Avatar f tn Can weak adrenals and haveing hashimotos affect thyroid meds and keep me from raising them?
1528307 tn?1336000554 The adrenal glands have two areas which make the hormones, one comes from the pituitary gland and it is that they will be looking at on the MRI, as well as your adrenal glands.
215021 tn?1224882457 Hi, Cortisol is produced by your adrenal glands that can have an impact on how your body uses thyroid. Doctors are supposed to make sure everything is good with your adrenal glands before even putting you on thyroid meds so it is good they are checking it (it's even notated on thyroid Rx info that you should rule out/resolve adrenal issues prior to taking thyroid medication).
Avatar n tn s patients are thyroid and adrenal. Yes, all the glands are interrelated, but if he mainly sees diabetics, and has never seen anything wrong with adrenal mixes apart from Cushing's and Addison's, the deck may be stacked against you. Of course, WE could be barking up the wrong tree! Many diabetics once had the opposite condition, or hypoglycemia, which is most definitely a big factor in my superfragilistic sweat glands! So far, I don't have diabetes.
4065534 tn?1400548736 This is often an underlying cause of thyroid disorders since the adrenal glands secrete hormones that regulate thyroid (or something like that). But kombucha has other properties that can really help with thyroid disorders as well but again if the batch has too much caffeine it may aggregate. That's my assumption.
Avatar f tn I agree with Peggy. Your adrenals need to be stabilized before taking thyroid meds. Research adrenal fatigue and it will tell you this. Are you seeing an Endo? I'm surprised he/she wants to start you on thyroid meds before they know what's going on with your adrenal glands. From my research you can have a high WBC if your adrenals are not working properly. Can you wait awhile until your tests come back before you start thyroid meds? I think that would be the safest thing to do.
Avatar f tn I have a lot of irregular beats and now my cardiologist wants me to do an ablation but I am convinced that something else is causing this. I have just gotten my thyroid levels checked and they are fine. So should I get my adrenal glands checked? I really know that all my symptoms are not from my heart. I feel exhausted, have horrible headaches, lightheaded, some nausea, now I am having vision problems. What could this be?
Avatar f tn S SO SORRY THE PIT TUMOPR ISGONE AND THE THYROID WAS 3/4 REMOVED IN 03. NO ADRENAL TUMOR JUST WAS IN THE PITUITARY GLAND. MOST OF THIS IS FROM THE THYROID I FIND OUT LATE IN LIFE. I WILL JUST CONCENTRATE OF WHAT THE THYROID DID TO ME BORN ADDICTED TO CORTICOSTEROIDS. I WROTE THIS IN ANGER AND I BELIEVE SOME OF IT LIKE THE HIRSCHPRUNG'S WAS EXAGERRATED;BUT I DO HAVE CHRONIC CONSTIPATION. DID HAVE A COLONOSCOPY DONE ON 01/04/2012 AND ALL IS CLEAR.
550622 tn?1247656720 Stress affects your adrenal glands, which is related to your pituitary glands and your thyroid, stress can cause havoc on the adrenal glands, especially long term chronic stress, which in turn can cause adrenal insufficiency. I cannot post websites on here for you anymore, as whoever owns this website has yelled at me for doing so, but go to johns hopkins hospital website and do a search there on "adrenal insufficiency". Good luck.
Avatar f tn Whether you are pre or post SVR, my advice is to support your body with the best nutrition and target your adrenals in particular as those are the glands that bear the brunt of the strain.
Avatar f tn It has helped a little bit, but I still feel so fatigued and weak. She also started me on calcium and vitamin D supplements. Happily, my thyroid biopsy came back benign. I have been on the higher dose of hydrocortisone since July 6, but I thought I'd feel much much better by now. I'm also accumulating fat under my chin and around my abdomen. Will I ever feel normal again?
Avatar f tn I am 26 years old and for the last couple of years I've been feeling like **** and swore to myself it must have been my thyroid because it was a bit enlarged. But my TSH, FT3, FT4 keep coming back normal. Now that I think about my symptoms, could it be my adrenal glands instead of my thyroid. I don't know anything about adrenal glands disorders but it seems to be similar to thyroid symptoms.
Avatar n tn If you are taking a high dose of thyroid replacement, it will cause adrenal fatigue eventually for many people. Thyroid and adrenal hormones must maintain a specific balance in the body.
Avatar n tn The Pituitary gland - Thyroid gland - Adrenal glands - and the Sex Hormone glands. These are the 4 things when a hormonal imbalance is happening and they each require testing. All four can put out the same symtpoms on a patient so they all need to be looked at both in a whole system and as seperate issues. You need blood work and even a possiblity of a saliva test.
Avatar n tn Just curious but have you been having what feels like panic attacks and feel overwhelmed with stress?
Avatar f tn Hello! I've had tests done for my thyroid, results came back fine. I wasent aware of adrenal glands; it seems like I'm having the effects of that so ill mention it to my doctor. My friend who has diabetes has checked my sugar levels frequently - he says it could be my sugars, as I'm always reading at the lower levels.
4274823 tn?1388529098 DHEA is a precursor for male and female hormones. Levels, typically, start declining after the age of 30. Supplementing too much can theoretically increase the risk of prostate, breast, ovarian, and other hormone-sensitive cancers. Many doctors won't test DHEA and even more don't believe in adrenal insufficiency.
Avatar n tn Have you checked your adrenal glands? I have had shortness of breath for years and finally doctors are thinking of my adrenals, which from first lab results appear very depleted. Waiting for more results but it appears I have adrenal fatigue.
