In this the pain begins in the throat and usually radiates to the neck and is due to the pressure on the glossopharyngeal nerve, a nerve which supplies to the tongue and the throat. In this condition, the initial management is with the drugs and if the medical management fails, then the surgical exploration is done to mobilize any blood vessel if it’s pressing the nerve.

I've posted regarding this before, but I'm posting again. I'm a recovering opiate addict (2 years clean) and I have off-the-charts-pain! I had several disks fused in my neck in 2006 and shoulder surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in 2010. My pain is in the upper part of my neck radiating both down into my shoulder and into the area where my skull meets my neck creating a wicked head ache! Chiropractors won't touch me because of the plate in my neck.
For about a month now I have had the feeling of something stuck in my throat that never goes away, It is worse in the mornings after lying down, When I clean my teeth I have the need to gag.I tried making myself throw up thinking its going to come off but it doesn't change a thing...Even if i try drinking lots of water... I do not have any pain but it doesn't feel normal. Do I have Throat cancer? Is it something i should be worried of?
he said that I have a nerve pinching which cause by allergy. My doctor gave me a nose spray to ease the pain. But, it feels that its getting worse especially when I'm lying down & touch my nose from left to right. The pain goes all the way to my right eye now. I tried to blow my nose & it really hurts too. Now my question is, "is it really nerve pinching or can it be something else?
I have been having problems in my throat for past 2-3 weeks, I have burning pain in my throat which radiates to my left ear. Also when I swallow I feel pain in my back between shoulders. I've been taking Ibuprofen 200 mg q 4 hours. I had a Barium Swallow test done, everything is normal. I checked with a ENT doctor who performed Partially Thyroidectomy in August. Last week I had been checked again they told me I have TMJ. I have been taking Zegerid from stomach upset.
I BELIEVE THAT IT IS CAUSED BY IRRITATION OF THE VAGUS NERVE. WHEN I GET THE SENSATION TO COUGH I FEEL PRICKLEY STINGY FEELINGS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY THROAT. I PUT PRESSURE ON IT AND MOST OF THE TIME I CAN STOP THE COUGH FROM COMING. ALSO, MY COLON GETS VERY TIGHT AND BULGY AND I FEEL THE TIGHTNESS ON MY VAGUS NERVE AND AGAIN I PUT PRESSURE ON IT AND ALSO I PUT PRESSURE ON MY LOWER LEFT SIDE WHERE THE COLON IS. IT FEELS VERY HARD AND LUMPY.
For the last few weeks i have had a pain in the right side of my throat,it is a slight constant pain but worse when i swallow or shout. I have been to the doctors twice about it he says he cant see anything wrong and told me the 1st time to gargle in asprin(he thought i may have ruptured a blood vessell as i had a chest cold at the time)the second time he told me to take an antiseptic throat spray but nothing has worked and the pain is still threre and seems to be getting worse.
For the past 7 months, I have experienced a variety of throat and esophageal pains and a feeling of a lump in the throat. It started off as a feeling of something in my throat and has graduated to a burning, stabbing, piercing pain in my throat and esophagus. You know I may also be TMJ, that's what I have,the worst case. I get pain in my jaw, headaches, sometimes throat pain, and ear pain, and back pain, you'll know if you have it by pressure on your side jaw(both sides) Just my oppinion.
9 months ago I had a cyst removed in my throat and during surgery the docs cut a 1 inch hole in my pharax. I couldn't eat solid foods for 7 months and even now I am in continuous pain, have trouble swallowing and eating and I have constant pain behind my head and in my ear. I found out a few months ago that the docs also damaged the vagus nerve number 10. I have been told that there is no cure for me and I will stay in pain. Are there any other options out there?
Did not take the test. I learned that it might be an ulnar nerve entrapment with associated median nerve entrapment. Is there a possiblity of a spontanous recovery and is this just the beginning of a serious problem, It seems that I have been gaining strength in the affected hand over the past few days. Causes of entrapment may have been banging the elbow or overhead pulldowns with a close grip.

Hello, I am a 20 year old male. Recently I've been experiencing some very strange symptoms. About 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with 'Strep Throat' with no sore throat or upper respiratory congestion, around that time I had a really bad pressure-like headache and no other symptoms. I went to my local ER and they prescribed me Amoxicillin antibiotics. I began taking the antibiotics for several days and my symptoms still lingered.
t tired so I was just relaxing on my computer when all of a sudden I felt like a lump was forming in my throat making it feel like my throat was closing up. Starting to get dizzy, I decided to head up to bed, but the sensation wouldn't go away. I knew if I took a benadryl just to be sure, I could put my mind at ease also and go to sleep.
