Avatar n tn I don't think it's in your head! You might want to look into a Internal Medicine doctor they deal with thyroid issues a lot! I had to go to one for a long time because I had a qoiter on my thyroid and that and I was so young when they found it. But Thyroid is really strange it can make you depressed, your nail can break, your hair can fall out. I am not a doctor or nurse but been in this game a long time! I would go to someone who specialist in it!
215021 tn?1224882457 t want to get confused - easy for me at the moment as my brain seems to be functioning in a weird and spacey way!
Avatar n tn Hi there! I'm so sorry you're having problems with your neck. I'm really surprised that your doctor didn't check your TSH levels considering the fact that cysts were found on your thyroid. I have Hashimoto's disease and it took 2 years to finally get diagnosed a year ago.
Avatar f tn I know you all don't consider a result normal just because it's within a lab's normal range, so if anyone could provide any input on whether or not my results really are normal, I would appreciate it greatly! I'm trying to sneak around the internet and find information on functional ranges and stuff while I'm at work, but I'm going to have to wait until I'm done with work to fully look into all of these different levels and what they mean.
Avatar n tn Hi depending on the symptoms u present ur Drs will do testing like MRI's to look for signs something may be wrong or a cause of the symptoms..... Have u been to the dr?.,....what symptoms do u have that make u wonder this?
824295 tn?1241652549 For the past week I have had a tight , lump in the throat feeling. I have the feeling all day. Last Jan I was having stomach problems and had a endoscopy done and was told I just had a irritated stomach. By the end of Feb stomach symptons went away and I felt good. Last week I developed muscle aches, feel weak and tired and have muscle twitches, pins and needles feeling in my feet along with the throat thing. Bloodwork came back fine and I am having a mri on the brain done friday.
Avatar f tn It usually is a symptom of ssri or snri withdrawal., that is, when you stop taking one of these meds. It's said to be caused by the reawakening of serotonin receptors that shut off because the body felt they were no longer needed because these medications bathe the neurons longer in serotonin than the body does naturally. That's a theory, since nobody understand these meds fully.
Avatar n tn mtkst13 is right on. I would only add to make sure the doctor includes in the thyroid testing, free T3 and free T4, not just total T4 and TSH, which is the usual approach. If you don't insist, it probably won't happen and free T3 is the most active of thyroid hormones, largely regulating metabolism and other symptoms.
907968 tn?1292622204 So, While there reading this thread I remembered there was mention on the thyroid forum about Brain Fog and at the time I read the thyroid thing I thought Brain Fog was something else and not quite me. So, again, Is Brain Fog part of hypothyroidism? and if so What is Brain Fog? just in case it is something different from the ear problem "brain fog".
Avatar f tn (see source below) Anyway, this is the link for information on this exciting event tonight !!! I thank the people in the thyroid forum who included us in this event. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/736249 "The mix of treatments needed varies from patient to patient. There are some abnormalities that are common. For instance, close to 100% of individuals with these syndromes have low thyroid.
168348 tn?1379357075 Did you know that my thyroid is sitting in a lab somewhere while the pathologist drinks beer and watches hockey...and this makes me want to yell obscenities out loud!!!
Avatar n tn Which leaves you with the only time you have feelings of weakness, is in the moments of waking and before you start moving to get up. The simple explanation is that you are not yet fully conscious, still partially in sleep mode but when you stand up your brain has to get into gear and then everything feels perfectly normal. Cheers........
1497650 tn?1289233125 s usually because changes in the nervous system and circulatory system cause a temporary drop in the amount of blood reaching the brain. When the brain is robbed of its blood supply, a person loses consciousness and falls over. After lying down, a person's head is at the same level as the heart, which helps restore blood flow to the brain. So the person usually recovers after a minute or two." Here's some more info on the above: http://kidshealth.
490443 tn?1236648256 I am wondering if any of you have like brain shocks? Like pain in the brain that shocks?? WEIIRD I know!!! ALso any of you have hair loss?? How long does it take to stop after being regulated?? Thyroids gotta love them!
Avatar m tn The most common cause of pulsatile tinnitus is noisy blood flow as blood pushes through plaques or kinks in the arteries in the head or neck. It can be made worse if there is also hypertension. Several types of fistulas in the blood vessels of head and neck, especially the carotid artery or jugular vein can also cause this. Increased blood flow as seen in anemia and hyperthyroid state can also cause pulsatile tinnitus. Fluid in middle ear can be another cause.
Avatar f tn When Armour was available again, I switched back and my acid reflux was gone in 3 days, as I remember, as a result of the T3 in the med. I was confident that my acid reflux was gone, so I eliminated one of the Prilosec, with no problem. I then stopped altogether and still was doing okay until my doctor insisted that I at least stay on one Prilosec, due to concerns about the Barrett's. So all that made me wonder what your thyroid related test results look like.
Avatar m tn All is well so I go ahead with reflux treatment hoping this feeling like there is something in my throat will go away. I have recently had gastro so back to the Doctor to tell him the feeling in my throat is intensifying. There is no bulging or anything out of order to look or feel for externally and the scope was clear. Does this sound like an internally growing goiter?
Avatar n tn Is there strong family history of diabetes or obesity in the family. She is around the prepubertal age that she is definitely prone towards insulin resistance. So work with your ped to get a referral and see how they can help you and your daughter.
458072 tn?1291415186 I also take thyroid medication, and also get brain zaps. Not on any antidepressant. I think I get the zaps when my thyroxine dose is a bit high.
Avatar m tn I just came up with a theory all on my own, after thinking and thinking about my undiagnosed symptoms. I have had heart palps, nausea episodes, fatigue, exercise intolerance, breathless feelings and so forth, and the most disturbing symptom of all by far, is "brain fog" or "Derealization"...
Avatar f tn Hi all! I'm new to this forum and looking for recommendations for a good thyroid doctor in or near Madison, WI. I am 30 and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism three years ago. For a long time I was on levothyroxine or synthroid and needed the dosage upped every so often. Currently I am taking 100mg of Synthroid. Last summer I finally was able to convince my PCP to prescribe Armour Thyroid instead.
Avatar f tn I believe the thyroid is IS because of the tumor. I had a brain tumor near the pituitary and it effected it. It caused me to have secondary hypothyroidism and diabetes insipidus. They put me on synthyroid for the hypothyroidism, but only to treat hypothyroidism. They removed my tumors, because they were big enough. They may not be removing yours maybe because it's too small. I'm not sure.
Avatar m tn Yeah I agree I really dont think it is a tumor or anything of that issue I went back to the docs on wed. for a thyroid test so hopefully that comes back with something.
