I called my Dr and he said I might of popped a blood vessel in my throat from throwing up, but since I'm toxemic I have a chance for my blood platelet count to drop so if it keeps happening I need to go in

D! Our area has only the swine flu running through it right now which is nerve racking. I'm thinking my husband is showing some of the symptoms but the fever isn't above 100.9 so I'm not too sure. We took him in to the ER and they confirmed it was flu (doc said it was too early for any other type flu and that it was Swine flu. He said that was what they were seeing). 2 days later we took him back to the ER alarmed because we could not get his temperature down. It got as high as 105 and fluctuated between 102-103 even with giving him the Children's Motrin and Tylenol. They took another chest x-ray and saw a pocket of pneumonia and wanted to admit him.

i went to the er when 7 weeks preg. and they said since im preg and think its the flu or swine flu,they treated me for the swine and being pregnant does make it worse...i was so sick and didnt want to go anywhere for about 2 weeks,and if they perscribed you tamiflu...that made me start throwing up....i hope all is well and you get feelin better sooner.

Hi charley no blood tests. You just ring up the swine flu hotline and give them your symptoms and they usually say yes it is swine flu. My daughter is poorly again today but she has water infection as well as a cough so feels quite rank, but then she is prone to colds and coughs. They wont give her antibiotics for her cough as the swine flu hotline says she has swine flu so thats it really. No blood tests just her symptoms. Madness isnt it.

Besides I personally think they made more out of the swine flu than necessary. More people die of regular flu strands and pneumonia than the swine flu. Now... being a thyroid patient means you need to supplement well and build your body up. Our bodies don't always absorb nutrients as it should so it is important to supplement.

Hi all, Haven't been here in a bit. Life is full. I am having lots of issues with Copaxone, with even my eye getting lots of inflammation from the reaction I have been having. I am using steroid eye drops which is helping. Not sure what my next step is with the Copaxone will be, but I am still doing it every day. Today is the 6 month anniversary of my moms death, and I have been having a bit of a tough time mentally still with my loss of her and my MS. I am sure sadness is normal.

what do you mean spitting up blood?... throwing up blood??.... maybe a cut in your mouth??.. any blood EVER is a bad sign that you need to go to the ER.... if your throwing up blood then it means something is going on with your insides and needs to be checked ASAP.

This does not relate to lyme at all but I am worried. My 5 year old son woke up this morning feeling very sick. He's feverish, red eyes, congested, weak, and fatigued. Of course the first thing I think of is swine flu. How would I know if he had just a reg virus or swine flu? I'm really worried about him and of course it's Sat. so the drs is closed. It never fails! I tried to take care myself the best i could especially right now Swine Flu is around... My daughter school has 19% of kids having Swine Flu... I do afraid my daughter might bring the flu home.. so I have to be cautious by making her wash her hand all the time and using hand sanitizer often... stay way from all her friends who have Swine flu even they said it's over and they came back to school... Our immune system are weak and virus can attack us anytime and very quick...

First, the swine flu is just like the regular flu and is treated just like the regular flu. It has been around for a long time and you may have been exposed to this particular strand in the past. Don't sweat it! If you do end up getting sick, just see your doctor and get better!

Mumps is rare but not really rare in children. It's contagious unfortunantly...it's almost like the swine flu. Somebody coughs and your breathe in their germs. Personally I would rather have the swine flu.

Strongly suggest everyone worldwide with HCV patients to get the swine flu shot. If this was a small taste of the swine flu. My honest opinion us HCV would not make it. I recommend you speak to your doctor(s) opinion to get the swine flu shot. I have improved today. And well worth it.

I've had my Nissen Fundoplacation done back in 2000 due to the fact that my stress levels had gotten so bad that I was throwing upto 300 times a day & if it wasn't coming up it was shooting out. That was the year that it was determined that I was lactose intolerant again.
