I fainted just the other day an have been throwing up so i went to the doctor an im not pregnant but he told me i have keytones in my urine an asked if diabetes run in the family i was just wondering what keytones are?

ketones in ur urine means sugar which i had when i had gestational diabetes (although ketones will be present when had severe throwing up and dehydration) and protein means possibly a urinary tract infection.

Throwing up can cause ketones from dehydration. Dehydration can cause premature contractions. I would time the pain...if less than 10 minutes. Go! If not try drinking lots of water.

After further thought, no exercise over 250 mg/dl comes to mind if ketones are present in the urine because you will further increase ketones in your blood which then may lead to DKA [diabetic ketoacidosis]. DKA can lead to serious health consequences such as coma.
