Avatar m tn could someone explain to me what the findings are saying:The right lobe of the thyroid gland measures 3.9x1.5x1.9 cm and the left lobes of the thyroid measures 4.3x1.8x1.9 cm. the isthmus measures 0.3cm. there is heterogeneity of both lobes of the thyroid gland. there is evidence of a hypoechoic 0.58x0.66x0.5 cm right thyrodi nodule which is nonvascular. impression there is heterogeneity of both lobes of the thyroid gland and finding consistent with a 6.6 mm right thyroid nodule.
Avatar f tn I just rec'd my ultrasound results for my thyroid and was wondering if anyone can interpret. I am concerned about the nodule and size of thyroid especially. My TSH, T3 and 4 were WNL. Thanks in advance. Transverse and longitudinal real-time images of the tyroid are obtained revealing the right and left lobes of the thyroid to measure 7.5 x 1.7 x 2.4 cm and 6.3 x 1.5 x 1.9cm. The tyroid isthmus measures 4 mm. Thyroid gland is heteogeneous in echogenicity.
Avatar n tn Would test TSH - if normal (likley) - next step is FNA. The scan is not likely to add much to the evaluation (unless TSH is low). Would also test thyroid antibodies as the family history and ultrasound description (non-homogeneity) suggests autoimmune thyroid disease (ie, Hashimoto's). The left 2.5cm nodule will likely need an FNA biopsy -- but only 5-10% of nodules are cancer.
Avatar f tn Hello, In 2009 my ultrasound showed a multinodular goiter and there was no follow-up. I just had another ultrasound and the results are very different and making me quite nervous. I can't see my doctor until Wednesday and was hoping someone could help me out in understanding them. The right lobe of the thyroid measures 5.00 cm x 1.90 cm x 1.80 cm. The left lobe of the thyroid measures 4.60 cm x 1.50 cm x 1.20 cm. The isthmus is 0.30 cm thick. Glandular echotexture is normal.
Avatar f tn The lymph ones are visually tested during ultrasound; their condition has to be recorded in thyroid ultrasound report, however not many imaging labs doing that.
667562 tn?1228262025 Ultrasound and barium swallow test. The results showed I have several nodules on my thyroid and some in my esophagus. He is sending me to an EN Dr and Gastro Dr. I am concerned with the nodules being in my esophagus. Could this be cancer and it has spread to my esophagus? Someone please give me some insight.
Avatar n tn I recently had a thyroid ultrasound and not sure what the results mean. It indicates that small lobulated heterogeneous right lobe, measuring 2.7 x 1.9 x 1.6 cm with hypoechoic solid nodules 7 x 6 x 5 mm at the midpole and 1.5 x 0.9 x .06 cm at the lower pole. Left lobe is normal in size with heterogeneous echo pattern measuring 3.9 x 1.6 x 1.
Avatar f tn Okay this is what my ultrasound report says: Right lobe 4.7x1.2x1.5cm Left lobe 4.5x1.4x1.8cm Echo texture in right lobe is homogeneous. Heterogeneous nodule in the mid zone of the left lobe measures 1.7x1.3x1.5cm. This is fairly well circumscribed. Do not see evidence of acoustical shadowing. In the inferior polk of the left lobe, there is a well circumscribed hypoechoic nodule measuring 1.3cm in greatest diameter. No acoustical shadowing.
1088897 tn?1257397891 Right Thyroid Lobe: 5.2 x 1.6 x 1.3 cm. Left Thyroid Lobe: 4.6 x 1.8x 1.1 cm. Isthmus: 2 mm. "The thyroid gland is in the upper limits of normal for size and diffusley heterogenous in echotexture. No focal lesions are noted. No other sonographic abnormalities are seen.
Avatar n tn I had an ultrasound of my thyroid and it came back as the right lobe being 6.9 x 1.6 x 2.2 cm and the left lobe 5 x 1.5 x 1.8cm and isthmus 8mm in thickness. I have five subcentimeter nodules or cyst also. 3 of them our new since 2006. My throat always hurts and I have a pain in my right ear. All my levels are normal but the doctor doesnt' want to do anything about the other stuff. Does this sound normal? I am a 27 year old female. Also I am tired all the time.
Avatar f tn My ultrasound results were:The thyroid is diffusely heterogeneous in echotexture with the right thyroid lobe measuring 4.4 cm in length x 1.5 cm AP x 1.3 cm in width and the left thyroid lobe measuring 4.6 x 1.5 x 1.6 cm respectively. No focal lesions are identified. The isthmus is mildly thickened and measures 3 mm AP. The thyroid gland is mildly hyperemic. My TSH was .38 then three weeks later it was 4.45. (Normals .34-4.82) This is all while on levothyroxine.
