I tried looking at my throat in the mirror and noticed something at the back of my throat that I’ve never seen before in my life. I looked it up and I guess that my epiglottis is also raised.
I still had neck tightness n the popping but I did regain my voice. I made the mistake of taking that as a sign that I was good to start singing again. Later on that night my voice was nearly gone/completely hoarse it even hurt to speak.
Its been a week now and I still haven’t gotten my voice back.
Acute pharyngitis and laryngitis is the commonest cause of loss of voice due to infection and inflammation of the voice box and throat. This active infection, coughing, and clearing throat can often result in break in small blood vessels. Usually these heal with treatment of laryngitis which involves antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic drugs along with maybe decongestants, warm saline gargles and throat elixirs.
It could be due to varied causes like upper respiratory tract infection like laryngitis or pharyingitis, head and neck cancer, oral cancer, reflux laryngitis in people who have acidity and GERD, muscle abnormality, voice box abnormality, polyps, tumors or weakness of voice box etc.

t have any symptoms except difficulty in swallowing and discomfort in my throat. I feel like something is struck in my throat 70% of the time. I feel like soar throat if I shout loudly. I am fearing if I would have been infected with HSV1. Will this be Herpes Laryngittis/ pharyngitis? will viral Laryngitis/Pharyngitis get relief from antibiotics as I was feeling well in a day after I took them. Will Herpes Laryngitis/Pharyngitis cause no sores in the mouth, tounge or lips?
I wnet to a Doctor before getting on my return flight and he said he thought I had laryngitis likely caused by a viral infection. Therefore, he did not prescribe antibiotics.

Okay, since 1992 I have had lots of throat infections in 1995 I had my tonsils and adanoids removed to help however it never did. And still had aleast 7 throat infections and laryngitis a year but since January this year I have had 20suvere throat infections all with laryngitis.
When using inhaled corticosteroids, some of the drug may deposit in your mouth and throat and cause laryngitis. This can cause coughing, hoarseness, dry mouth and sore throat. Gargling and rinsing the mouth after each puff on your corticosteroid inhaler, may help to prevent mouth and throat irritation.

m usually prescribed antibiotics for a suspected sinus infection, and take it faithfully but I worry that it dries out my throat even more, exacerbating the croup like symptoms. I also wonder if the anitbiotic is useless if perhaps the origin of my upper respiratory infection is viral. It seems abnormal to have such severe problems with laryngitis.
I called my doctor, who changed me to Azithromycin. My laryngitis is better. Most of the sore throat is gone. However, I still have sore swollen glands, and I still have a large white pocket in my throat (Next to my Faucial Pillars). Is this typical? How long should I give it for the white patch and gland stuff to go away?
But drinking lot of fluids, sucking lozenges, gargle with salt water, breathing moist air to soothe sore throat, refraining from taking decongestants (because they dry your throat), resting your larynx will help you. I know that regular gonorrhea in the genitals does not always show symptoms, but I was wondering about gonorrhea in the throat? It seems to me like a throat infection would be different, because as far as I know, any bacteria in the throat wouldn't be considered an infection if it wasn't giving you symptoms, such as a sore throat.

I had a bad cold and then got laryngitis. That lasted 3 weeks and then the 4th week my voice came back but still hoarse. I have pain on my left side of my neck and tenderness on that side when I swallow. Dr checked me out and said throat is not red and gave me pills for acid reflux. After one month I went to an ENT and he said it was acute laryngitis. My voice has almost returned to normal but there is a connstant tightness in my throat. If I cough the tightness goes away for a short time. It's very obvious when I try to talk. I get choked by the tightness and cough. Sometimes even after I cough I have trouble talking because of the tightness in my throat.
I have developed a chronic dry cough & laryngitis, currently I have been dealing with symptoms for a month. Hello I was wondering if its normal to have dark red veins on the back of throat? I have no symptoms, but I did have acute laryngitis two months ago. Ever since then I had no symptoms, but I still feel skeptical when I see those veins on the back of my throat, so should I be worried?
I have a problem with my throat feeling very rough and tight. It feels like I can not get the air right at night and I have a very nasty cough. It feels like it is swelling and I am always without a voice. It feels like my throat is tight day and night for some reason. I do have breathing problems and I do not smoke. I have lost 60 pounds and my doctor is taking me off depression pills slowly. The only thing new in my home is my plants with fresh earth and none of them flower.

Any infection in the body should be treated. Dental abscesses and pus pockets in the throat warrant evaluation and complete treatment with antibiotics. Persistent sore throat can be due to many causes like glandular fever, tonsillitis, laryngitis and cancer. It is suggested to see an ENT surgeon and get checked. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Hope it helps.

About 16 months ago I performed cunnilingus on a sex worker (like an idiot) for about ten minutes. Ever since I have had strange foreign object sensations in the throat, a white furry tongue, rhinitis, sinusitis, headaches, laryngitis and intermittent facial pains around the upper teeth area.
