I have a dog who has thrown up almost every 12 hours for the past 2 years. He's had every test in the book, blood, urine, endoscopies of both ends, and more blood tests. Repeatedly.
There is no reason for it that we know of. Our vet calls these dogs "Puker Dogs", and said that work ups often show no discernible cause. Of course, you HAVE to do the work ups to be sure its not something serious, first of all, as you are doing.
Is your throat raw? Have you been throwing up a lot? Either way I'd tell your doctor, if you're throwing up that much that your throat is raw you should probably get checked out!
Prior to throwing up I drank maybe 12 ounces of water. The blood was, in my estimate, a few ounces in volume. It also came out of my nose which was fairly odd to me. Did I just tear something or does it indicate something more serious? I'm sure I drink more than some but less than most. It might be worth mentioning that I also drink alot of water - at least 64 ounces of water during the day. Any ideas?
I looked down and there was actually blood in the bowl where I was thowing up in. Anyone think I should be super worried. I have a hernia, so they say on top of the gallstone that he took out and then the 2nd surgery to correct some of the first one. I'm feeling ok today, just tired as normal but I figured that is due to the fentanyl patch since I've only been on it for a couple of weeks. But I didn't know how worried I should be about this? What do you guys think?
Could be blood from your throat due to stomach acid coming up. If it's a lot of blood then go in.
Well i have been throwing up a lot these past weeks and he said i could of broke a blood vessel and that's why it happened.

If you're throwing up blood you probably need to go to the hospital. You're probably dehydrated hun. I threw up everyday at least 2 times until I was 28 weeks, and was in the hospital 5 times for dehydration. Dehydration can lead to preterm labor, which is no good at 23 weeks. If you don't want to go in right away I'd call your dr and see what they say to do.

Sounds like it might just be acid related, which is very common in pregnancy. Are you burping a lot, have a funny taste in the back of your throat? Does your stomach wake you at night? If so, try sleeping elevated and try taking tums and minimizing acid-causing foods in your diet. Apples and bananas are great natural acid-reducers.
Definitely mention to your doc, too. Call if it becomes too cumbersome before your next appointment or if you don't feel well.

My 11 lb male Toy poodle is throwing up blood. Its mixed with yellow bile and some times its light red ,or orange. he wants to eat grass then throws up. Hes eating regularly, drinks water, plays is his normal self but has been throwing up blood every few days now. It was every day until a friend who is a vet tech told me to try worm medicine. now hes throwing up less frequently but still is. Im worried about him. I dont have the money for alot of tests so I hope you can help me. Thank you.
