my mother thinks she has throat cancer...i think barretts....since she was little she would always have her stomach acid flow through her throat.....( idon't know if that makes sense, like when she is laying down it flows back into her throat) and so over the years, her throat has suffered from the acid...she also feels pain in her throat...her throat burns everytime she talks and swallows (occasionally). her voice has became rough/scratchy. she also feels a lump in her throat.

Hello im typing today because ive been smoking for the past 10 months about 5 cigarretes daily but the last two months i increased my cigarrete intake and wasnt eating right due to some stressful days i was going thru , so ive notice this past month of april that i have like a lump in my throat and i havent been having regular bowel movents is like im constipated and im really concerned because i think i might have throat cancer.
Common causes are anxiety disorder,acid reflux or GERD,biliary disease,cranial nerve compression esp glossopharyngeal and vagus nerve and myasthenia gravis.Throat cancer is unlikely as other symptoms are also present along with feeling of lump in throat. The most common cause is gastro esophageal reflux disease - GERD.
Diagnosis is by fibroptic laryngoscopy. Fiberoptic laryngoscopy also helps confirm the GERD diagnosis.

No, I'm sure the lump didn't burst and let the cancer fluids into your body. Cancer doesn't work that way. Probably, there was swelling on thyroid and it went down.

It started as a feeling of lump in my throat (couldnt feel an actual lump, just a sensation) and then went on to pain in upper throat behind the soft palate. Sometimes i have pain in my right ear. The pain is more pronounced on the right side. I have no other symptoms like headaches, fever, cold etc. The doctor seems to think its a baterial infection and has given antibiotics. The sore throat is more severe the moment i wake up in the morning and just before i go to bed.

I finally found some primary health care here. It had only nurses. It seems that my lump near my throat is not a lymph node. And that the other lymph nodes in my neck are not swollen (at least the one that can be felt by hand), Also that my fever is on the normal range and that the pain in the abdonimal is weird and maybe asymptomatic as it is moving and is not constant. So hopefully everything will be ok. Ofcourse I will go to a doctor when I go back home for a better opinion.

I just got the results of my CT scan, and thank the Lord, everything looked completely normal.
At this point I guess I am done updating this thread, after all this testing it is confirmed nothing serious ( like cancer ) is wrong with my throat. It's just annoying acid reflux.
After that I started having symptoms of throat cancer.. Itchy and sometimes burning feeling in throat also it feels like there is a lump inside my throat when I swallow.. This has been on and off for some days and I'm afraid it will not go away.. I'm really scared I honestly think this is throat cancer or some type of cancer. I also have been having night sweats,, does this sound like cancer?
I learned that throat cancer can cause lump in throats feeling and stuff and I do feel that sometimes and I feel like my throat is tight sometimes too, however I suffer from anxiety disorder and tight throat, lump in throat sensations are part of the symptoms. Also, I notice that if I eat spicy or deep fried food, or sing for a long time, my throats will hurt a bit and there will be some red dots, and when I sing I notice that I can't reach some high notes that I used to be able to sing.
my throat has been hurting and now i looked in it and deep in there i see a pink lump its not my tonsils i know what they look like its more in the middle everytime i eat i vomit it back up i feel i have cold sweats at night and im only 17 so im not thinking cancer but i do smoke and have smoked for a while now someone please just give me an answer
Hello and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you've seen your doctor and that they've been treating you. If they suspected throat cancer, I am sure they'd do the necessary tests to check on that diagnosis. then later that day while sipping coffee, I got in again, and the panic set in..I started thinking i had throat cancer, stomach cancer, oh and then I remembered the hernia and thought it may be a strangulated hernia so on the internet I went...It could i guess be throat cancer But it could also be the heartburn from acid reflux due to the hernia..I go to doc tommorrow. But I cant stop obsessing..and to make matters worse--I dont have insurance..
Hi,i have had a problem with my throat for about 5 months. It feels like a lump in the back of my throat, and feel like im not getting enoughair ,also i have a weird feeling from the back of my throat to the middle of my chest, almost like a numbing sensation or dry throat.I seen a doctor and was put on amoxacilin and prilosac but that still did not help, then he ordered a MRI and a barium swallow which showed nothing but a little acid reflux.
i just noticed around 0.5-1cm wide lump on the outside of my throat,it is not visible and it can only be felt when i harden my neck,it seems pretty firm.the exact position is about two centimeter above my adams apple slightly on the right side.i am only 21,male...i have a history of moderate to occasional smoking and drinking sometimes and i have no history of cancer in my family....i cannot feel any lump on the inside of my throat when i swallow at all...
hi i am 3o years old i have tronsils in my throat docter checked and tested for throat culture the test cam negative. then i gone through antibiatics . no changes . i am almost gone through 3 antibaitics. but still lymph nodes are swells often.i have small lump in side of my teeth wall.end lf the teeth wall it has the swelling nurves. if anyone knows this is teeth problem or mouth cancer syptoms.i am scared to death.please help me.

I got a stye for the first time in my life on my birthday and it was horrible and painful.. that subsided and I have a really bad night of the lump in throat feeling..(related to anxiety).. and also tightening of my neck muscles.. I also then had sharp pains in my groin and above my inguinal area.. which led me to believe I had a hernia of some sort.. but once the doctor told me it was my anxiety, that all subsided and went away :) ... and then I got another stye due to more stress..
Lump in throat feeling, a lump on my gum, fever and itchy burning throat, my throat gets scratchy to where my voice changes.. My jaw pops and clicks when I open my mouth my face and jaw was hurting so bad I could barley open my mouth I had night and day sweats and a couple of days where I'm not hungry and headaches.. Does anyone have any advice could this really be oral cancer?
I think for the lump in your throat you should get it checked out by your doctor even if you have to pay. I don't know what it is but if there is a lump it has to be looked at. It may be swollen lymph nodes due to some sort of infection on the tongue. You can lots of other infections. I would be honest with the doctor and tell them what you have been involved in with this guy that cheated and your concerns.
