Avatar m tn but I was still having problems with my periods and irregular bbt...so thought of going for acupuncture to naturally regulate thyroid hormones...took a thyroid profile/TFT test...
Avatar f tn ) I am gluten intolerant, I drink only filtered water, and I love doing meditation and having acupuncture. I saw a great naturopath a few years back who helped me change my diet and understood my stressors. These things help but aren't the be all and end all. My body will still do what it wants regardless of how I treat it kindly and nicely. I find that LISTENING to my body far more important than obtaining advice from here there and everywhere.
Avatar f tn So please tell us about any other symptoms you have. Also, what thyroid med are you taking and what is the daily dosage? Please post your most recent thyroid related blood test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report. If tested for Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin please post those results as well.
Avatar f tn She went on the macrobiotic diet and used acupuncture regularly and never had another problem. Just one case, but it is one. On the other hand, has a doctor diagnosed your gall bladder problem or just the acupuncturist? An acupuncturist's diagnosis is related to energy or qi, not necessarily disease. Only a doctor can diagnose disease. How you choose to treat it is your choice.
Avatar m tn My Wife had her Thyroid removed about 10 years ago, she has been on Levothyroxine and seems to be very stable. However she has developed alergies that seem to be getting worse. She can't touch, chocloate, cheese, sugar, alcohol. She also seems to be getting worse in the summer with Pollen etc. Is this a common side effect of Thyroid removal and can she do any thing other than avoid these. She is on daily anti alergy tablets.
Avatar f tn I had history of falling on my neck and suffering from spondiolitis - I am over 65 yrs and on thyroid treatment with levothyroxin. I have atrophied neck muscle which hurts while I am watching tv or at computer. I am fine when I am walking. I have shaking of my neck like essential tremor. I was advised to use aspercreme or betablocker. Can betalblocker be combined with my thyroid medicine or can I undergo acupuncture?
Avatar f tn No the extra thyroid medication will not go to the baby. It is only usuable in YOUR body and thyroid. Thousands of women have breastfeed their babies whilst taking thyroid medication and the babies are fine. You try the extra help, but ultimately you will need thryoid hormones to help you. The acupuncture etc is something I do too, and I know it helps me to relax and cope with my hyper symptoms. It is not a replacement though for the medication.

1001981 tn?1293978481 Along with finding the right medsto what I needed to stabilze my thyroid situation - acupuncture totally rocks and balanced the rest of my issues. I will never forget my last visit and I wish I had the money to go often. You will not believe the benefits it offers. There are key points for everything. You may be suprised that they may not look at Fibro so much. It's not a named issue in this line of therapy.
Avatar f tn Hello! I am having acupuncture for hypo/hashimotos thyroid issues. I do feel some better, but it is a slow process. I also am on a restricted gluten free/dairy free diet and drink herbs prescribed for me. What kind of results may I hope to see? And what is the time /treatments to see major improvements? Is there anything I should discuss or ask my acupuncturist to aid in my healing process? Thank you very much!
484482 tn?1319378880 If so what are the signs and symptoms and can it be treated? I have a family member who was diagnosed today...Any input is greatly appreciated...
Avatar f tn There is traditional acupuncture and electro-acupuncture. Acupuncture is a painless treatment unless you visit an untrained or inexperienced acupuncturist.
469186 tn?1207183289 I'm sorry to hear your af showed. It sounds like you've been on quite a journey. My af showed this morning (at least I think it's af, light bleeding, no cramps, odd menses, but my bbt has gone up!) I'm supposed to have a HSG this week. So I'm waiting to see what my temp does tomorrow. After my m/c in Sept, I had my thyroid checked (TSH - 4.99 / T4 - 15 / T3 - 4).
Avatar n tn After finding the right medication and getting my thyroid levels under control, I still have terrible symtoms of fatigues, chest pain, body aches, I'm shaky, my joints swell in the morning and the lower part of my legs and feet hurt when I work out. I want to know if having hashimots disease can also cause you to have lups?
Avatar m tn I have been on a combination of synthroid and cytomel for over 3 years. Just recently I have really been in a lot of pain all over my body including burning sensations in many parts of the body including the face at different times. I work out daily and I go to a naturopathic doctor who gives me acupuncture and adjustments. My endo recently told me that the pain isn't from the medication. My naturopath says it is.
Avatar f tn I want to know if acupuncture can help my bradycardia or is there medicine to speed it up a little ps my blood pressure is around 110 over 75 most of the time
974371 tn?1424653129 I was actually referred for acupuncture by and ENT doctor. I had never been and was skeptical. Went to a good one here in town (who is also an MD). Due to all the mouth/throat issues, I now deal with anxiety. I can't necessarily say I notice any more saliva production but it has helped with anxiety. Unfortunately, as this one doctor was an out of service provider, I had to switch to another acupuncture doctor. I can't say I get the same positive effects from this latest one.
628735 tn?1273875777 Benefits of Acupuncture During Fertility Treatment The theory behind the mechanism of improvement is that acupuncture helps to reduce stress and increase circulation to the uterus and pelvic organs, which aids in ovarian stimulation and implantation. Acupuncture is also thought to have an effect on the hypothalamic-pituitary axis, which may increase hormones, which play a vital role in the reproductive process.

1297184 tn?1289787161 the months of treatment and drugs is exhausting, not to mention expensive. But I hope and pray the acupuncture and herbs bring us a BFP :) SSBD to you!
1268796 tn?1332893451 I did acupuncture 30 minutes before and immediately after on our first IVF and I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Can't say acupuncture made the difference but I did it because several friends were successful on second attempt when acupuncture was the only added change to the cycle. I spoke with me RE about it and he recommended it as well.
Avatar f tn from what i understand, acupuncture helps with reducing stress levels and aligning your body to assist with conceiving, im not sure that it makes you more fertile but helps your body to deal with the pressures of trying to conceive. probably best to chat with someone who specialises in acupuncture for fertility and see what they say (keep in mind they will most likely tell you they can get you pregnant but they cant actually guarantee it, its all about timing).
