Food getting regurgitated at night could be due to GERD. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is caused due to reflux of acid from the stomach into the esophagus. It could be that the infection is not completely gone, allergies/PND, dry air, particulates in the air, acid reflux, a medicine you are on... It is really impossible to for us to say exactly.
It might be a good idea to see your doctor again to make sure the the infection is completely gone. You don't want that to come back as "super bugs" develop from incompletely treated bacterial infections. Certainly if the cough continues you need to see a dr.

Blood in phlegm is certainly not a symptom of acid reflux. It can occur due to infection in the lungs, or due to vigorous coughing, inflammation of the nose, sinus or the airways.
Do you smoke?
Smoking is also one of the causes of blood in phlegm. I would suggest you to drink plenty of water as this may help with dry sinuses and nose. Also if the problem persists please seek a second opinion. Take care!

The few common possibilities of your symptoms are acid reflux/GERD, post nasal drip, throat infection, enlarged tonsils etc. Try doing warm saline gargles. That might help. Before I saw the doctor Id experienced none of the symptoms associated with acid reflux whatsoever, except the throat swelling. My question is this: has anyone else experienced acid reflux with little to no symptoms except what feels like a swelling throat? Are there medications that actually work? Could it be a throat ulcer? Other pertinent information: the throat symptom happened all at once. One day I was fine, the next I wasn't and haven't been since.
Thick, foamy saliva can be a sign of acid reflux even if you're not having the other 'standard' symptoms of reflux. And the feeling of constantly needing to clear your throat may either be due to reflux, or in some instances a food intolerance. In many that intolerance could be due to dairy products. If you're eating/drinking dairy, you might consider cutting it out and see what happens.
I know that I have acid reflux. I am asking about my sore throat because over the past few months I have had multiple times of my throat hurting. It is usually only on one side of my throat and it feels like I am either swallowing glass or it is just irritated from being rubbed. I no longer have my tonsils, and there is only a fever sometimes. Your tooth is decayed and should have been removed, but your dentist sees more money in his pocket by delaying doing the right thing. Get a new dentist, and call or see your doctor about the acid reflux. Acid reflux causes stomach acid to back up in the throat which eats away at our esophagus causing burning and pain and often the feeling that you are choking while eating. Is it possible to have Acid reflux without the bitter / sour taste?
I can get the feeling of a little lump at the back of the throat which is more irritated by talking for a more prolonged period of time in a higher tone of voice.

But it wears off towards the end of the day, which lead to me constantly belching up ( yes i know tmi gross) acid... I've had a sore throat for around 8 months so far, I have been to three ENT doctors, and a gastroenterologist and have made no progress to find relief. Currently I am taking two 40 mg tablets of protonix, three times a day. I've had an endoscopy, which only confirmed that I don't have barret's. I've also had an upper GI series performed that indicated a sliding hiatal hernia but was not found during the endoscopy. A gastrin blood test shows that I do not produce much acid.
Yes, all that jezbo said. I am guessing your diagnosis is laryngopharyngeal reflux, a type of acid reflux that affects the throat and voice box. I am on 40mg of Prilosec twice a day, an hour before breakfast and dinner. Still have the lump in my throat. You can look this up on the net and see if it sounds like what you have. Also, do not eat within about three hours of going to bed. I am sleeping on two pillows to prop myself up some, as using only one causes the acid to come up.
