Common Questions and Answers about Throwing up after taking medication

Avatar f tn I am 9 weeks pregnant and I was prescribed the medication to help with morning sickness and every time I've taken it I feel great but today I'm still throwing up after taking it and I can't take a nap because my 2 yr old is wide awake and I have no one to watch her. What should I do?
12679876 tn?1426981493 I have an 8 year old male cat who started throwing up yellow bile on Saturday. I got him to drink a little tuna juice and he acted like he wanted to eat dry food but only ate one piece and that was after several times of picking it up and putting it back down. All test results from the vet came back normal. No bacteria. He did have blood in his stool. But no infection. No temp, and barely dehydrated. He's going in for a teeth cleaning tomorrow because he had severe tartar build up.
Avatar f tn Tuck, Melissa, and Alison No more throwing up, but I woke up with a new symptom today, a horrible migraine, which I never get. Can anyone tell me why my head is hurting so bad that now I feel that I need the ER department again. I took my vicodin, but it is not helping at all. I just don't know why this is happening, my doctor appointment with the specialist is on the 30th but I think I may need to move it up.
Avatar f tn Hi. My question concerns the long-term effects of having taken excess medication previously.
1390847 tn?1344661068 I have severe anxiety of throwing up and ive had it for as long as i can remember. As i age, however, it gets a lot worse. Ive missed a lot of school, my grades are dropping, and my panic attacks and the stress and anger of it all has made me develope depression too. I recently started Lexapro but its not very helpful. Has anyone been successfully treated? Are there any medications without all the bad side effects and risks?
Avatar n tn My 8 month shih tzu has been throwing up bright yellow bile every other day. Sometimes he throws up in the middle of the night, but most of the time it is between 10 and 3 in the afternoon. We have recently switched his food from beneful (which his old owners had him on) to Innova Evo with chicken. I have read that this is caused by an empty stomach. He eats twice a day, and most times when he throws up he has food down, he just isnt eating it. But he seems to enjoy the food when he eats it.

Avatar m tn I told the neurologist this and he said it could be seizures and wrote me a prescription for oxcarbazepine (trileptal) and left it up to me of when I wanted to start it. 10 days after the appointment and after the EEG (showed a small abnormality in brain waves) and MRI (showed up negative).
Avatar f tn I became very weak and deep breathing was impossible for those first 45 minutes. For the next 45 minutes (so now 46-90 minutes after taking the pill), the pain began to let up very little by little. I swore I would never take another 100mg Strattera again, as I had waited at least 24 hours before taking it. After those 90 or so minutes, I was still weak and it was difficult to talk.
Avatar m tn It was really tough to decide if I should go bUT after throwing up I felt better. It was a good 4 hours before I started to feel normal again. That was the worst pain I have ever felt. Horrible. I know for sure it was the T3s. Thank you to everyone who posted their stories.
497348 tn?1283439666 I am now Hyperthyroid with a level that cant even be picked up in the lab report because I am taking to much replacement.... I was then said to have anxiety which is funny because I have never had anxiety my whole life.. but I mean I do get anxious in situations like standing in front of a class and what not... But my question is has anyone been through this same situation... and could this thyroid hormone be causing the anxiety...
Avatar f tn My mom suggested to stop taking the prenatals since I'm taking prenatals, folic acid, iron, and calcium pills and so far I've brought it down to throwing up 3 or 4 times a week. I use to throw up 4 times everyday. Ask your doctor though, see what they say mine was not helpful.
1390847 tn?1344661068 Anyone on medication/have coping techniques that work? Im currently taking Pristiq 100mg which is the worst medication I have ever been on. I have an appointment to switch meds tomorrow.
222369 tn?1274478235 Yes, my neck really hurt and there was no doubt I needed pain medication, .....but I continued taking them because they covered up my emotional pain. I was also getting older and didn't have the energy I used to. The pain pills made me feel younger. I could get so much done on them ........ at least in the beginning.
Avatar n tn I had an incident of cardiac vasospasm 8-11-07 after taking Imitrex. The cardiac cath revealed a 55% blockage in LAD. In addition to throwing away my Imitrex, my new cardiologist placed me on Cardia XT 120mg and Lovastatin 10mg. My problem since being placed on the cardiac medications (it seems) is frequent nausea and occasional vomiting. Is there a relation? Are there medications or remedies that I might discuss with my doctor as an alternative?
Avatar f tn have taken it for 4 years .. have never had a problem. a while back, when i tried Armour brand .. half hour after taking it i started throwing pvc's. after two days liket this.. went to cardiac hospital.. was told i was throwing them.. they were not overly concerned.. and that it would go away. it did go away... but now.. i am left with this fear. when i spoke at length with the compounding pharmacy pharmacist, he told me that ALL formulations of t3 and t4 are generally the same..
Avatar m tn Was given Safolak and Saflak suppositories to start, did nothing, It kept getting worse, was given predisone, could not keep it down (throwing up) was admited to the hospital....stayed for 2 weeks and received predisone injections, slowly improved but not completely. Was started on Remicade. Have had two Remicade injections, and my UC is "fine" however I have had to postpone my 3rd injection (Feb 4) because I came down with pneonomia...
Avatar f tn Taking the medication is a personal choice, you should do what is best for you and if your doctor says it's safe than it's safe. My medication hasn't been tested on pregnant women so there wasn't a way to know unless my baby was the guinea pig. And I didn't feel like dealing with any emotional stuff on top of hormones that changing the medication would've surely put me through. I've been medication free for three weeks and so far so good. I'm lazy that's the only thing I've noticed.
Avatar f tn he was pretty shocked to hear that I have been taking between 4 and 10 everyday for that past 3-4 years. I explained that if I don't take them I feel sick and actually vomit (as I had been all morning today). It is only an over the counter medication to make you not sick. The ones I take are Dimenhydrinate tablets BP 50mg. I am not addicted to them I just need them medically. I have stomache issues, and I also take Zantac depending on what I eat 1-2 or 3-4 every night.
Avatar f tn My doctor wants to add Rhodiola to the mix cause it has a synergistic effect and will help with my dooms day feelings and stress. I will be taking half a 150mg pill and then moving up. Is this okay? I have read that its okay and that there are no interactions with other meds..and I have read other people say don't mix them and its a bad idea. Maybe I can take the Rhodiola first after waking up and then Celexa a couple hours after that..Anyone have advice???
Avatar f tn it deppends on how far along you where, i had a misscarriage at 10 weeks and it was really painfull i went to the hospital cause i was having really bad contractions and really near also i was bleeding so heavily that the blood when i was layng down ran up to my neck and when i went to the bathroom i pushed out the placenta and i was also throwing up allot, they gave me some demerol in the hospital wich calmed the pain then the doctor cheked me and i was already dilatated and had a D/C with g
Avatar n tn ) She said it was no wonder I was feeling that way, that I was overmedicated and told me I should stop taking my medication for 3 days and to then start up again with .25 of Synthroid. I followed her advice but within 3 days of taking the .25 dose I was again having the same problems. I contacted my GP again and she said I should quit taking it for 6 weeks until my body clears everything out and she will retest at that time.
639543 tn?1297031234 I was kinda a little out of it on the Operating table, but after that I was fine. I saw my baby right after she was cleaned up. They took her to the nursery to be checked by doctors and then 2hrs later or so they dropped her off with me and that was that. Ive had her ever since.
Avatar f tn I was sick up to my 19th or 20th week yeah it was completely dreadful. I woke up in the morning and threw up, after every meal, before bed, in the middle of the night, couldn't eat till 4 or 5 pm and that's after shoving food down my throat and hoping I would not throw up. But I never once turned to meds I had three different doctors prescribe me Zofran and I refused.
Avatar n tn After careful consideration, I realized the benefits of taking the medication outweighs the overall risk, and for my continued health, and the health of the baby, it would be in my best interest to take the medication. I have regular ultrasounds and prenatal appointments, and so far, the baby is doing fine. I feel so guilty at times for taking medication while pregnant, but it's like my doctor says, it's either that, or traction. Good luck!
