393685 tn?1425812522 With Adrenal disfunction and thyroid disease almost going hand in hand - I wanted to ask members here on thyroid if they have some resource information and proper labs to get a HEALTH PAGE started over on Adrenals. If you feel you do not want to post your information here in this thread and want to PM me - please do so. I am trying to get this rolling over there so the Adrenal forum can have as great of a resource base as we do here on thyroid.
1139187 tn?1355706647 according to Holtorf, if your sex hormone binding globulin is below 70 it indicates that the thyroid hormones are not getting into your cells for some reason. IN other words, in spite of how much thyroid meds you are taking , you are still low on thyroid hormones within the cells. Someone sent this to me today. Are we suppose to be getting checked for this?
Avatar n tn It is a disease in which the autoimmune system produces antibodies that attack the thyroid glands continuously until the glands are destroyed. This can occur over a number of years. Along the way the capacity of the thyroid glands gradually declines, requiring increasing amounts of replacement thyroid meds to offset the loss of natural production. It is the most common cause for hypothyroidism. If you want more detail, here is a good link. http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar m tn Cycles of doxy and cats claw = treatment! Re hashimoto's -- there can be some connection between Lyme and thyroid disorders, but I don't know much more than that about it. I recently was put on thyroid supps and they are fab. Naltrexone for thyroid? Wiki says: "Naltrexone is an opioid receptor antagonist used primarily in the management of alcohol dependence and opioid dependence." Maybe there is a secondary usage for it that I didn't see.
Avatar f tn Hi All, If you are pre-tx or post-tx and suffering from fatigue then there is a good chance that your adrenals are struggling because of your chronic infection. This is even more likely if you have had HCV for a long time, as I did. I hope I am now on the way to SVR but it is too early to know, anyway my fatigue did not go away after tx. I came to the knowledge of adrenal stress via looking at the thyroid hormone deficiency that I had.

640719 tn?1277140030 As far as I have been told by my Endo, Hashimoto's (When your immune system does not recognize your thyroid, it attacks it and renders it unproductive, or over time destroying it) placing you in an Underactive Thyroid state, I do not know if Graves is an immune condition, I just thought it was an extreme level of Overactive Thyroid, meaning your thyroid would be secreting to much hormone into your system, If any one out there with Graves would like to add, feel free, I know thyroid is heredi
1509359 tn?1289980237 It is getting to be a pain in the butt. I have had my thyroid checked and my medication for that is correct and I just got my blood pressure checked and they said it was excellent. So I have no idea what it could be. Any Ideas?

1418727 tn?1282487078 I also have Hashimoto's. I am TTC as well. I found out I was pregnant in March but miscarried. The good news is it wasn't because of my Thyroid. You do need to go on medication to regulate it though. Unregulated Thyroid problems will cause infertility and miscarriage. You need to get on some meds to help regulate it and then you should be able to carry a child. Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn I also had a cough that is going away for about 2 weeks now which produced clear sputum at times. I also had my thyroid removed about 2 years ago. The lumps are both movable and not painful. Can this be some sort of cancer. Did anyone ever experience anything like this? Im a little concerned, I set up an appointment with the ENT that peformed my thyroid surgery. Can these lumps be lymph nodes?
Avatar m tn Hi there. This is not a doctor forum, but a patient forum. MagiePieAnne's daughter was born without a thyroid. I will alert her to this message. In the meantime, please get a thyroid ultrasound of your baby and make sure to get a full workup on the pituitary gland. This could be pituitary or a thyroid issue. Also, the FreeT3 and FReeT4 tests are direct measurements of thyroid hormone. TSH is actually a pituitary hormone, the message that the pituitary gland sends to the thyroid.

Avatar f tn Low b12 can go along with thyroid disease. Both diseases can be autoimmune. If you have Pernicious Anemia, you will be unable to absorb enough b12 through your stomach/intestines. B12 shots are very effective and also sublingual b12 can also raise the levels quickly. Low b12 can cause many symptoms, even in the low normal range. Other countries (Japan) use about 500 as the lower limit. My levels are 899! I take sublingual b12.
