Avatar m tn I have had hoarsness, pain and high pitched coughing from one side of my throat that sometimes causes choking.
Avatar n tn Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc. If you had flu like symptoms initially then it could be due to infectious mononucleosis too.
Avatar n tn I have pain in the back of my throat only on one side and it feels as if the very back of my tongue on that side could also be feeling some pain. It is not a burning sensation like a normal sore throat but more of life an ache that is amplified every time I swallow. This just started about 5 days and wasn't too bad until today when it became much worse. What could this be and what can I do for the pain?
Avatar n tn This sequence of events suggests that your one-sided tonsillar enlargement was preceded by an upper respiratory infection. The enlargement of only one tonsil with infection is quite unusual and is sometimes associated with the development a peri-tonsillar abscess. That is the development of a collection of pus in the tissue surrounding the tonsil. This is a serious situation and one that definitely warrants medical intervention.

Avatar m tn As per my previous post I had a throat infection and couple of skin infections for which my doc prescribed week course of erythromycin, seemed to clear the throat but then within days it was back 10 times worse accompanied by singular swollen pea sized node under left armpit and neck felt glandy, doctor has put me on another week course of erythromycin, 2 days in my throat still hurts like hell and myblegs fell like ive ran a marathon, also keep getting pains in armpits and left breast area (s
279234 tn?1363105249 Yup, had that a lot. It could well be associated with a sinus infection, where gunk (like my medical terminology?) is dripping onto the back of your throat on one side. I 'm thinking that especially since you complain of one-sided lymph node swelling too. Your allergy activity could have started it all. The usual OTC remedies often work well for this, but if it goes on long you might want to see you PCP.
Avatar f tn About 2.5 weeks ago I started feeling a sore throat on the right side (this side always has bothered me on and off since I had strep in august 2013). I do have TMJ, I clench my jaw at night and often during the day. I have been having ear pain on that side. I did a endoscopy of my nose, ear and throat and the doctor said I was fine, just inflamed. Any ideas why inflammation can last this long?
Avatar f tn Not happy with my doctor. When I went in for my 6 week check up for the TT I had the strep throat & ear infection. It was a write me off appointment. He didn't even bring in my chart. Looked in my throat and ears and wrote the scriipt.
Avatar m tn hi,relax,it is throat infection may be associated with ulcerations.A course of antibiotic along with antiseptic gargles and pain killers will help.May be some local anesthetic spray would be helpful. Please consult ENT sugeon to rule out other possibities. Relax and take care!
Avatar f tn It is throbbing and causing drainage to the back of my throat. It seems to only be the right side. The left side of my nose feels completely normal. It's much more sensitive to smells and breathing now. I'm not sure if this might have something to do with having small nostrils or not. I haven't had any nosebleeds, but I did nearly faint tonight after touching it for a moment to see if the swelling had gone down. Any ideas of what this could be?
1414800 tn?1331674906 t know what you mean by fully come down, but you can get a yeast infection if you eat a female out. My buddy in the army got one this way. We gave him hell about it all the time. He had a sore throat.
Avatar n tn I know I had a virus infection that led an upper resp. infection but that passed but one week I had a running nose maybe due to allergies but whatever, One day I had a bad headache felt pressure on my face. I suffer from bad sinus, chronic sinusitis year round but this day I decided to go to the ER, the only looked at the symptoms which brought me there which was my headache and the pressure. They gave me flonase and saod to take sudafed.
Avatar m tn It can be caused by bacteria like streptococcus or it could be a viral infection. Bacterial infections need antibiotics. Sinusitis can cause a throat infection. Consult your primary care physician who will do blood tests and take a throat swab to determine the cause and prescribe appropriate medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Ive been living with genital herpes for about two years now, and i recently have an infection in my throat that i think might tie to oral herpes. My symptoms started off as fever, chills, and body aches then my upper throat on the right side became very swollen and soar. im having diffulculties swallowing and its just super soar and painful. My doctor diagnosed me for pharyngitis eventhough i tested negative and the antibiotics arnt working. Could it be a herpes infection?
Avatar n tn Nothing hurts, just a weird feeling of something like a hair tickling the back of my throat on right side. I guess I am just not used to something being back there so it's a weird feeling I guess I have to get used to. It's nice hearing other people's stories, specially when they are similar to yours.
Avatar m tn You may have infected your eye from the throat infection and it might be cleared by the Azithromycin if it is the same organism that is causing the problem. But usually they give you eye drops for an eye infection that have antibiotics in them, so I'm not sure if the oral med will care of the problem. You could also have an allergy, virus in the eye or have accidently got something else in your eye. Try eye drops and if it doesn't clear up in a day or two then see an eye doctor.
