1427484 tn?1334789201 my sister in law was told that by her acupuncturist .. chinese believe in heat and cold as diagnoses .. you want to warm up your body so you will increase blood flow to the uterus. she started wearing warm socks all the time and keeping her head warm too .. also added lots of ginger to all meals and tea to get warmed up from the inside .. after 6 months of acupuncture and warming up, at nearly 42 she conceived .. she is now 4 weeks away from delivery!
1104206 tn?1407475591 now after having the breast cancer and a bilateral mastectomy , thyroid probs and non stop periods they want to give me some curette procedure where they scrape your uterus and check for abnormalities. my intra vag ultrasound says this and can someone plz decipher it for me: endometrial thickness of 13.6mm non specific heterogeneous echotexture of the uterus with 2 simple cysts noted at the myometrial- endometrial junction measuring 3.4 mm in diameter.
Avatar f tn I had Radioactive Iodine in 1987 to complete kill my thyroid on the left due to hyperthyroidism ...... i had normal values ever since.....but in 2006 on a chest xray they found a nodule and I went to my endocrinologist who did the sonogram and found the thyroid had grown back.. now come on ... plus I had to have it removed due to follicular adenoma....and now of course i have two large nodules in my right gland both measure over 2 cm each.. I just think it is so funny....
999838 tn?1299103020 In April in my quest to figure out why I felt crummy I had my thyroid checked and my TSH levels were .85; then again (by my Rheumatologist) on July 17 and they were 3.97 and then (by my OBGYN because I still felt crummy) on July 30 and they had risen to 5.12 (my T3F was 3.84 with a normal range of 1.0-40.0, and my T4F.885 with a normal range of .300-6.0) At the end of April when trying to get my thyroid checked I was diagnosed with Lupus and Fibromyalgia from the full blood panel they took.
2073693 tn?1333125546 I have an enlarged uterus too. At one point it measured the size of a 16-week pregnancy. My gyn said it's not uncommon for peri/menopausal women, especially those who have had kids, c-section or any other surgical procedure. Many women don't even notice any effects of the increased size and therefore no treatment is necessary. Since I had symptoms, my gyn suspected I have Adenomyosis.
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would start with an ultrasound to rule out any retained products of conception (membranes or placental tissue left in the uterus). I would also check some hormone levels including an HCG level, thyroid panel, prolactin level, and FSH to start with. Finally, I would also want to do a complete exam and pap smear to check for polyps or other problems in the cervix.
Avatar f tn Thyroid hormones and estrogen go hand-in-hand for many of us. I was just the opposite - had an ovary removed for PCOS in '96, thyroid cancer in '03, other ovary removed for PCOS (huge, hemorrhagic cysts) in '06 and ongoing fibrocystic breast disease. All are fed by hormones (either thyroid hormones or estrogen) and many, many of us on the forum have these problems.
Avatar f tn Went to my gyno today to have some blood drawn to see where I'm at with the whole menopause thing. Started having hot flashes after upping my Cytomel dosage and both docs want to see if it's hormones or the cytomel. My gyno said that since I have no uterus she'd like to start me on estrogen if my labs show that I'm in perimenopause. I don't know why but I thought that if you didn't have a thyroid you weren't supposed to take estrogen. What is the protocol for this?
Avatar f tn Hi there, In myomectomy there is surgical removal of fibroids from the uterus. It does not affect the uterus and the chances of conceiving may be in fact increased after myomectomy. You have been trying to conceive since such a long time without any success you should be consulting an infertility expert. The cause of infertility can be due to male factors or female factors. Abnormal sperm production or function, aging and obesity all can lead to infertlity.
506820 tn?1295051333 Is it normal to experieince mild cramping/pressure in your uterus at 6DPO? I am currently 8DPO but the pressure has occurred on and off for the past 3 days. I know it is too early to be a "pregnancy" symptom but thought it might be a good sign of implantation. Any feedback on this one?
Avatar n tn I had an ultrasound for urology reasons and they said I had fluid in the uterus and should see a gyn. I am 69, and there is no pain or problem whatsoever. Everything I've read on the web from other patients involves pain etc. I feel inclined to just leave it alone. Is this dangerous?
Avatar f tn My Reproductive Endocrinologist said might be blighted ovum or might be too soon. He measured a rather large area of blood still in uterus and put me on bedrest for almost a week. Bleeding stopped right after sono. Today we repeated Level 2 sono and saw heartbeat (Praise God) but area of blood had only diminished slightly although I haven't bled in 6 days. Embryo measured 7 weeks 2 days which corresponds exactly w/ IUI dates.
Avatar f tn So I have been told that I have a fibroid in my uterus and out has been hurting me soo bad that I can barely walk...I saw my dr and all they gave me was some ibuprofen and it hadn't helped at all..anyone ever had this and have suggestions?
9442948 tn?1406816451 Like the movement is really really really low, much lower than I've ever felt movement before
Avatar n tn I am 55 years old. DES exposure, menopausal, recently had some bleeding. Had transvaginal ultrasound , lining about 5-6 mm. Went in for hysteroscopy and D&C under general anesthesia, discovered cervical stenosis unable to do procedure. My MD wants to just sit on this and wait. On ultrasound I had blood in uterus after I had stopped spotting. He doesn't seem concerned because I haven't had any more obvious bleeding. I believe good chance blood could just be trapped in uterus.
398501 tn?1334702273 Other, less rare but still uncommon, variations include the ‘subseptate uterus’ and ‘bicornuate uterus’. In both of these, the two embryonic tubes are joined to form a single uterus, but a ‘septum’ (or length of shared wall) remains, running partially down the middle of the inside of the uterus. The subseptate uterus looks and feels the same as a normal uterus from the outside, whilst the top of the bicornuate uterus is broad and dimpled in the middle – ‘heart shaped’ describes it perfectly!
Avatar f tn 0 What if anything would my thyroid and liver play into the ovarian cysts and/or thickened uterus? Everything I have read essentially says I should not necessarily have immediate cause to think cancer...that this could simply be hormonal, etc. Of course I am worried like any woman would be, but I'm also VERY VERY curious and questioning my WHOLE health picture since I obviously have other areas of concern going on.
Avatar m tn 1. Uterus 3.9 x 4.1 x 3.0 cm fibroid. Uterus is a venous echotexture suggesting possibility of adenomyosis in addition to a fibroid 2. R ovary: Complex, mostly cystic 8.9 x 6.5 x 7.1 cm mass. Differential dx considerations include endometrioma, demoid, ovarian cysts altered by prior infection or hemorrhage and less likely ovarian neoplasm. Follow-up sonography in 6 weeks to confirm resolution should be considered. 3. Left ovary: Complex 3.4 x 1.6 x 1.
Avatar f tn And endometriosis is the migration of cells that used to be in the uterus, out into the abdominal cavity, where they can hurt and bleed. A suggested treatment for that is certainly surgical, but it is taking out the cells that have migrated into the abdomen, not removing the uterus. (Another treatment is to go onto suppressive hormones, but that option wouldn't thrill me much in your shoes.
Avatar f tn have polycystic left kidney, 2 kidney stones in right kidney, ovarian cyst, cyst on cervix, stip of endrometriosis in uterus, mild asymmetry pituitary adnoma, solid mass on left lobe of thyroid, and septated cyst on right lobe of thyroid. Nothing has been biopsyed or treated for any of these conditions. What should i do?
Avatar f tn and possibly expense but may be worth considering. The hypoechoic finding in your uterus sounds like a fibroid (submucosal?). If it is and is the cause of all the bleeding, a myomectomy to remove it may be worth considering. One of the problems is that it seems many gynecologists do hysterectomies and don't have the skills or desire to do myomectomies due to lack of training and lower profitability (since myomectomies are more delicate surgeries).
Avatar n tn I had a ultrasound exam & the uterus measured 10.8 x 8.2 x 5.8. The mometrium shows extensive leiomyomatous changes present with distinct fibroids measuring 3.7, 2.6, 1.6 & 4.9cm. The endometrial echo complex is 3.2 mm. The right ovary is nonvisualized. The left ovary measures 1.9 x 1.4 x 1.7 cm. No ovarian or adexal mass lesions are seen. A small amount of free fluid is present.
