Avatar f tn When I started, I was also taking bioidentical progesterone, estrogen mix and DHEA to control hot flashes and night sweats, which it was doing very well. Once levothyroxine came in, the flashes and night sweats came back with a vengeance and I had trouble sleeping.
Avatar m tn d hypo and put on med, I noticed that the sweats got fewer and less severe as my levels go better. Now, I have night sweats when my levels are off, but usually only once or twice/night as opposed to 5-6 times/night I used to get them.
458072 tn?1291415186 I have night sweats as well and my new doctor catagorized it with thyroid issues. I know it isn't the change of life for me as I'm only 28. It also isn't a side effect of any of my meds. I don't know why I have them, but when I go to the doctor I will try to ask him and let you know what he thinks mine are. Once I start to get hot it feels like I'm in a creamatorium and I can't cool back down, it is misearable.
Avatar f tn I have had night sweats for years and always associated it with having had 2 laprascopic surgeries for endometriosis. Does anyone know what the deal with night sweats and thyroid it because lately I have to have my ceiling fan, AC below 70 and an osolating fan when I go to bed!
Avatar f tn It sounds to me like your hormones may be off balance. Has anyone done a blood test to check your hormone levels? I'm pretty sure that at 22 years of age and 2 children later, you're not in menopause but, something is causing these night sweats and you shouldn't have to suffer through them because your doc doesn't know and is not looking any further as to the cause.
Avatar f tn I noticed after giving birth I began to have night sweats. They come and go and usually around the time of menstruation they come back. Last night however, ( the last day of menstruation ) , my night sweats were pretty wet- more than usual... Is this normal? When I think of night sweats- cancer pops into my mind... Thanks!
Avatar n tn It is possible that other health problems are causing the night sweats, and I encourage you to have him checked by his physician since this seems to be happening fairly often. Another possibility is that the night sweats ARE hypo-related but that his liver is producing emergency sugars after a hypo while he is asleep and is therefore bringing his glucose levels up to normal by the time he wakes up; hence, his normal or slightly high glucose readings.

703031 tn?1398963307 I am a 33 year old female and have recently begun to experience night sweats. (approx. the past 6 to 8 weeks). Some nights I sweat enough to soak my hair and pillow and a portion of the sheets. Other nights, I wake up soaked from head to toe where I need to towel off and change my sheets. Should I contact my doctor and make an appointment? I hate going in for something that is "completely normal"...lol. My room isn't hot at all.

1889242 tn?1321354938 I was having the same problem off and on and when I looked into it a common cause in non-menopausal women is hyperthyroidism. It hasn't happened to me for a while so I haven't seen a dr about it but will mention at my next visit and perhaps have him check my thyroid just in case. It can also be a side effect of meds like anti-depressants, or may be a sign of infection. The only other time I have had horrible night sweats was when I had infectious mono in my early 20s.
Avatar n tn My son sweats very heavily during the first 2 - 4 hours of sleep at night (enough to drench the bed), or even when napping. He stops sweating later in the early morning hours, and his body is usually cool and dry. During the day he runs and plays, eats well, and doesn't seem to show any other adverse symptoms.
Avatar f tn I too am experiencing night sweats along with insomnia. Bill spoke to thyroid disorders and I did inherit a thyroid problem from treatment. To ease your mind, I have not relapsed as of 12 weeks post treatment. @James I wake every morning with a headache and achy as well. I thought it was just me or the thyroid medication. I am still experiencing fatigue and shortness of breath which are a sx of the thyroid medication too! However, my HGB has not recovered to pretreatment numbers so who knows.
Avatar n tn TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by many variables to the point that at best it is an indicator, to be considered along with more important indicators such as symptoms and also levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, which are Free T3 and Free T4. If you will please post your thyroid test results and their reference ranges, members will be glad to help interpret and advise.
Avatar f tn How long have you had this happening? On a light note there are many virueses running around lately - and night sweats and chills are common in them. I have been experiencing these symptoms since I was around 37 (right before being Dx with Graves) Same time of month too. and was I irratiable!! they didn't happen every night - but right before ( and I mean a day or two) I would get my cycle I WAS A BEAR!! I still am too.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have similar symptoms but have not gone to be checked because I have just felt that it was menopause. The night sweats are the worse and keep me up most of the night. I have found it feels better if I keep the bedroom on the cool side though it does not get rid of them. I went to the pharmacy to see what they had available for menopausal women and they had this package that has both am and pm pills.

Avatar f tn ll tell you what natural herbs I take and that are really helping. For the hot flashes and night sweats I take Soy Isoflavones, Black Cohosh, and Motherwort. The soy isoflavones also help with brain function along with T-Theanine and Turmeric. Valerian, Turmeric Motherwort and Magnolia Bark can help with the anxiety. I hope this helps you.

Avatar m tn I had some night sweats when I was on Incivek but I don't think I have had them since. When I had them my body was pretty sweaty in areas, but my sheets never got drenched (or even wet, for that matter). (However, now my sheets are greasy from the fluocinonide ointment. Can't win on these meds, lol.) It might be a good idea to mention it to your doctor, just in case.
Avatar m tn I had night and day time sweats until I cleared the virus. Even though not listed as a symptom there is a connection. My thought was the immune system fighting the virus causing some inflammation / fever. Just the way a fever helps when the body is fighting an infection.
Avatar n tn I have in the past few days had, night sweats, a numb face and hands and a mild headache. Also weakness and aching in the limbs. Vomiting in the first night....
