothyroidism is a result of having diabetes, not the other way around.
Avatar n tn t limit yourself to a pediatric endo - most of them are dealing with pediatric diabetes. Call and find a good thyroid specialist endo then talk to the nurse (a secret to getting around the receptionist) about your daughter's condition - that may get you in faster. Starting her on Synthroid isn't a bad idea now but she needs long-term followup with an endo.
Avatar n tn Hello, I can appreciate your concerns for your sister. I'm not a medical professional, just a parent of a kid with diabetes. Without knowing the specifics of the problems, it's hard to say how connected they are. It's hard to believe that after only two months that there can be any significant damage to kidneys or thyroids that would shorten life span.
1365078 tn?1284494484 I was tested (fasting blood) for thyroid, RI, fibromygalia, mono, diabetes, etc. Possible Edema, cushings or thyroid, diabetes - please help me to talk to my DR - I don't know what all of this means as it looks to be in the normal ranges. I had two tests for Thyroid (about 6 weeks apart). I don't know that if along with my symptoms, family history and these results if it is even worth talking to a doctor.
Avatar f tn I have recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto's. I had an episode of hyperthyroidism that was terrible. Now my levels have returned to normal, but I am having heart palpitations and pressure in my throat. I am also having oral thrush that just keeps returning. Has anyone else had oral thrush with Hashimoto's?
Avatar f tn I took a fasting Glucose test that came up at 100 so now they say I might be pre-diabetic. But one poster here mentioned something about Thyroid and to tell your doctor if you have a thyroid condition. Well last year I was diagnosed with Hypo-thyrodism which means my thyroid doesn't produce enough of the Thyroid hormone. And I also know that when I had the Glucose test my thyroid levels may have been off because my doctor just adjusted my medication.
258639 tn?1239125456 Just a couple of thoughts for you. When you are on thyroid meds,, a TSH below .3 doesn't mean you are actually hyper, if you do not have hyper symptoms along with it. Doctors are cautious about a TSH in the lower end of its range and below, in order to avoid hyper symptoms. Rather than rely on patients accurately describing symptoms and responding accordingly, many doctors rely instead on TSH. Many members here have their TSH suppressed below the .3 level, in order to feel well.
Avatar f tn Hi! Yes I'm getting a diabetes test here soon. My thyroid came back normal when I did testing a week ago. Thank you very much!
1797771 tn?1315750925 I used to inline skate 14 miles, 3 times a week and belly dance 2-3 times a week, (sometimes more if we were performing.) I could never lose those proverbial 10 pounds and docs just told me I had hit my plateau. When I stopped doing this much, within 6 months, I had gained 40 pounds. Docs then just told me I was getting older and, 'nesting.' Last year, I was finally diagnosed with Hashi's first, then cancer, and I had my thyroid removed in Nov of last year.
Avatar n tn I have had Hypothyroidism for about 20 years now and have had Diabetes for 5 years. My last thyroid test result was 10.5 and My levolthyroxine was raised from 125mcg to 150mcg two weeks ago. My sugar levels have been up and down. I have a headache and feel nauseated all the time. Can you please give me some insight on what is going on with me please?
