Avatar f tn If you have had RAI that many times and you are on no medication and your bloods are good , then the RAI you did have has basically got your thyroid into controlling the right amount of thyroid medication and your thyroid still has function. The RAI has basically put a 'brake' on your hyperthyroidism. This doesnt mean to say that the thyroid wont fire up again (which I hope it doesnt) but the same happened to my sister who has Graves.
Avatar m tn After I my thryoid totally removed (along with one parathyroid) and had I 131 treatment in Sept of last year, the doctor put me on 5000 units of Vitamin D 2000mg of Vitamin C per day. Is this replacing something that the parathyroid or thyroid was producing. My wife says that 5000 units of Vit. D is considered an overdose. Is anyone else doing this kind of thing?
Avatar n tn Boy Oh Boy...I just want to say that I was thinking of you. I can't be much help on your questions.. I imagine anything that stresses your body out could cause a relapse, including an overdose of your thyroid hormone, but this would be a simple guess on my part. It's a wonder your heart was not strained. By the sounds of it, the medication took you from Hypo to Hyper, instead of the level you should have been. Thank God your ok.
Avatar n tn What are your current thyroid hormone levels? Be sure to post reference ranges with results, since ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report. You should be getting tested periodically for TSH, Free T3 and Free T4. Do you have other symptoms of over medication, such as weight loss, diarrhea, tremors, etc. Do you have Hashimoto's?
Avatar n tn So it has nothing to do with my Thyroid? (it does work perfectly as mentioned) Could it be a throat infection / virus?
Avatar n tn What are your current thyroid hormone levels? You should be getting tested before each med increase, for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH. Please post the results of your latest tests, along with reference ranges, with vary lab to lab so we can better assess you situation. Magnesium and other supplements can be taken, as long as they are taken, at least, 4 hours away from thyroid medication. Once we see what your actual levels are, we'll have a better idea of what's going on.
Avatar m tn Hi. I've been on these boards a long time. My last failed treatment had to fail because about 9 weeks into the treatment, I developed retinal hemmorhaging. My husband (we've divorced now, but not because of this). He had to do my shot that night into the back of the forearm because I felt so awful. As he prepared the medication, I had to keep correcting what he was doing.
Avatar m tn Can someone give me either the symptoms or the timeline for an Ibuprofen overdose? And what's going to happen if I don't get treatment? I've taken approx. 40 200mg ibuprofen tablets, 32 hours ago.
Avatar n tn I overdosed two days ago on ibuprofen and still feel off. Should I seek treatment? Would it still help? Would I be a suicide risk?
Avatar m tn Treatment leaves most folks nutritional depleted with high oxidative stress. Glutathione, Vitamins A, C, E and selenium are all depleted. The treatment induces a pro-inflammatory state, and shifting back to an anti-inflammatory state is, in my opinion, of value, along with anti-fibrotic measures for the liver. Many of these items will accelerate brain recovery, one of the organs most profoundly affected by interferon.
Avatar m tn the interferon ramps up the thyroid and puts in into overdrive and then can somewhat damage it and as treatment goes on or after tx. the thyroid gets underactive( hypo)..in other wars not working so good and the numbers will rise. The bad news if this happens ..it is usually the way it stays ..however the good news is the medication synthroid is a simple once a day med to keep the thyroid hormone in balance if needed.
291885 tn?1404893207 m almost at my original thyroid dose but am still having lingering effects of too much thyroid like occasional skipped heart beats, pounding heart beat, sometimes fast heart beat. I'm wondering if I will have lasting effects from too much thyroid hormone or if maybe it's just going to take a while to get my heart back to normal? I was a runner before getting sick and am fearful that I could have permanent heart issues from being overdosed for so long.
Avatar m tn org/posts/Thyroid-Disorders/Do-you-feel-any-different-skipping-just-1-dose-on-the-Synthroid--I-ask-bcz/show/17885 You should never double up on medication when you miss doses, due to the risk of overdose. Since synthroid takes a long time (weeks) get into/out of your blood, you should be okay for this time, but if it happens again, don't try to make up missed doses; just start taking your med daily, like you normally would.
Avatar n tn Emergency medical treatment should be summoned at the first possible indication of a Ritalin overdose, as a sense of urgency could mean the difference between life and death, in this type of an emergency situation. The treatment protocol for a Ritalin overdose can vary depending on a various factors such as how much of the drug has been taken or if the medication has been combined with alcohol or any other types of drugs.
10878355 tn?1425579171 I am 19 years old and last week on Friday I was rushed to the Emergency Room for symptoms I was experiencing from an overdose on espresso. When I arrived I was told I was experiencing "tachycardia". My heart rate was beating over 100. I was at bed-rest and given a pill. However I am still experiencing tachycardia symptoms (not currently at hospital). I was also told that I was underweight and that caffeine overdose will impact me harder than others.
Avatar f tn No thyroid medication for one week, took 3 125mg does and into the ER. Now no thyroid for 6 weeks then labs. This doctor died, his successor left, and only by a flux the cardiologist checked the thyroid, and also my first ER visit, presents like heart attack.
