Avatar m tn Just got my blood test results. Says my results show an elevated anti-thryoid antobodies but were otherwise normal. Says my throid hormones are still in normal range and to check again in three months. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn Occasional sores on my scalp I have even lost 8 kilos in weight The blood test results that I have listed is the only ones that were done and is written up as it says on the paperwork Yes the doctor is Indian, but I find it frustrating talking to doctors anyway as I dont understand half of what they are saying and then they dont like giving straight answers. It took 6 months for the specialist to confirm that I had to say that I had SLE - he kept telling me I had an autoimmune disease.
Avatar m tn Hi I seem to have quite a few thyroid symptoms so I went to my gp for a blood test serum free t4 level = 14.1 pmol/l serum tsh level = 4.79 mu/l high serum ferritin = 33 ug/l serum vitamin D = 24.
Avatar f tn t know whether to wait a week or two to have the blood test incase it affects the reading can anyone help me
Avatar n tn I had my thyroid removed March of 08 and my recent blood test showed thyroglobulin antibodies still above 20 and my TSH, 3rd generation at 0.06. Why would I show high antibodies when I no longer have a thyroid? They are sending me for more blood test but I don't understand the tests and why they are required. The test are as follows: TSH, FT4, ANA, ultra sensitivity-CRP and DHEA-s or could be a 5. Please help me understand what these other tests will show?
Avatar f tn Another thing to keep in mind is that a good thyroid doctor will treat a hypo patient clinically by testing and adjusting Free T3 and Free T4 as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels. Symptom relief should be all important, not just test results, and certainly not TSH results. So clinically treatment is something you should explore with your doctor also, to make sure he is willing to treat clinically.
Avatar f tn TSH is raised in hypothyroidism. A high TSH with normal blood thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) means a subclinical hypothyroidism. In such a setting, Hashimotos’s thyroiditis should be tested for which is an autoimmune disorder. Also the tests should be repeated after 3 months. As of now you may not need treatment. Dizziness can be due to brain tumor, MS.
