It seems to always start with a heavy night of drinking and then waking up to a sore throat. I’ll have the sore throat, which hurts much worse when I swallow, for several days while also sneezing and having itchy eyes and nose. Then the post nasal drip coughing starts. I feel tickling in my throat so bad that it causes me to cough uncontrollably. I also have to blow my nose constantly as huge amounts of mucus is being produced.
See if you can get a prescription called omperazole it's for heart burn and acid reflux. I just got on it because of sore throats and it's amazing. Haven't had sore throat since. Worth a shot. It's safe to take.

i am on week 13 of tx and I am going on my 6th week of having a sore throat and can not get rid of it. I took antibiotics for 7 days and didnt help at all. My Lymph Nodes located behind the ears and my throat are so enlarged that they are very sore. My nose is congested and is constantly bleeding. Is anyone having this problem? and is their any releif? I m having ear pain and sore throat and also have sore mouth, my tounge, upper area of mouth and also hav pain behind the ears...been like this for a week now. I m worried as I had a pap smear wich came back with hpv and ascus and I also hav large fibroids wich I m getting treatment for. My great worry now is that is this sore throat related to hpv as hpv can also cause head and neck cancer. I will be glad if someone can help me on it.
I visited my boyfriend in Paris and he had a bad cough that would wake him up at night. But he didn't seem sick at all. Hi about 1 month and a half ago i performed oral sex on a stripper right of the bat my tongue kinda felt weird after i did it and about a week later i started getting a sore throat but i also started feeling like something was stuck in the back of my throat around the voice box area now the sore throat comes and goes but the feeling of something being stuck never went away so i have a hard time even trying to swallow my saliva but no problems with eating or drinking so am i just paranoid?
The aches and chills went away but the sore throat got worse. It really freaked me out. Drinking and eating was almost impossible. So I went days later and he gave me prednisone, which has been a life saver. That worked within hours.
Any chance this was an std? To my knowledge, the doctor didn't see any lesions. I am worried though. I spoke to the first woman and she said she went to the doctor as well with swollen lymph nodes and was given an antibiotic.

Okay I had figured out that my sore throat was a neck muscle problem also know as sternocleidomastoid syndrome and which I get referred pain in my throat and other symptoms. I have been stretching out that muscle and my sore throat problem has resolved. But my chest pain still persists and I am also a little constitpated. Also just to add I was a heavy drinker drinking almost everyday for the past 2 or 3 months. And after I would drink I would drink a lot of water.
Do they know what the shortness of breath is from? If you have a sore throat and the choking difficulty drinking ,eating soft foods ect. it could be from that stupid breathing tube!!!!! I had more TROUBLE from that than the surgery!! My throat was sore as hell for 4 days that is what I needed the pain meds for two days for!! HAHA! I've had strep, but just finished all my Amoxicillin for it! Today, I had tomato soup and a salad with tuna and lots of apple cider vinegar on it! Don't know if it was the vinegar or tomato soup or combination of both, but my uvula swelled up as did the surrounding area just a little bit, and my throat turned super red, as did like the back of the palate! It became really sore! That's been like hours ago but it's still swollen and uncomfortable.
