Avatar f tn This was a rock hard protrusion, that I in no way thought was any sort of infection. I had no fever,no sore throat, nothing. I did get a referral to an ENT and I will still be going as I still feel like something is stuck in my tonsil, and my one tonsil is still larger. But the growth I was concerned about is gone! I'm Hoping all the weird things going on with this tonsil have all just been a result of an untreated infection.
Avatar f tn 3 year fell ill. Told...viral, viral, viral...chest/throat/ear infection, left untreated. Stroke like attack...brain scan flagged up a brain aneurysm. No spinal or heart scan even though complained of both. Burning, hot running water in all three areas. Intense pain, continuous daily pain in brain and spine. Yet no scans given on spine. Recent scan on heart, flagged up ventricular systolic dysfunction (RVSD).
Avatar f tn This if left untreated could progress to tonsillitis. The commonest pathogen (agent) causing throat infections is a group A Streptococcus bacteria. Besides this Group B Streptococcus, mycoplasma, neisseria and cornybacterium are known to cause throat infections. Other known pathogens causing infections of the throat are viral and yeast (candida). Strep sore throat needs to be treated with an antibiotic as strep is a bacteria.

Avatar m tn OK.. will do.. so if infected and left untreated, the test would be positive for a long standing time regardless if it had cleared on its own or not? That's the last question. Thanks again Doc!
Avatar f tn Hi, when we speak of the damaged caused by untreated gono, its usually in the genital area and with men can spread to the testes and women to the other interior parts and cause PID.

Avatar m tn I'd also like to add that I've only had sexual intercourse with a boy I dated for several months. My first contact with him was the middle of this past March.
Avatar n tn Hello. I'm just wondering what would happen if an STD is left untreated? particularly herpes? And what tests should i take? And is it possible that herpes heals on its own over time? Here's my story just to give you a background: About 5 years ago, i had a regular "activity partner," we're just 18 at that time. We had intercourse like 5-7 times only. we soon parted ways because of some reasons.
Avatar f tn Itching, burning, really think white discharge are the most common. Any infection can be harmful if left untreated. See your D they will give you the property medication. Don't use vaginal treatments of any kind.
Avatar m tn Have you ever heard of any stds that left untreated that has caused sespis which is a poisoning of the blood. I have seen that it is caused by a bacterial infection and so is a lot of stds. Thanks for your time.
Avatar f tn If any infection is left untreated that is when you can have issues.
Avatar m tn If you caught Chlamydia trachomatis infection in the throat, the infection would most likely be asymptomatic. There is no known consequence to chlamydial infection of the throat and if it occurred, it would almost certainly resolve even if untreated. The cells which chlamydia infections occur on, columnar epithelial cells are absent from the throat. thus, once again, even if you were one of those rare persons, there would be nothing to be concerned about.
Avatar m tn If a non-chlamydial, non-gonnorhea NGU is left untreated, would it eventually get bad enough that you would realize you had it or would the NGU resolve itself? 3. If a non-chlamydial, non-gonnorhea NGU is left untreated but resolves itself, what are the consequences? sterility, etc.? 4. If you have asymptomatic chlamydia and it was left untreated, would a test >1 year later detect it and, if not, has the damage already been done? 5.
Avatar f tn Since you have swollen throat, pressure in kidney areas while urinating, and low back ache, the first thing to be rule out is streptococcal infection. These bacteria can affect both throat and kidney at the same time (though usually kidney is affected 1-2 weeks later) and if left untreated can be dangerous. Please consult a doctor immediately. You need a throat swab and urine examination and maybe culture of the urine to start with. Take care!
967168 tn?1477584489 I'm trying to find info on what can happen when Hypothyroidism is left untreated, but not finding much info - any suggestions? Alittle about me - in 1997 I developed GBS while pregnant which turned septic and I almost died. They pumped me full of meds (can't remember the name of the antibiotics - allergic to PCN so it wasn't that) for a few months because I still showed active.
Avatar f tn I've heard hydrogen peroxide, but an ear infection left untreated can cause internal ear scarring and some more series issues so Id definitely go to your doctor or urgent care so it doesn't get worse and cause more issues
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with having Gonorrhea of the throat back in August. Now my question is how long can it go without causing problems left untreated? I was diagnosed and treated in August, but before this I have to admit that I have never been tested for anything at and STD Clinic - Before anyone says, I know this is incredably stupid!! And lesson Learned!! But the reason I attened in the first place was because, I was worried about having HIV - I have put that to be now.
Avatar f tn I have read that most gonorrhea infections oral or otherwise go away on their own if left untreated. The reason I worry is I am a smoker and smoke more than 10 cigerettes a day and if that might be a impedence for my immune system to act against the oral infection. 1. Are oral gonorrhea tests accurate? 2. Are the treatments effective?
Avatar f tn Yeast infections are common in pregnancy. Most women get at least 1 when they're pregnant. It's not an STD at all. It won't go away by itself, it will just get worse and harder to shift if left untreated. Best to speak to your doctor/midwife about it and they'll give you a prescription to treat it. You need to be careful, sometimes the treatments for yeast infections can be different when you're pregnant so always best advising your doctor first.
548642 tn?1266179652 Left untreated it can cause harm. A yeast infection can lead to other infections that can be potentially harmful. Are you treating it?
Avatar f tn t go away without it. Macrobid is safe during pregnancy. Having an untreated infection to on is dangerous for you and your baby. It can cause you to have a kidney infection and go septic (which is when the infection gets so bad it goes into your blood stream). Take the meds and you'll be fine!
