Avatar n tn It feels like something is wrapped around my throat restricking my throat. I also start to lose my voice late in the day, It seems like the more I talk the worse it gets. I seen an ear, nose and throat Dr. and he scoped my throat. He said that the plate from the fusion is pushing on my throat and has taken up the room that the vocal cords need and that they get inflamed. He feels the plate should be removed for it will cause more problem later.
Avatar m tn Is post nasal drainage a sign of throat cancer? 5: Does the weight loss, that happened over a 2 week period look concerning? Thank you for your insight!
Avatar m tn I went to see the throat osteopath and he massaged my throat -- yet afterwards my throat felt worse and was in more pain. I then went to see a voice specialist, who said that the pain and vocal sound quality was most likely caused by bad speaking habits, yet she couldn't figure out what they were. 6 2-hour sessions later my throat was no better. She suggested it is probably down to stress. So from here I went to see a hypnotherapist as a last resort.

Avatar n tn I have noticed on/off for several years that I get a sharp buzzing pain on the left side of my head in the throat area. It happens once in a great while where I will be fine one minute and then all of a sudden I get this sharp buzzing pain, then after a few seconds it goes away. I have only had this about 1-2x every 6months-1year but when it comes it is really painful and scares me. No other symptoms.
Avatar n tn the docter said ive poped a blood vessel in my throat, now ive lost my voice, why is this?
Avatar f tn Does GERD cause throat pain? I will just get this dull aching pain feeling in the bottom of my throat. I don't think it is from eating though. I usually get it when I am stressed or excited about something or I've noticed when I get really angry and arguing about something. Is this normal? It really concerns me because it makes me feel like it's something else since it only happens from emotions and stress and not eating.
Avatar f tn Hello all, About two weeks ago I got a sinus infectation. I took antibotics for it but on the second day of it I lost my voice. I couldn't talk at all. For 7 days I had no voice, they put me on steroids, and cough meds. Then I got it back, but was told not to talk to much. This is hard at my job because I am management. So, my voice has gone away agian. I also have a right lymph node that hurts. I want to know if anyone has any suggestions for what I can do to get my voice back.

Avatar f tn Hi, transient loss of voice and hoarse voice are the typical symptoms of laryngitis. It is inflammation of the larynx (voice box). It is mainly caused by virus and treatment depends on type of virus affected. Even serological tests will help to identify the responsible pathogens. It can be treated with appropriate anti viral.
Avatar f tn It can cause fungal infections, hoarseness, and temporary loss of voice. You may need to have a throat culture done to make sure you do not have a fungal infection. I am not saying that this is the only possible reason you have problems losing your voice, but I would put it at or close to the top of the list. Hope this helps!
1745395 tn?1342061753 Have any of you had experiences with a throat tickle, or loss of voice/voice that is followed by a cough/throat tickle that doesn't stop for about 2 to 3 minutes? As the voice change occurs the tickle starts and then coughing starts and continues for a bit. Drinking water does not help it, though a warm tea can aide a little bit, then after a bit it goes away.
Avatar m tn A couple of weeks ago I realized that i was having trouble hitting higher pitches when I was talking. It also feels like theirs something in my throat. Avatar f tn Sometimes the pain traveled through the back of my left ear. I feel like something is stuck in my throat. I did not have a fever. Sometimes I feel hot but when I took my temperature, it was normal around 98.6 F. My voice changes sometimes. My voice sounds hoarse when I just woke up. Is it thyroid cancer or hyperthyroidism?
Avatar f tn It feels like it is swelling and I am always without a voice. It feels like my throat is tight day and night for some reason. I do have breathing problems and I do not smoke. I have lost 60 pounds and my doctor is taking me off depression pills slowly. The only thing new in my home is my plants with fresh earth and none of them flower. It is hard enough to breathe but in the last while it is getting even harder. I can not go out in the humid weather or in the cold.
Avatar m tn A few days ago, while trying to belt out some higher notes, I hurt my voice. My voice is hoarse, and in the hollow of my throat, right between my collar bones, there is a burning sensation. My voice cracks occasionally, and I noticed a loss of one octave spanning across the past five months, and it gets tired really easily. I have put myself on vocal rest, and have been keeping the talking to a minimum. I also noticed that when I sing, my larynx goes up really high. What could this be?
