I agree with AnnieBrooke - you need to be seen by a different doctor! And preferably an ear, nose and throat doc! When you have a throat so sore that you can barely swallow, can't eat at all and have ulcers on your tonsils, SOMETHING definitely needs to be done! Did your doc even bother to do a strep test or anything? Strep throat can also cause ulcers in the throat and mouth and strep is definitely something that neeeds to be treated with antibiotics.
I have something similar on my tonsils and I'm worried. There are at least 2 bumps on my tonsils that are smallish and kind of clear/skin colored. Any updates would be appreciated.
A little over a week ago, I perfomed oral sex to a friend of mine. I just noticed white spots at the back of my throat, namely the tonsils. They aren't inflamed or swollen, just white spots. they don't hurt or anything. Could this be tonsilitis or some kind of std/sti? no pain or discomfort as of yet, I'm planning to get them check out. but for a small peace of mind for now, can anyone tell me what they might be?

I first noticed these ulcers when I had a sore throat 3 months ago. I went to my GP and he told me they were either due to a viral or bacterial infection and would go on their own. He told me to gargle Corsodyl. I did and they haven't changed. I have also tried gargling salt water, L-lysine but nothing has helped at all.
Kind of the same feeling if you have an ulcer on your lip and something salty gets in it. This same sensation also occurs on the right side. I tried looking for any ulcers but because of the tonsils (like i said the pain feels like it´s behind the tonsils) i cannot see. At the moment the spot on the left side is constantly aching causing me a mild headache and earache.
My throat was examined by throat culture for angina but the test was negative.
Any update on this? Perhaps you have a throat ulcer? They probably swabbed it to see if it was bacterial or fungal. No results from that? But figuring out what this ulcer is from . . . You don't smoke do you? Do you gargle with salt water?
then i developed a sore throat again and noticed some ulcers or bumps around my tonsils. Thet were like ***** pockets. Sometimes the pus would go away and it seems to be cured and then again the pus rebuilds and it causes pain and these ***** bumps wont go away. Is it normal acne in my throat that we go get on face or is it something else. I also went to GP and again he prescribed antibiotics that didnt work, i told him so he changed the antiviotics twice..
gp diagnosed me with tonsilitis got tested same day at sex clinic and a week later tested positive for throat gonorrhea. symptoms were inflammed right tonsil with ulcers, fever, night sweats and sore throat-hard to swallow. gp diagnosed antibiotics and throat specialist booked me in for tonsilectomy on oct 17th. sex clinic prescribed antibiotic injection and 2 pills to take orally.
7 days since that treatment from sex clinic and its all calmed down now.
All sores are inside the mouth (none at all on the outside of the mouth or around the lips - ever), on the soft palate around the mouth and on the sides and underside of the tongue and below, not the gums and not inside the throat but on the soft palate of the throat - in front of the tonsils.
Except for a period when he went about 4 months without any problem, he gets the infections about every three to four weeks or so. On occasion, if his throat is only a little red, he will get over it on his own. But more often that not, his throat is very infected and ulcers develop so that he needs an antibiotic. He doesnt get Strep or Tonsilitis.

back at the beginning of April this year I had a sore throat, I looked and saw I had a few ulcers/blisters in the back of my throat, I have never had these before, and they weren't there previous to that, I had just come off Omeprazole which I had been taking for acid reflux, and had been on them for 9 weeks.I had also just come off Yasmin contraceptive pill that i had been taking for around 8 years.
May 12th I noticed white clumping around my tonsils, which I figured to be strep throat. I called my gynecologist and she prescribed me something called the Z pack. I started taking it that day.
May 14th all of the cultures and blood that the hospital and my gynecologist took came back negative for any STDs or HSV1 or HSV 2.
May 15th I saw my dermatologist who guessed that it might be Behcet's. She prescribed me prednisone and a topical cream for the ulcers.
Long story short, I was on vacation last week and went horseback riding for the first time Friday. I noticed after, I was so sore and uncomfortable. We flew home Saturday and Sunday i saw small ulcers on my vagina. One on my outer 'lip' and a couple on my perineum. No blisters, just sores. They aren't red or anything. Then I started to feel like I was getting a fever and I noticed my throat had white spots on my tonsils and it's hard to swallow.
another thing is that the pain was moving from side to side , for one two days were on the left, the next they were on right and the next on the center.

Last Friday I work up with a sore throat. I looked into my mouth and I could see an ulcer above my tonsils that was very red, that night I got the chills and night sweats very bad. The next day I got up and my tonsils both white spots all over them and were red. I went and saw the Doctor and they confirmed that I had strep throat. They put me on amoxicillin for the next 10 days I also have had night sweats for the past 6 nights.
2 days ago I developed a slight pain in my throat near my left tonsil. The pain is when I swallow and open my mouth wide. There is no visible ulcer or sore near the area so I'm assuming its my tonsils which are swollen.
Yesterday I visited a female sex worker and we kissed each other deeply. Because the pain near my tonsils was quite low I didn't think I was at risk for anything, at the end of the session I ejeculated in her mouth which she spat out.

hey folks - i am on my 8th week of 24 week tx with pegasys & copegus - i have some of the normal sx but all of a sudden i have a very sore throat, roof of mouth and sore, raw tongue. my tongue seems to be very dry and it burns. i still have my tonsils and think i have gotten tonsilitis (sore throat & hard to swallow) this has been going on for a week now - any suggestions? anyone experience this before?
Besides having white/red patches, my tongue also sometimes hurts and there were ulcers under my tongue and in my throat. The constant coughing causes trouble sleeping and malaise.
Before all of this I was a healthy person, never had tonsillitis nor a geographic tongue nor a chronic cough. My CRP and ESR levels have been fine all the time (even during the tonsillitis). Other blood tests were all fine as well. They did multiple swab tests (candida and some viral test they said), all negative.

I just wanted to let you know I'm not an ENT but the first time I ever saw this was on my daughters tonsils and her throat wasn't sore either. It was tonsilitis. She had her tonsils removed and it was caused from strep throat. Please believe me if it isn't coming off it is not food. My daughter said mom I have something white in the back of my throat. I looked and at first I thought it was food. I immediately took her to the Doc and they knew right away.
