You can take some pain relief for the pain and you need to drink plenty of warm drinks. Do not drink milk as this makes mucus. If you do not feel like eating, that does not matter for a few days as long as you are drinking lots so that you do not become dehydrated. A warm drink of honey and freshly squeezed lemon juice is good. Try and persuade your mum to take you to the doctor as you may need a course of antibiotics if you have an infection in the throat or your tonsils are ill.

my throat isnt really sore, it just kinda hurts in one spot and im not even sure if its in my throat it feels like it is but it could be where my nasal passage way is.

By the 2nd day my throat had gotten more sore, and today and yesterday (now day 4) my sore throat has progressed to a much more painful sore throat. hi for the past 3 days my throat has been hurting very badly. it hurts to swallow and yawn and things like that. ive tried lozenges and ibuprofen and advil. im not sure what to do. when i yawn it feels like something is pushing at one side of my throat.

^ Thanks for your comments...I went to the doctor and I do have GERD. The back pain is caused by my esophagus being inflamed & raw, which is also why it hurts to swallow food. My stomach actually feels okay. The doc gave me a medicine to help coat my esophagus & tummy before I eat to ease my current symptoms, and I also will have to take an acid reducer regularly. I'm thinking it is not as severe as yours, as it's been over a year since I have has a flare up like this.

Throat or chest pain that occurs every time you swallow is less likely to be related to heart disease and more likely to be related to your esophagus or swallowing mechanism. I suggest that you talk to your doctor and share your concerns.

t cause my throat to hurt. I would have chest pain but not throat pain or difficulty swallowing. I might be concerned that you have some acid erosion from acid reflux damaging your esophagus. This is an issue that could trigger pvcs due to the vagus nerve so I would go see your doctor or a gastroenterologist to get your throat checked out.

Yesterday I woke up with a sore throat and a stuffy nose, today I woke up and could barely breathe because my throat hurts so bad and my nose is stuffed up. It hurts to talk and I can barely swallow without crying, and on top of that chest pain (throbbing/tightness) has been thrown in the mix. I've tried hot tea, soup and Tylenol. t hurt, but sometimes, once I swallow my saliva it hurts, like a sharp pain behind and above the tonisl, although could be below the tonsil. I can't see anything in my tonsil, there's a white line that doesn't hurt or move when i rub it with cotton buds, so unsure if that's it. Sometimes it does ache. Is it likely just a scratch?
