Common Questions and Answers about Thyroid hormone imbalance symptoms

hormone

Avatar f tn m asking is that do any of you think that these symptoms could be caused by extreme hormone imbalance? No one has ever tested my hormones before. I find it weird that they all started almost a month to the day I quit birth control. Also, my period was never regular when I was younger, I matured late and would sometimes go 6 months without getting my period. I was also anorexic during high school which didn't help. But I am no longer and eat very healthy.
Avatar f tn My naturopath gets me to go to the walk-in clinic for bloodwork as I would have to pay for them with him, we did find out couple months back that I was very slightly hyperthyroid, he gave me some thyroid capsules called BioThy, and it fixed that, my last bloodtest the thyroid was normal! He also told me I have BPPV, but that usually comes when I turn my head certain ways, look up too fast, turning over in bed, etc. This dizziness I have now feels like something else.
Avatar f tn Hi im 18 can my GP offer a hormone test as i feel i have a hormone balance or is this something you have to buy like a kit (i also have an under active thyroid)
865758 tn?1285952904 I am 32 years old and just recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Previous to that my OB/GYN diagnosed me with low estrogen. My estradiol level was 42. When my endo doc ran the TPO antibody test he also checked my testosterone levels and they have come back high. Does the thyroid cause all these other imbalances as well? My endo suggested peri menopause because of the Hashimoto's and I have all the symptoms but afraid that it is just the thyroid messing everything up.
1134902 tn?1296066144 anywho my question is...could this be caused by a hormone imbalance brought on by my intense workout? even tho Im only spotting, Im still cramping. My family doc is booked up until the new year, so I can't see her anytime soon.
Avatar n tn I am starting to think I may be suffering from a hormone imbalance as my symptoms seem to go when I start my period. I also suffer from inability to sleep, mood swings cyclical depression, facial hair, hot flushes as well as cold and irregular periods, I am now having 2 periods a month, one really light and short and one a week later that is pretty severe....
Avatar n tn Hello, Causes of post menopausal bleeding could be ovarian cysts, endometriosis, diseases of pituitary gland, hormonal imbalance of estrogen and progesterone, thyroid hormone imbalance, cervicitis and cervical cancer. Your doctor may consider tests like blood sugar levels, thyroid function test, prolactin, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSA), estrogen, and testosterone. Imaging studies, such as ultrasound, X-ray, and CT scan or MRI brain may also be recommended in certain individuals.
Avatar f tn Hello, These symptoms can be due hormonal imbalance or hyperhidrosis. Get your blood sugar and thyroid hormone levels checked. If the symptoms persist then chronic infections by getting a complete blood profile and a hormonal profile needs to be done. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn m curious if anyone has experience with hormone imbalance (HI) related to perimenopause, and if the sometimes erratic symptoms of HI could include the symptoms I've described? Thanks!
Avatar f tn My daughter was diagnosed with bipolar some two years ago then subsequently it was dismissed and her symptoms were diagnosed as caused by an enlarged pituitary gland and hormone imbalance. Can anyone tell me if these could all be related to bipolar.
Avatar n tn I think hot flushes should be given to men! ;-P I suffered greatly with hot flushes but, am going through some kind of imbalance somewhere, somehow and am seeking out help from a gynecologist for it. I've also had the weight gain...right around the mid-section. Grrrrrr. I think that most of us will say that the hot flushes and the weight gain are pretty annoying to say the least. Estrogen can cause weight gain but, can help with the hot flushes some.
Avatar f tn Hence it is important to get thyroid antibodies tested. The other possibility is PCOD with hormone imbalance. The third possibility is adrenal gland dysfunction. So cortisol levels will have to be tested. It can even be very low iron. Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to have sex when you got out off a hospital for hormone imbalance about 8 day and they put you on birth control or do you wait
Avatar n tn If you have a hormone imbalance, can it make your birth control less effective? I haven't been able to find much info on this but I suspect I have a hormonal imbalance due to the pill so I was wondering if that could mean the pill would be less effective against pregnancy.
Avatar n tn HE SAID THAT I HAD A HORMONE IMBALANCE DUE TO STRESS........HE SAID THAT HE WAS POSITIVE OF THIS AND GAVE ME PROGESTERONE TO TAKE FOR FIVE DAYS........HE WAS RIGHT........EVERYTHING IS BACK ON TRACK AND I WAS CALM AFTER THAT.........WELL, MY DOCTOR WHO DID THE BLOOD WORK AND URINE TEST BEFORE THE OBGYN VISIT AND HORMONES, HAD HER RECEPTIONIST CALL ME AND SAY THAT MY BLOOD SUGAR WAS A LITTLE HIGH AND THAT THE DR. WAS PRESCRIBING 2 MEDICATIONS FOR ME......
Avatar n tn It sounds like since your mother is going through menopause that the two biggest answers would be a thyroid issue or another hormone imbalance. Hormones and your thyroid both effect your period and the hair loss is also a sign of both menopause and thyroid issues. My mother is going through menopause and has noticed that she is losing hair from her arms, legs, and pubic area. The doctor said thats normal for menopausal women but if your mother has other more severe symptoms I would go to the Dr.
Avatar m tn My wife is at 44 years old From my on-line research , she has symptoms of a hormone imbalance , but says , it's not bad enough to make a Dr appt. What are some homeopathic supplements to help hormone imbalance ? My guess would be , extra soy and L-arginine . What do you think ?
Avatar n tn The Pituitary gland - Thyroid gland - Adrenal glands - and the Sex Hormone glands. These are the 4 things when a hormonal imbalance is happening and they each require testing. All four can put out the same symtpoms on a patient so they all need to be looked at both in a whole system and as seperate issues. You need blood work and even a possiblity of a saliva test.
Avatar m tn I decided to start birth control again so I got birth control through an online service. I started the pill a week ago and it made my thyroid symptoms come back so I stopped taking the pill after a week of taking it (mid pack). Once I stopped it, I took a hormone balancing vitamin so my hormones wouldn’t go crazy. Right after I took the vitamin, I got my period again. I just had my period 14 days ago. My cycles are usually 30-35+. I also am getting rashes and my whole body is itchy.
Avatar m tn Hello friend, if your TSH levels are elevated, discuss treatment plan with your physician. Hormone medications are used to balance thyroid hormonal imbalance.
