throwing up after flu shot

I got the flu shot and after 2 weeks I went to my dr and she said I had the stomach flue.. so I would go to your dr to get checked. ..

I know its supposed to help the baby come flu season but im so regretting it right now! Ive been extremely sick for the last 3 days- throwing up, diarrhea, whole body aches, and extreme tiredness...on top of already not feeling good. Im so over it. Im trying to remember the positive but right now im having a hard time.

The flu shot is a good idea. The flu shot makes your body create antibodies which are what fight off infections, if you end up getting the flu, your body will recognize it immediately and can help you not get as sick or run as high of a temperature which is bad for your baby. The flu shot will not make you "sick" though you make get more tired because your immune system is working overtime to create it's defense mechanism against the flu. (= I got it and I have yet to get sick.

I got the flu shot as fevers can cause brain damage to baby! I keep reading though that the flu shot this year isnt effective to the strains that are making everyone sick right now... so never hurts to call the dr to see what they want you to do. Better to be safe than sorry!

On Saturday night, I ate a bowl of soup and threw up everything after couple hours. And before I threw up , i get hurt it my stomach and get headache.I believe that I didnt eat the possion food because my family had ate the same thing that I did. On sunday, i dont feel hungry since i hadnt eat anything. I ate a little rice then I threw up again after couple hours and get stomach pain.. The samething happen to me again on monday ..Can you please help me with that problem? I dont know what to do.

The flu shot isn't as strong this year. We found that out after we got ours.

While I have never gotten a flu shot before I am throwing around the idea of getting it this year just because I am pregnant. I haven't talked to my OB about it, but I think I am going to ask about it at my next appointment just to get her views on it. I understand where you're apprehensive because I'm feeling the same way, but to look back at last year at all of the nasty cases that were in my area I would hate to deal with that as well.

Anyone e get the flu from the flu shot? I'm getting mine Friday and I've never had one before but I got the flu with my last son and was So sick for 3 weeks I lost the 20 lbs I gained and a extra 10. My son was born at 35 wks with iugr. So I defense want to get it to be safe this.

Well that is good that u do not get a bad reaction from it...I know someone that had always gotten sick after getting the shot...I never got it and don't get the flu....so I am praying that streak will continue to work for me : ) I am also overweight....and want to lose, but have a diff time doing normal exercises.....even walking can be too much at times...I have another condition which I recently had surgery and I am still recouping.

I've just gotten over the flu, I had it last week and didn't throw up until the next week. That was about three or four days ago I only threw up twice and it was very little. The medication they had me on was hydrocodone and tamiflu. I haven't had any more symptoms of the flu I feel better,but I still fear of throwing up.

Yes it can happen.. sounds like a stomach bug. Have you gotten your flu shot yet? I just got mine and they give you a " special " flu shot for preggo mommy's. I would drink plenty of water, and get as much rest as possible. But do keep in mind, as for my self, diarrhea + throwing up is common in pregnancy. I experiencedo it a month ago . Still experiencing the throwing up. "Morning sickness" but when in doubt call your ob midwife.

I have 9/days to go and lately everyday I been throwing up as soon as I ate my breakfast this morning 5 mins later it came back up

I called my Dr and he said I might of popped a blood vessel in my throat from throwing up, but since I'm toxemic I have a chance for my blood platelet count to drop so if it keeps happening I need to go in

Well you cannot get the flu from the flu shot itself because they give you a dead flu but it is possible to still get the flu after you've gotten the shot. It will not be nearly as bad as if you didn't get the shot. If you think you are having flu symptoms, call your doctor or get checked out because it can still be serious even after the flu shot and they need to treat it.

absolutely not. there's quite a bit of alcohol in it. my husband is 170 lbs and one shot made him loopy as hell lol. but I don't see how NyQuil would help you throwing up and your body hurting. I'd call your doc.

t get the flu shot because my husband was rushed to the ER after he got one. He developed the flu that turned into pneumonia very quickly. It was horrible and nearly killed him. I took my shot on Friday like always right before bed and a hour later was throwing up and have had to force myself to eat all week. Of course it is Friday again and I feel ok but have muscle aches. I'm a nurse and with 100% certainty can tell you that you did not get the flu or any illness from the flu shot. It's not a live virus. There is a chance to get another strain of the flu that the virus isn't covered by the current vaccine. In any case I would say you should call your doc as it is more likely complications from your recent c section.

My doctor keeps telling me that I should get the flu shot im 24 weeks pregnant and everytime I got the flu shot before I was pregnant I would always get sick im not sure if I should get one because I can't take meds.

According to my research and knowledge flu shots not only have the ability to make u sick and have been associated with higher miscarriage rates. I chose not to take it and will continue to do so because I find it an unnecessary vaccination that a healthy preg. woman can do without. I suggest you look in to it more before caving in to the pressure.
