You can have your tonsils
removed at the age of 27, but be aware that the removal of tonsils
at your age is seldom warranted. Recurrent, otherwise uncontrollable infection or airway obstruction, with or without a sleep disorder called obstructive sleep apnea, may sometimes be indications for tonsillectomy.
As with any surgery, this type of surgery is not without risk, and for days to a week after surgery, one's throat can be very painful.
