I started having fever about 3 weeks back with swollen tonsils and ulcers. I was diagnosed strep throat and started taking medicines but after 4 days, my fever went up to 105-106 range. Test results showed no strep throat, flu, swine etc.
I rushed to emergency and they diagnosed me for Pharynogontonsillitis. For a week before I went to emergency I barely could swallow anything. I grew weak and they gave me Glucose by drip and also Decadron.
i went to the local clinic and the doctor told me it was herpes by looking at it, and gave me acyclovir 200g 4x a day for a week it cured my ulcers before the week is finished. on june 2013 i have another ulcers outbreak this time with a fever and its only on top and under my tongue. its mild compare to the first outbreak.i took acyclovir and it help to cure the ulcers. im having second though if it is really herpes. i dont see any blister forming before the ulcers appear.
I had protected intercourse with a women who was masturbating while we were having intercourse. I'm concerned as I had a few small ulcers on my mouth at the time and she recently had her period and had warned me that there may be blood prior to having intercourse. A week after the fatigue I developed a terrible neck stiffness and pain along with a sore throat. No fever. No rash. No ulcers that I could see. No vomiting or diarrhea. I am just now starting to feel better. The neck pain, sore throat, and fatigue were the worse. Tested for mono and strep both negative. I will test at 6 weeks and 12 but for now does that seem like ARS?
Sometimes he will have a runny nose as well but most of the time it is just the fever and lack of appetite that is present. His throat will be very red, and sometimes he has ulcers in his throat as well. His doctor says that it probably starts with a viral infection and then causes his throat to become very infected. The doctor also says that he could be picking up bacteria from his hands. Toddlers tend to put their hands in their mouths alot ( and my son ***** his thumb when he is sleepy).
i read some where that gargling salt water wud ease the throat pain but it made it even worse .. has any one heard of pple getting sore throat and throat ulcers as an ars symptom ?? or could it be some other oral std ( we engaged in deep kissing for about 30 minutes and she usually gives unprotected bj to all her other clients ..
I agree with AnnieBrooke - you need to be seen by a different doctor! And preferably an ear, nose and throat doc! When you have a throat so sore that you can barely swallow, can't eat at all and have ulcers on your tonsils, SOMETHING definitely needs to be done! Did your doc even bother to do a strep test or anything? Strep throat can also cause ulcers in the throat and mouth and strep is definitely something that neeeds to be treated with antibiotics.
4 days after I noticed my throat getting dry. Days went by and it was the same dryness. 12 days later I see my throat is inflamed. Doc said negative for strep. Waiting on my herpes simplex throat culture to come back. Sometimes I get a headache. But no fever. Could this be throat herpes or hiv ? I’m really worried. I keep drinking liquids and taking cough drops to help but the inflammation is still there and throat dryness. It’s not really sore. And it doesn’t hurt.
It started with mouth ulcers and feeling of fullness and swelling around the ear (towards the jaw) on my left side. The pain and pressure was almost unbearable. I went to the ent and he gave me an antibiotic and steroid. They helped and the pain went away for the week I was on them. As soon as I came off of the medicine the problems returned.
Next I went to the dentist thinking maybe I had a hidden tooth problem.
symptoms were inflammed right tonsil with ulcers, fever, night sweats and sore throat-hard to swallow. gp diagnosed antibiotics and throat specialist booked me in for tonsilectomy on oct 17th. sex clinic prescribed antibiotic injection and 2 pills to take orally.
7 days since that treatment from sex clinic and its all calmed down now. wondering when i can resume sexual activity and whether its still worth getting my tonsils out?
Long story short, I was on vacation last week and went horseback riding for the first time Friday. I noticed after, I was so sore and uncomfortable. We flew home Saturday and Sunday i saw small ulcers on my vagina. One on my outer 'lip' and a couple on my perineum. No blisters, just sores. They aren't red or anything. Then I started to feel like I was getting a fever and I noticed my throat had white spots on my tonsils and it's hard to swallow.
You do not have HIV, you have been already advised by the doctor, please accept it and move on.
Mouth ulcers are more likely to be caused by anxiety than what ever you think of and you don't feel sore throat, you know it is sore throat when you get it, it's absolutely awful.However, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to symptoms because you needed a risk for that, that is some thing you didn't have.
m 40 and two weeks ago had lower back surgery. I had a small fever blister but forgot about it. Two weeks go by and I noticed all these ulcers in my mouth along my cheek and back of the throat. I panicked and went to see the doc. He said it was the type 2 herpes but only gave me 2 valtrex pills at 1gm each. What's going on? Was this always inside me since I'd get fever blisters? I'm scared and frustrated and I'm scared I could passed this on to my gf.
After 2 weeks from exposure, i had runny nose and mouth and throat ulcers. The runny nose have gone except the mouth and throat ulcers and thus feeling a sore throat.
I am really worried. Should the ulcers and sore throat be combined with a rash or fever to be a symptom of hiv??
When can i take a typical antobody test the earliest time after exposure??
Then just a few days ago I got these slightly painful ulcers on my front gums, top and bottom, but they were very small in appearance and hard to see.
I went to an internal medicine MD who said looks like leukoplakia or could be fungus.
I saw an ENT doctor who didn't know what it was, but prescribed an oral steroid cream for the ulcers. It helped with the ulcers, but nothing else.
She also gave me some closed mouth kisses and one open mouth kiss where we touched tongues and she sucked my lip as she withdrew her mouth. I suffer from ulcers and bleeding gums.
my doctor said they are apthous minor he gave me a gel and vitamin but they didnt go away. also there was a week gap between ulcers and fever does that happen with hiv seroconversion.
2. does my normal cbc count suggest anything related to hiv this was done nearly 33 days after that encounter at the end of fever.
3. could these random red dots here and there be a hiv rash.
4. right now i dont have facility for hiv testing that is why i am writing to you.
I understand that if there are swollen lymph glands in ARS it is usually general and not localized and I as no trained provider cannot tell for real anyway. Fever went away at about 72-96 hours, sore throat about 96. Was able to work and just felt like I had flu. There was never any rash, nor muscle fatigue.
