Throat infection during early pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Throat infection during early pregnancy

Avatar f tn I took Augmentin and my ear felt better, but it took weeks for my sore throat to get better. During pregnancy our immune systems are suppressed, so we are much more susceptible to everything, besides the fatigue and aches we already feel from pregnancy. There are antibiotics you can take if you do end up with an ear infection, and the one thing is you should always get checked out if you are feeling sick. During pregnancy a mild illness can turn serious fast.
Avatar n tn There are certain viruses that will affect the baby, but most normal colds and bugs won't do any harm. I assume your Dr knew you were pregnant when you took your son in - if he wasn't concerned then you don't need to be either.
Avatar f tn I was on antibiotic for a full two weeks when I was around 6 weeks pregnant for a really bad throat and sinus infection.
Avatar f tn t go away without it. Macrobid is safe during pregnancy. Having an untreated infection to on is dangerous for you and your baby. It can cause you to have a kidney infection and go septic (which is when the infection gets so bad it goes into your blood stream). Take the meds and you'll be fine!
Avatar f tn lilbit - Actually, yes, teeth problems are common during pregnancy, if you have any cavities, etc, pregnancy can cause them to worsen, or hurt more. They recommend regular dentist check ups while pregnant for this reason. I had a cavity with my son, and in my early pregnancy it hurt SO bad I had to get an antibiotic for it, also sore or sensitive gums, and bleeding gums are common during pregnancy.

435985 tn?1249067908 I have gotten sick a few times during this pregnancy but it has been either a basic cold and the stomach flu, both things that a doctor cant really help you with anyways. The only reason I think you may want to see your primary physician is that you have swollen glands since that can be something more than a cold. I hope you feel better soon, being pregnant and sick s u c k s a s s!
Avatar n tn One quarter of women experience bleeding in early pregnancy and for one half of this group, there is no effect on the pregnancy. Yeast infection can irritate the vagina and cervix to cause bleeding that is unrelated to the developing pregnancy. Urinary tract infection can be associated with bleeding that is from the bladder/urethra and not the reproductive organs.
Avatar f tn it can however cause you to spot, as any vaginal infection during pregnancy can do that. But if your in early pregnancy your safest treatment is a 7 day treatment cream.I had one around 10 weeks and im now 15 weeks!
Avatar f tn Anyone ever suffered kidney infection during early pregnancy? Had confirmed digital pregnancy test on Friday. Went to my doctor and they said I had protein in my urine but not gave me any antibiotics. I'm so concerned and worried as have a history of miscarriages. He told me to hand a sample in on Monday if it got worse.
Avatar f tn You do not have a period while pregnant. Some women do experience bleeding in early pregnancy. If it is heavy it could indicate that you have miscarried the pregnancy. A urinary tract inf can cause some blood to be in your urine but not cause bleeding from the uterus. I would call them back and ask if you can at least have your HCG levels checked. I am sorry you are going through this.
Avatar f tn Anything over 103 will be lethal for baby .. but if your temperature was that high you could tell without a thermometer..
Avatar m tn I do keep having recurring throat problems once in four months or so. During these times, I get a bad cough and early in the morning there is a little blood discharge when i cough to remove the sputum from my throat. It however does not recur in the day. However for the last few days I have been having an upset stomach, with the tendency to have loose stools on most occasion or an indigestion smell emanating from the stools.

1472764 tn?1287588186 I'm 16 weeks and I'm suffering from a horrible yeast infection. I took 7 days of terazol and 3 days of monistat. Neither helped. Creams usually don't on me. Diflucan is the only thing that works but my dr. said he doesn't prescribe it during pregnancy. I'm so sick of it. I'm miserable. Has anyone ever taken diflucan when they were pregnant? What are the side effects to the baby?
Avatar f tn Multiple infections is common during pregnancy, and I went into preterm labor with DS because I got an infection and didn't treat it. As long as you're treating appropriately, don't worry about it, but keep an eye on things! You should also ask your doctor why you went into preterm labor with your previous pregnancy because many things can cause that, that need to be watched, incompetent cervix, etc. Good luck!
