1294748 tn?1350611401 Since you smoke weed from time to time, and it makes your voice sound a little raspy as you do it, you could stop smoking altogether for a few days and see if your everyday voice clears up.
Avatar m tn About 4 weeks ago I noticed a change in my voice. It's not so much hoarseness, but almost nasally sounding. At first, I thought it might be a sinus infection (although I've never had any sinus problems). I did feel sick at one point with a clogged head and general weakness, but those symptoms went away. I can't really tell where it's coming from and now I'm not even sure if the change is nasal or just different.
Avatar f tn My voice never changed after that but after 5 months I suddenly got hoarse voice. The doctor gave me some medicines to take but my voice did not back to normal. I can't sing the songs that I've sing before. It's too high for me. It's been 1 week now since I have this problem. Is this something to do with the operation or not? Please give me some advice. I really need to have my voice back.
Avatar f tn Does GERD cause throat pain? I will just get this dull aching pain feeling in the bottom of my throat. I don't think it is from eating though. I usually get it when I am stressed or excited about something or I've noticed when I get really angry and arguing about something. Is this normal? It really concerns me because it makes me feel like it's something else since it only happens from emotions and stress and not eating.
Avatar m tn Can anyone help me with any other steps I could take to help heal this? And again, there is NO pain at all, just the change in my voice (hoarseness - I always sound like I have a sore throat). Thank you for any help.
Avatar f tn http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_gGEC/is_0012/ai_2699001237/pg_2 Keeping in mind your history of acid reflux in all probability this has to do with GERD. Your symptoms also occur only with certain food substances which also favors a diagnosis of GERD. So I think you should hope for the best result possible i.e no cancer of larynx.
Avatar m tn A couple of weeks ago I realized that i was having trouble hitting higher pitches when I was talking. It also feels like theirs something in my throat. I cant sing anymore except in a lower tone without going up. I find my self running short on breath as I talk at times. Im not in pain, just curious about whats going one.
Avatar n tn For the past few years I've had a problem with my voice. I'm a 15 year old guy, so I guess it could be attributed to puberty, but multiple years seems like a pretty long time for a voice change. I have a really quite voice, usually pretty high pitched, but sometimes fairly deepish, though still very weak and quite. I can't yell, or really project my voice at all, which really gets in the way sometimes.
Avatar f tn For over four months I have had a feeling (globus) sensation in my throat below the Adam's apple with and without swallowing. I also have occasional pain that moves around on the sides under the Adam's apple and can be pretty intense after eating. Sometimes but not always my throat also tightens and I feel like I am choking and it is somewhat more difficult to breathe about 15-20 mins after eating. Also, after talking for a while my voice starts to get rough.
Avatar f tn I sure hope SOMEONE out there can help me out. I moved to a bigger city in June 2012 to take a teaching job at a preschool. I have always had a strong voice, but ever since I moved, I found that I start to lose my voice by wednesday or thursday, and then by friday my voice is just shot! This happens almost every week. I've tried drinking green tea with honey, taking multiple vitamins, etc. But almost 8 months later, I'm quite fed up with how bad my throat gets. There's no pain.
1745395 tn?1342061753 I have no idea if this has anything to do with MS but I do wonder if it might. Have any of you had experiences with a throat tickle, or loss of voice/voice that is followed by a cough/throat tickle that doesn't stop for about 2 to 3 minutes? As the voice change occurs the tickle starts and then coughing starts and continues for a bit. Drinking water does not help it, though a warm tea can aide a little bit, then after a bit it goes away.
Avatar m tn I am a 43 year old female who has noticed a change in my voice since July. It sounds gruff sometimes especially when I'm trying to talk low and it cracks. I went to an ENT in September concerned I might have some type of throat cancer. Especially since Michael Douglas came out saying he had it and was hoarse. The ENT said I was not at high risk because I don't smoke or drink but since I was so concerned he looked at my throat and voice box with a scope.
Avatar f tn A few years ago I noticed a change in my voice and it was raspy for quite a while. I used to beable to sing but my voice cracks and I have difficulty hitting notes. I went to throat dr.
Avatar f tn Every winter I lose my voice. My throat doesn't get sore anything but it gets real dry. It almost feels like, and this is gonna sound gross but I don't know how else to describe it, there is hardened snot in my throat. When I eat something or drink something warm it kind of breaks up a little and I can cough some of it up but it's not phlegm. It's like a real hardened snot kind if like the consistency of a just moistened corn flake.
Avatar f tn That lasted 3 weeks and then the 4th week my voice came back but still hoarse. I have pain on my left side of my neck and tenderness on that side when I swallow. Dr checked me out and said throat is not red and gave me pills for acid reflux. It's been 4 days and don't think its acid reflux....voice and neck still the same. Anyone know what it could be ??
533063 tn?1262366101 I found during the time I took Synthroid (T4) I had a change in my voice. I totally relate to the scratchy sexy voice stuff. I also found that during my transition to Armour (until I started to stabilize) I had that also. I think the voice is more of a reaction to hypothyroidism more so then the meds - not sure - but I seemed to regain my voice after I became euthyroid. Hypothyroidism has a nasty symptom of inflammation.
Avatar f tn I had this happen a couple of years ago. I developed head tremors and a shaky voice. The head tremors I still get from time to time, but I've not had any problems with a shaky voice. Your voice can be affected by an MS attack.
1168718 tn?1464983535 I have been having this hoarse voice off and on for some time. It sounds like I have a horrible throaty voice. I have been waiting for months, for the cold to hit, or strep throat or something.... but , nothing happens. This is the weirdest thing. I used to sing alot, lots of Church singing, and lots of solos, ( pretty hard songs).... and I think I did alright. Well, for our daughters 30th birthday, she is having Karoake and my hubby and I are doing a duet.
558632 tn?1303471125 I am concerned with my voice and pain when talking. Forget abut singing...well I understand how you feel. This is frustrating....if you find out amything let me know!

Avatar m tn Hi everyone so let me get this out of the way I recently went to Cancun from the 1st to the 6th. I started having voice and throat issues around the 4th. When I got back my voice had a lot of horsness. I figure it was from overuse, alcohol, and temperature change. Well it’s been about of week and my voice hasn’t gotten better. I even went two days without talking to anyone or using my voice! Still horsnenss and constantly having to clear my throat.
Avatar m tn I went to see the throat osteopath and he massaged my throat -- yet afterwards my throat felt worse and was in more pain. I then went to see a voice specialist, who said that the pain and vocal sound quality was most likely caused by bad speaking habits, yet she couldn't figure out what they were. 6 2-hour sessions later my throat was no better. She suggested it is probably down to stress. So from here I went to see a hypnotherapist as a last resort.
Avatar n tn It feels like something is wrapped around my throat restricking my throat. I also start to lose my voice late in the day, It seems like the more I talk the worse it gets. I seen an ear, nose and throat Dr. and he scoped my throat. He said that the plate from the fusion is pushing on my throat and has taken up the room that the vocal cords need and that they get inflamed. He feels the plate should be removed for it will cause more problem later.
Avatar f tn t feel any pain during oral sex, only great pleasure. Unfortunately, my throat get sore 99% of times. My tonsils get irritated and grow. Sometimes even my voice change for a few days. This would be still acceptable compared to the great pleasure me and my lover receive from those moments. Unfortunately, these symptoms often develop in fever that only antibiotics can cure. Usually, after a pleasant deepthroat I spend one week in bed with running nose, headache, sore throat and tiredness.
