Common Questions and Answers about Throat pain voice change

throat

Avatar f tn i also still have nasal drainage in the back of my throat that has a bitter taste and sometimes smells foul.what could be the problem for my voice please ?
Avatar f tn I also get that and will have a deeper sound to my voice but it can go back and forth...it depends on how much phlegm is in my throat, the more phlegm the deeper I sound...and know I need to be on my meds. Many with LPR over produce histamine and should consider adding an antihistamine med to our list of meds as well as use a H2b instead of a PPI...talk to your Dr to see if they feel this could benefit you.

Avatar m tn About 4 weeks ago I noticed a change in my voice. It's not so much hoarseness, but almost nasally sounding. At first, I thought it might be a sinus infection (although I've never had any sinus problems). I did feel sick at one point with a clogged head and general weakness, but those symptoms went away. I can't really tell where it's coming from and now I'm not even sure if the change is nasal or just different.
Avatar f tn My voice never changed after that but after 5 months I suddenly got hoarse voice. The doctor gave me some medicines to take but my voice did not back to normal. I can't sing the songs that I've sing before. It's too high for me. It's been 1 week now since I have this problem. Is this something to do with the operation or not? Please give me some advice. I really need to have my voice back.
Avatar m tn Can anyone help me with any other steps I could take to help heal this? And again, there is NO pain at all, just the change in my voice (hoarseness - I always sound like I have a sore throat). Thank you for any help.

Avatar m tn I wake up everyday with a hurting throat and no voice. My voice usually comes back after I take a hot shower or drink something hot, but I have this muffled sound in my voice that won't go away. Do you know what can be causing this? I went to two doctors; an ENT and a voice specialist. The ENT saw irritation and the Voice Specialist didn't see anything wrong. Even though I was unable to speak.

Avatar f tn Does GERD cause throat pain? I will just get this dull aching pain feeling in the bottom of my throat. I don't think it is from eating though. I usually get it when I am stressed or excited about something or I've noticed when I get really angry and arguing about something. Is this normal? It really concerns me because it makes me feel like it's something else since it only happens from emotions and stress and not eating.
Avatar f tn For over four months I have had a feeling (globus) sensation in my throat below the Adam's apple with and without swallowing. I also have occasional pain that moves around on the sides under the Adam's apple and can be pretty intense after eating. Sometimes but not always my throat also tightens and I feel like I am choking and it is somewhat more difficult to breathe about 15-20 mins after eating. Also, after talking for a while my voice starts to get rough.
Avatar n tn Hi. I'm 27 Female. I had non-cancerous growths removed from vocal cords about 5 years ago as I was losing the ability to talk for 2-6 month periods. Recently have been experiencing vocal loss for extended periods again, and even now that my voice has "returned" I have noticed a change in its pitch, range etc. I am concerned because for the last week I have noticed a cyst like growth on the back of my throat.
Avatar n tn Several weeks ago I had a sore throat that hurt all the way to my ears, I went to the doctor and gave amoxicilin for 10 days 3 times a day. I finish my prescription and felt better, however a couple of week ago I started feeling discomfort every time I had a kind long conversation. It as almost a feeling that it hurt to talk! Anyways, it went away and now I have this pain almost permanent of pressure in my throat but it is lower almost by my voice box toward the bottom of my neck!
Avatar f tn It hurts low in my throat--below voice box and my throat feels phlegmy. I cough a lot and it hurts. The coughing almost sounds/feels like asthma but it's not, it's coming from my throat, not my chest. My throat feels weird when it hurts(or I start to loose my voice) in the lower part of my throat/neck area. It's interfering with my work and my life now, but nothing seems to be wrong with my vocal chords.
Avatar f tn I sure hope SOMEONE out there can help me out. I moved to a bigger city in June 2012 to take a teaching job at a preschool. I have always had a strong voice, but ever since I moved, I found that I start to lose my voice by wednesday or thursday, and then by friday my voice is just shot! This happens almost every week. I've tried drinking green tea with honey, taking multiple vitamins, etc. But almost 8 months later, I'm quite fed up with how bad my throat gets. There's no pain.
Avatar n tn For the past few years I've had a problem with my voice. I'm a 15 year old guy, so I guess it could be attributed to puberty, but multiple years seems like a pretty long time for a voice change. I have a really quite voice, usually pretty high pitched, but sometimes fairly deepish, though still very weak and quite. I can't yell, or really project my voice at all, which really gets in the way sometimes.
Avatar m tn A couple of weeks ago I realized that i was having trouble hitting higher pitches when I was talking. It also feels like theirs something in my throat. I cant sing anymore except in a lower tone without going up. I find my self running short on breath as I talk at times. Im not in pain, just curious about whats going one.

Avatar n tn The nodules at the lower pole are causing the symptoms you are describing as they are located closer to the back side of trachea. The nodule located in pyramidal lobe or isthmus may cause voice change due to the close proximity to the voice nerve.
