10222673 tn?1408616506 This lady is basically saying that she has been married for 3 years and cant get pregnant as her menstural cycle is irregular and she has had a cyst in the past. She tooka few home pregnancy test in the past which have all come out as positive but ultrasound has confirmed negative.
Avatar n tn In most cases, a lump that moves is better news than a hard, stationary lump. However, it wouldn't hurt to have an ultrasound just to be sure, so ask your doctor to order one. If he refuses, ask him to refer you to someone else. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn s gradually, destroys the thyroid, creating a demand for periodic increases in replacement thyroid hormones. The antibody tests you need are Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb).
Avatar n tn You should talk with your doctor about starting a thyroid replacement medication. Adequate thyroid hormones are essential the growth and development of a fetus. Even though your FT3 and FT4 are "normal", they are way too low in their ranges to be adequate.
Avatar f tn I did have thyroid antibodies checekd (negative) and an US of the thyroid which just noted the difference in size of the lobes, but nothing really showed any significant problems. My general medical doctor put me on a low dose of levothyroxin (25 mcg) and I will say I feel 100 x better. I am no longer falling asleep throughout the day, no longer feeling like my brain is "fuzzy", etc. WOuld a doctor be willing to let you have a trial with a low dose of medication?
Avatar m tn s FREE T3 and T4, not Total) and TSH, along with thyroid antibodies, Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb), plus a thyroid ultrasound to make sure nothing is pressing against your wind pipe. Acid reflux/GERD is a very common symptom of hypothyroidism. If you have it, that's all the more reason to get thyroid hormones tested.
Avatar n tn It depends on your body. During my pregnancy my dose was changed monthly because my thyroid needed more to function correctly. I had to see my endo every month to check my thyroid.
Avatar f tn A few months ago I started to get a flutter in my throat right where the thyroid gland is. It went away as quick as it started however it made me cough and sort of lose my breath for a second. It wasn't that often that it happened. However for the past 2 weeks it started to happen more and more until finally it became a constant flutter in my throat. I went to hospital and had blood tests, chast x ray and ecg all came back fine and they said it could be down to reflux.
Avatar f tn 5 mm were found in almost all patients with thyroid cancer (96.9%), they were also found in over half (56.4%) of patients without thyroid cancer. The authors identified three characteristics of nodules found on ultrasound that were significant predictors of thyroid cancer—microcalcifications (odds ratio [OR] 8.1), size >2 cm (OR, 3.6), and an entirely solid composition (OR, 4.0)." http://www.endocrineweb.
440728 tn?1234645302 4 and I have also developed a small lump the size of a pea in my thyroid gland. My doctor here in the UK has not helped much and that is why I am asking your advice. He thinks this lump is unlikely to be a nodule but is probably a lump made from thyroid tissue as it is moveable. I want to ask if this could still cause problems with how the thyroid works by making it either hyper or hypothyroid and could it give symptoms.
Avatar n tn Ask for a complete thyroid workup with labs, antibodies, and an ultrasound or CT scan of your thyroid area. A sudden change in your voice could be your thyroid (or a thyroid nodule) compressing your vocal chords but they need to do more studies. Also, menopause affects thyroid hormones too (estrogen and thyroid hormones are closely related) so they need to check your thyroid levels.
Avatar n tn Well, my thyroid levels ARE back to normal, and have been for a month now, but the throat feeling just began a week ago. Does that mean the thyroiditis is still not over, even with normal levels, or does it mean that maybe that something else is causing it? Again, I am 7 months postpartum, and wonder if is possible I am only in transition from the "hyper" to "hypo" stage. And if not, what else could cause throat symptoms such as mine?
Avatar f tn Last year I went to a doctor and had no problems, but this year I had another test done and he said I had unlevel thyroid balances. Can my thyroid problem just go away because I haven't been put on medication yet.
1468090 tn?1289093410 Oh and BTW, thyroid issues can cause ringing in the ears too!!
Avatar f tn s thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease in which they body sees the thyroid as foreign and produces antibodies to destroy it. As the destruction progresses, the thyroid produces less and less hormones, resulting in a need for periodic increases in medication.
Avatar n tn I have been taking topamax for migraines for about a year now and have just found a soft bump, about an inch in size, to the right of my thyroid. Do you think that would be a thyroid condition? I do have an anxiety problem as well and I am afraid to have it looked at.
Avatar f tn This is a thyroid disorders forum; have you had thyroid hormone tests done to determine whether or not your thyroid is functioning adequately? Have you had a thyroid ultrasound to determine whether or not your thyroid is swollen/inflamed or whether you have nodules on your thyroid? It really "is" possible for anxiety to cause that type of pain, but I'd want to make sure everything else "has" been ruled out.
