I read that genital ulcers can be a sign of HIV. i was wondering what they look like, does anyone have pictures, or can they tell me how common this is? i recently discovered a couple blisters in my pubic region (above genitals, on inner thigh, and on shaft) totaling 4 in all. I at first thought this was acne, but upon closer examinations they appear to be reddish blisters filled with orangey liquid. is it possible this is just caused by irritation (such as ingrown hair?
On November 16, due to the efforts to cough I bleed a little bit. I noted dry throat and oral ulcers. And thrush (candida). I had my duo test for hiv and sifilis after 29 days from my first exposure being negative. The synthomps remain. I read that oral ulcers and thrush is connected with HIV. Could be other StD? I am in panic.

After the 10days I still had a sore throat that feels like an ulcer down my throat, and I also still had about 10 mouth ulcers as well as swollen gums. I went to my Internal MD and he put me on Medrol dose pack and Levaquin. This initially helped w/ the mouth ulcers but the one down my throat got much worse. I was given a Celestone inj and put on Orapred.

The HIV patient has sore throat and throat ulcers. Immediately without sterilizing the equipment, the doctor used the same spoon like equipment to check my throat. I am worried, whether I will get HIV infection. Please help. The spoon like equipment might have contacted the sore throat and throat ulcers of the HIV patient and it could have contacted me too. Please help with your suggestions.

We have the same sores and the same occurrence of them, but I am also getting the throat ulcers and he is not. In addition, I have noticed that I have had tonsilloliths for sometime, and I'm thinking that my tonsils are harboring some kind of bacteria or something. I've also wondered if it's possible that participating in oral activities could have made them occur more frequently on the throat.
I also have recently had issues with swallowing, to include medications. The ENT doctor put some numbing spray in my nose, then a camera down my nose into my throat to examine my throat etc...he concurs with the neurologists.
Now with that said, am I still just someone with neck and back issues? I probably more than likely failed to mention something, but I tried to list some issues I am dealing with.
Just yesterday I had a endoscopy done he gave me a copy of the report and told me to follow up with him in 2 weeks and after 2months he wanted to perform another endoscopy on me to make sure the ulcers go away. He took a biopsy of the 3 ulcers to make sure they werent cancerous and he assured me the type of ulcer i had is not cancerous, but he took a biopsy anyway.

back at the beginning of April this year I had a sore throat, I looked and saw I had a few ulcers/blisters in the back of my throat, I have never had these before, and they weren't there previous to that, I had just come off Omeprazole which I had been taking for acid reflux, and had been on them for 9 weeks.I had also just come off Yasmin contraceptive pill that i had been taking for around 8 years.
My guess is, that unless a swab test was taken from your throat that was positive for HSV 1, your doctor was covering all the possible diagnoses for ulcers in the throat and that would have to include HSV. Does your doctor know that you tested negative for HSV 1 repeatedly? Do you know if you had a swab test from the ulcers and what the result was?
This time I went to the doctor because the back of my throat also had ulcers. The doctor swabbed one of the ulcers and said she was gonna send it to be tested for herpes and for shingles. She said if they didnt call then the tests were negative. So I didn't get a call, the ulcers slowly went away, and I was relieved. However, in the past week and a bit the ulcers have been reappearing, and the glands in my neck are swollen and painful.
