Common Questions and Answers about Throat pain polyp

throat

Avatar n tn I am having HUGE anxity issues! I found a polyp in the back of my throat. It is flesh colored and painless. I went and saw my famly dr and he said that it was nothing to worry about but to go and see an ENT and have it looked at and maybe biopsied. When I freaked out he told me that it was not cancer that cancer is white and that this polyp looks nothing like cancer. First I would like to know if anyone else has had this type of polyp and what they were.
Avatar n tn its come to a point where it is bleeding ,i see blood when i clean up my throat and spit, i am also experiencing ear pain. is nasal polyps and ear pain in any way related.
Avatar m tn For about four years now I have been experiencing constant throat clearing my family doctor has called it post nasal drip. I have been treated by my PCP, an ENT, and allergists. My PCP prescribes antibiotics which helps for a few days. The ENT removed a nasal polyp and could not find any reason for the constant throat clearing which not only is bothersome to me but after while annoys others as well. I was tested for allergies and tested positive for dust mites.
Avatar f tn An ENT recently found a polyp in my throat and recommended surgery. At the time the only symptom I had was a feeling something was stuck in my throat but my voice was fine. The polyp was removed and is benign. When I woke from surgery I couldn't talk. It has been a week since surgery and the most voice I have is a whisper with effort. The pitch fluctuates and the best way I can describe the sound is like someone with laryngitis. Is it normal to experience this after polyp removal?
Avatar m tn All are normal but have bilateral maxillary polyp...Is there any relation with persistent cough in throat and polyp...
Avatar m tn I had had no previous nasal symptoms. No pain, no discomfort, no swelling. Just the suspected nasal polyp and suspected Eustachian tube dysfunction. Reported problem immediately and was checked by the ENT's Senior. He saw a slightly deviated septum, a polyp and some crusting. Another ENT after that, saw so much scar tissue he asked me if I'd had surgery!; he also saw scabbing, a polyp, an infection and swollen turbinate. Damage?

Avatar n tn For 5 weeks now I have been experiencing discomfort, stickiness in my throat and esophagus. It feels like a pill gets dissolved in my throat, something moving and turning there, or the food is stuck. Sometimes it is accompanied by nausea. After I eat I have a feeling that the food is still moving down the esophagus. This feeling is awful, it lasts all day, I am losing my ability to think.

I have consulted a ENT however i dont think its related to sinus as i have no other symptoms.
Avatar n tn I had an upper endoscopy yesterday and am now experiencing the sore throat which I expected, but also chest pain. It feels like it did when they were passing the tube yesterday. The nurse did a follow up call but just told me "Hmm, that's not usual, let the doctor know if it doesn't go away" Kind of an off hand answer, I thought. Has anyone else experienced this and is it usual?
1650342 tn?1301547265 6 cm cyst on my right ovary, and a polyp on my uterus. The pain I am having is not a sharp strong pain, just a constant one that kind of stings at times. I also feel a bit gassy sometimes and do feel pressure when going to the bathroom sometimes, but I do not know if those symptoms are related to the cyst and polyp or not, or if they can make my pelvis and belly button area hurt. What I want to know is can cysts cause this kind of feeling? I know that it's most likely not the polyp.
Avatar f tn m not having a coughing fit, never smoked, normal appetite, no pressure or pain in chest, and no sore throat present at the time. If you have any ideas or insight on what may be going on, comments would be appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Here's some more information but no answer! I have pretty much the same set of problems. I have a swelling on the left roof of my mouth, hurts like hell, feels a bit like a burn and spreads pain up through my jaw, nose and ears and ends up as a headache. I also have a small lump (maybe 4mm across) at the back-left of my throat (almost out of sight). My dentist calls this a polyp, my doctor ways "what's a polyp, other than tissue growth caused by an infection or inflammation?
Avatar m tn t have any pain, and if I did I think I would have seen my GI doc. Because you had a polyp, and are having pain, I would see your GI. A single polyp can become large enough to make it difficult for you to have a bowel movement. While waiting to see him, eat Activia Yogurt, and you may return to normal before seeing him. But you should also ask him how often they want you to have a colonoscopy, normally it's every 3-5 years after they find a polyp. Take care.

Avatar m tn It turns out one of the colon polyps was pre-cancerous and that I have changes in the mucosal tissue of the stomach, a hiatal hurnia, and a large polyp in my throat which he said is unusual for someone that is 35. He wants me to go in and have the polyp removed by another GI doc that specializes in this. I know I did not feel any pain with the colon polyps being removed but am concerned about removing the one in my esophagus which is located mid chest.
Avatar n tn The best place for you to go for help would be the ENT that did your surgery. They can scope your throat again to see if you have another polyp, and can order a CR scan of you neck and head to see what is going on. Try to relax. Most of the time there is nothing to worry about. Take care.
Avatar n tn I have constant burning pain that I assume is associated with the urethral polyp. I think the polyp must involve some nerve or something. When I had my last child, the pain from the polyp area was worse than the birth itself. I began shaking uncontrollably from the nerve pain. The heat sensation is constant. My husband says I always feel hot, yet I have no fever. I'm just hot near the bladder and thigh area.
Avatar f tn I had an ultrasound done 3 months ago and it revealed a 4mmx5mmx4mm polyp. I had a follow up ultrasound done today and it revealed a 6mmx4mmx3mm polyp. What does this mean. It seems like it is growing but in shape not size. Is this something to be concerned about.
Avatar n tn B/c mine was so large I spotted pretty heavily for about 4 or 5 days. And there was some pain, but I just took a pain pill 1x a day for 2 days. All in all, not bad. Good luck!

Avatar f tn I got the scan and the scan showed a deviation and a polyp, I got surgary about a week after that in cairo.. They did a septoplasty and took a away the polyp on top of it they burbed down the back of my sinusses as they saw there was swelling during the operation. The surgary itself was all abit weird as i got no explanation what they did or were going to be doing. The day after surgary it took me 9 hours to travel back by bus.
Avatar m tn I'm a 23 yr old male with the following problems. Almost a year ago, I started getting recurring headaches every single day. They tailed off after awhile, but a lingering feeling of pressure was left, and now I basically have this pressure/pain in my right ear every day. I really don't have any of common symptoms of a brain tumor, but this has been going on for nearly a year and I'm really getting nervous.
3056658 tn?1340405954 The imaged paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells are fairly well aerated. A mucous-retention cyst versus polyp is suspected at the inferior aspect if the left maxillary sinus. The osseous structures are intact. The lung apices are unremarkable. Impression: 1. Prominence of the adenoid soft tissues. There appears to be soft tissue prominence at the left aspect of the airway with some component of mass effect which could be associated with the patients head tilted toward the left.
