i was a bit sceptical, he offered to do a strep throat test but he didnt think it was strep throat as my throat is fine, so we didnt do the test.
However over the last 3 days i have developed red areas on the inside of my lips and also above my upper teeth, not red around my teeth but further up. its also quite inflamed. i still have the sores at the back of my throat but my toncit area is now also red. im worried of gingervitis (sorry abou that spelling!

back at the beginning of April this year I had a sore throat, I looked and saw I had a few ulcers/blisters in the back of my throat, I have never had these before, and they weren't there previous to that, I had just come off Omeprazole which I had been taking for acid reflux, and had been on them for 9 weeks.I had also just come off Yasmin contraceptive pill that i had been taking for around 8 years.
I took a photo of it ( attached as a file ).
I am 26 years old, male.
I can barely eat or even swallow water. The pain is too much.
What bothers me the most are the white spots scattered around the throat, as can be seen from the photo.
I think the family doctor didn't notice those white spots cause they might not be visible when I say AAHHH ... but clearly visible when I inhale air.
I have no fever.
The family doctor has purscripted me antibiotics.
One main cause of acid hypersecretion is infection of stomach with Helycobacter pylori bacterium - diagnosis is with urea breath test and, if positive, treatment is with antibiotics.
Nexium, prevacid and other acid-lowering drugs may be just OK but they alone would not help if you have H. pylori infection.

4 days since that treatment and its all calmed down now.
Part of the illness included an infection in the throat. The infection was cleared up with antibiotics but i was still very tired for a few weeks.
Could this have been acute infection? Do people ever get sore throat that clear up with antibiotics during the window period? I know that antibiotics don't help viral infections but I wonder if it could have been an opportunistic infection. Is it common to have opportunistic throat infections during the acute phase?
I got fully tested for all STI's including HIV almost 2 months ago. During that time I was sleeping with my "bf" unprotected but was routinely getting tested and even tested after our relationship ended. I was negative. However, a month ago I slept with this guy I met on tinder (my bf and I had stopped sleeping together). I've always used condoms when I slept with anyone else (besides my bf of course).
I developed mouth ulcer 30 yeas ago. I had them everyday for years. Then had upper GI done. They found my sphincter doesn't close all the way. Treat was Prilosec (omeprisole) for 14 day and swish with Maalox to heal. That has work up until about a month or so ago. Now they are in my throat and the said treatment doesn't seem as affected. I view it as I caught a virus and is activate when you have a gastric episode. I had an EMT look at my throat. He said he saw healing and no concerns.

Gastric cancer show up on CT scans. I would suggest an upper GI endoscopy test to see if dudenal ulcer has healed and a biopsy /breath test to diagnose H.pylori infection.
Treatment of H. pylori can sometimes worsen acid reflux symptoms.
On Feb 1 I developed a severe red scratchy throat, and I still had several mouth ulcers. I took Augmentin 500 3x/day for 10days. After the 10days I still had a sore throat that feels like an ulcer down my throat, and I also still had about 10 mouth ulcers as well as swollen gums. I went to my Internal MD and he put me on Medrol dose pack and Levaquin. This initially helped w/ the mouth ulcers but the one down my throat got much worse. I was given a Celestone inj and put on Orapred.
Pylori is the cause of 70-80% stomach ulcers although many people have this bacteria in their system and do not have ulcers. One of the drugs in your treatment was probably Prilosec (omeprezole) which can cause some of the complaints you have. After taking Prilosec, which stops much of the production of gastric acid, you can have "rebound" excess acid. Were you diagnosed with ulcers? I'm not a dr., but what you described doesn't sound like ulcers.
And I feel something is attaching with my throat inside . Sometime throat feel dry .9 years ago I got pharyngitis and I took treatment. from childhood I had regular tonsil pain . 8 years ago because of infection surgically my tonsils are removed . I didnt feel any problem after removing these many years but last 4 months I got problem regularly .some doctor advised this is pharyngitis and I took antibiotics , then penicillin medicine and allergy medicine but no improvement .
i started using antibiotics and paracetamol for 10 days , throat was healed and also temperature is getting better . i got no rash no ulcers no swollen glands .. does this sound like primary aids symptoms and do i have to be tested ...
then i developed a sore throat again and noticed some ulcers or bumps around my tonsils. Thet were like ***** pockets. Sometimes the pus would go away and it seems to be cured and then again the pus rebuilds and it causes pain and these ***** bumps wont go away. m still having GERD symptoms - burning abdomen, stomach tender to the touch when poked, acid reflux, lump in throat, burning up back of throat, excessive belching and gas..I've also had diarrhea since the symptoms started almost a year ago.
I'm worrying that it's gastric cancer. Three months ago I had two ct scans of the abdomen. One with just iodine contrast and another with both iodine contrast and barium swallow. Both came back fine. Would gastric cancer show up on the ct scans?
But wouldnt my whole throat hurt when i swallow and not just one side of my throat...what can this be if just one just hurts when i swallow, the right side. what do you think that bump is on the right side of my mouth that has what looks like a canker sore on it?
Ive had plenty of canker sores before but they are flat ones. This time its on a bump on the side of my inside cheek?
odds are this is a yeast infection from the antibiotics you were given. The ones you were put on so far are better at causing yeast overgrowth in the genital area than they are at treating infections in the genital area :(
did they do any actual testing of your discharge or just throw the wrong antibiotics at you in hopes that it helped?
While waiting to get in I continued to get worse. Heartburn, throat feels like its on fire, chest pain, acid taste, indigestion, burping, acid coming up every time I burp. Finally got in to the gastro dr. He put me on protonix, and scheduled me for an EGD and Gastric Emptying Test. Both came back fine, but still feel horrible. Went back to the gastro today to follow up. He changed my dose of protonix, and said to see how that worked.
