479216 tn?1208112561 If you say you do not have a thyroid and have not maintained your medication properly as time goes on you will not feel well . It takes some dedication to taking your meds and a watchful eye on blood tests to get you to a normal level in clinical thyroid function. You must become dedicated on taking your medication daily and follow lab results closely to maintain a symptom free condition.
Avatar m tn My problems began about 3 months ago with severe pain in my thyroid(right side). Ultrasound and CT scan found small nodules on both sides. Biopsies were negative. ENT had prescribed prednisone and a strong antibiotic which relieved the pain. TSH reading was 0.109, T3-139,T4-1.66. I now have pain on the left thyroid. ENT suggested waiting a year and doing another ultrasound. I would be ok with that if it weren't for the pain and what appears to be a new nodule on the left side.
Avatar f tn I am taking all of the necessary tests now to be a candidate for a total thyroidectomy. All nodules are benign. Is it normal to feel pain with an enlarged thyroid? I always have this full feeling in my throat and it's very tender. Eating sometimes is a challenge. Sleeping is a nightmare! I can not get comfortable enough to sleep well. And if i talk for long periods at a time it hurts. I have one more scan to take before my head and neck surgeon gives his opinion.
Avatar f tn I have hashimotos, i have constant neck arm head and eye pain it is now traveling down my spine, i try to do yoga poses to open up the thyroid area but i feel like im choking.
Avatar n tn The high TSH can cause some thyroid swelling - from a thyroid stanpoint there is not much more to do besides getting the TSH normalized.
Avatar m tn Hi there, I agree with Barb. You should call him and schedule a time to have blood work done again as soon as possible. Don't ignore chest pain! If you have thyroid nodules, ask him about those and how those can possibly effect hyper/hypo symptoms The nodules should not go unnoticed. Sometimes they can be nothing, and sometimes they can cause your hyper symptoms. Did he say why the thyroid uptake scan didn't work? Could you do another one? I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn it is very uncomfortable and i can certainly wait it out for another week or so to see if the pain will go away. it is not a constant pain, however, when i feel the pain, it radiates. Does it sound like the thyroid or something else?
Avatar n tn it is possible if large nodule is pressing against the nerve
161647 tn?1280608163 I also think leg pain can be related to thyroid issues. I'm hoping others more informed on this forum will weigh in.
Avatar m tn My daughter is experiencing extreme joint pain taking synthroid plus pain reliever. The pain reliever is not helping ,waking up with the same pain etc .Any help out there?
Avatar n tn Pain in the joints sounds as though it might be an arthritic issue unrelated to your thyroid issues or thyroid medications. Before this joint pain gets any worse it might be advisable to get a rheumatologist on the case, or at least consult another general practicioner or internist. Do you take any anti-inflammatory over the counter medications for the pain? Of course you should consult your doctor about this first.
Avatar n tn I researched it a little on-line and I came up with the same answer... thyroid. Both of my sisters suffer from thyroid problems so I thought that it could be that. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said "nothings wrong with you" he said he has checked my thyroid in the past and it showed up fine in the blood test also no swelling or redness in my wrist although he did not do a x-ray or anything. So I went home and then what do you know, this morning I woke up in severe pain.
Avatar m tn I have currently been off the thyroid medicine for almost 5 months. My thyroid when i went off the medicine was 1.25 or close to that. My tyroid is now at .7. My arms and upper shoulders are aching again. When I take the tapazole the pain in my arms and shoulders go away. My doctor says that i am in the normal range. I do not feel good very tired, can't sleep, when i sleep it is three to four hours at a time and my body just aches and is fatigued.
1503643 tn?1311518238 yes...post thyroid cancer(papillary with a follicular variant - metastasized to lymph nodes). Now it looks like I may have lymphoma...the jury is still out on that one. I think it's still thyroid.
1099201 tn?1338180918 s until I had an ultrasound of my thyroid (my sister had thyroid cancer.) I had no neck pain but sometimes felt a fullness when I swallowed. I would bring it up to your Endo and also have an ultrasound done if you haven't already. Best of luck to you!

Avatar n tn I am curious as to your knowledge of thyroid cancer and head pressure. My husband has both. We do not know if they are related or not. However, as his antiglobiglin levels increase, so has his head pain. Which could be PCS as he was in an accident 5 years ago and was out cold with a severe concussion. He could have two different issues.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am a 48 year old woman who was diagonosed with Underactive Thyroid three years ago (although I know I had it for some time previous to this). I have always been very active. Avatar n tn Has anyone experienced joint pain relief from taking thyroid medication? I had an active auto immune disease that is no longer active, but still have joint pain. I am also recovering from drug and alcohol addiction and am scared to take the medication. I tried it once and felt like my heart was racing, very thirst, and very uncomfortable. It was a bad experience. My doctor told me to half the dose, but I was to scared to try it again.
Avatar f tn I have an appt on Dec 11 so will get all my numbers then and post them. The 95 ferritin is before phlebotomy and it will be there again in about 2 months time. I don't know why it is higher than my Tsat%-it's been that way for the last year-maybe arthritis or thyroid?-not sure if thyroid problems increase the ferritin.
Avatar f tn This is my first post and I am writing with alot of concern. My issue started 2 weeks ago when I had severe pain in left arm and breast, mostly in the chest bone. It was extremely painful and I had to visit ER. Doctor said I am having muscular pain and it should get better with rest and medication. It got better for sometime but started again. Now the situation is that one day I have pain in my arm, neck, upper back, shoulder and breast on the right side and next day on the left side.
Avatar f tn I am on a med for thyroid, called levothyroxine 50 mcg. I have had nothing but pain since I started taking it...The top of my foot has pain constantly and both thumbs in the fatty part toward my wrist. Now I have shoulder pain radiating down my arm and can hardly sleep at night. Tylonol doesn't touch it... Is it due to my thyroid? What is going on....my doctor seems unconcerned. says my foot was tendiitious....My fingers also hurt and thought that to be artritius but maybe not.
Avatar f tn Over the last 3 weeks I've been experiencing a "lump" like feeling in my throat, slight hoarseness, pain in my ears, and most recently pain on my trachea. I've been on 2 different Antibiotics, Prednisone, and Prilosec since these symptoms appeared. The Prednisone worked wonders but, 2 days after I finished it, the symptoms returned. The weirdest thing about it is it's not like I've been down and out sick. The trachea pain is what has me really worried.
1378884 tn?1315505845 I also take Vit D however not as faithfully as my thyroid meds. Any ideas? Yes, I broke both knees in the past but this pain is different.
Avatar f tn Your not taking chloesterol medication, are you? Have you had any tests run on your thyroid?
