Thyroid joint and muscle pain

Common Questions and Answers about Thyroid joint and muscle pain

Avatar n tn I have some problems with joint and muscle pain along with "brain fog". Depression is also a huge problem. I have no drive or zest for life. I had some blood work done recently and the tests came back within "Normal" levels for tsh and t4. I have recent weight gain (15 pounds) in the last month or so. Hopefully not related to the holidays. Anyone have similar symptoms and have the tests come back normal?
Avatar f tn I went to the Dr. the first of Novenber for Hip pain. I had heard that muscle and joint pain can come frome hypothyroid so I asked them to do more bloodwork. I have been to 2 orthopedics since November for my hip musce and joint apin and it is no better.

Avatar f tn I have hashi and joint pain, muscle ache, stiff body, frozen shoulder. You get a feeling as if joints are connected in a crude manner. When you have prolonged pains like this, our brain tries to avoid any movement that can cause pain. This kind of makes you less mobile and lethargic...

Then I stopped my birth control pill. So probs started again. I was put on 1 grain armour for 3 months, it was hell. My monrning used to to pain free and evening it used to start paining through the night. constipation was worst. Then I convinced him to increase armour to 1.
Avatar m tn g., lyme and viral illnesses), and connective tissue disorders (e.g., Sjogrens and Lupus). Does the pain improve at a certain point of the day (e.g., upon awakening or later in the day)? Do you have a rash or other findings? I recommend that you follow up with a primary care physician and perhaps a rheumatologist. You may need to have lab work including an ESR/CRP (to evaluate inflammation), ANA (to evaluate for connective tissue disorders), and metabolic workup.
Avatar m tn Please post your most recent thyroid related blood tests, and their reference ranges. Some of us with muscle/joint pain find that we simply need to increase our dosage. If you have Hashimoto's (which causes thyroid inflammation), you will need to increase your medication, as the antibodies destroy healthy thyroid tissue. It's true that supplementing with magnesium can help relieve the pain; I find that adding calcium helps. Exercise also helps, even though it's hard, when we're in pain.

Avatar n tn Yes I am 31 and started having tingling shooting pain joint aches and muscle pains that just move to various body parts. Mainly in arms and legs, the pain isnt severe but enough to notice and effect my daily life. Blood work has been good, waiting on results for autoimmune and lupus tests....everything I read points to lupus, MS, Lyme or fibromyalgia. I have had extreme fatigue and brain fog that cones and goes. I just want answers because this has truly been frightening and stressful!!
1338594 tn?1275906660 I have Ulcerative Colitis. I can relate. I've had joint, tendon, and muscle pain due to Ulcerative Colitis before, but it wasn't so bad. I started getting horrific pain in my neck, upper back and shoulders about six weeks ago. Then in my upper arms, chest, and feet. My feet turned red and swelled. The pain seems to move from one place to another every few days to a week.
1947337 tn?1331427490 Just a question about your earlier comment about my joint pain and stiffness...I am going to the endo today about my thyroid goiters..should I ask her about the EDS, my PCP, or my NS??
Avatar n tn I do have rheumatoid artritis and some of your symptoms (jaw problems and joint pain) are somethings that I deal with. RA diagnoses is a very simple blood test and it maybe be worth checking out with your doctor. Again, I'm not a physician and am coming at this from my own personal experience. I wish you the very best and hope you get through this with a minimal expense and with positive results. Let us know how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I had my 3rd child 10 months ago and after I had her my thyroid seemed to go haywire. My endo put me on a higher dosage of 112mcg and ever since I have had severe muscle and joint pain. I am only 26 years old and I wake up feeling 65. It's getting to the point where it's hard for me to walk sometimes. Does anyone have any experience with this? I live in a very small town and have two options for doctors. I'm thinking about traveling to see a better one.

Avatar f tn HI I have had more muscle and joint pain since being on synthroid than ever before. I am not sure what to make of it. Just to let you know that you are not alone with it and also to tell you that as I find out more, I will be in touch. I have found that stretching and heat help a lot. You may want to speak with a good physical therapist who might have insight into this.
798555 tn?1292791151 Why is it that the majority of members did not start having Muscle, joint, hip, and lower back pain until after starting thyroid meds, Levo and Synthroid in particular, Doctors tell you the same old thing "Your pain is not caused by the medication" I really think a connection exists here.
Avatar n tn Joint pain About 5 months ago, I developed uniform thigh muscle pain in both thighs. Blood work at the time was all negative. Then 2 months ago, the thigh muscle pain was now joined by overall joint pain, unusual skin sensations, like creepy crawlies. Also now i have fatigue.I was then diagnosed with Lyme disease, I took Doxycycline for 3 weeks but the symptoms have persisted. I have now been diagnosed with reactivated Epstein Barr Virus.
Avatar n tn I don't want to scare you, but my sister experienced night sweats and joint pain and it was Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She went to Mayo in Rochester and they saved her life, but it was a rough year of surgeries, radiation and chemo. She was stage four before someone finally figured out what was wrong. She had cracked vertebrae and later lost all bone mass in her right shoulder and hip, but after the treatments, it all came back. She's been okay for seven years now.
Avatar f tn couldn't wear shoes or socks, not even the sheet could touch them)....this was 5 years ago and the joint and muscle pain is daily and worsening...had many tests at the Neurologist to rule out nerve damage and now referred to the Rheumatoligist to see what he can find...I have had constant diarhea since the day of the frustrated...I know getting my gallbladder removed was a medical necessity but my health has gone steadily downhill daily since the surgery....
