Avatar f tn org/diseases-conditions/throat-cancer/symptoms-causes/syc-20366462 Those symptoms are A cough, Changes in your voice, such as hoarseness or not speaking clearly, Difficulty swallowing, Ear pain, A lump or sore that doesn't heal, A sore throat, and Weight loss. You obviously mention two of those, hoarseness and pain in tonsils and ears. I think it is a good sign that you improved to some extent with antibiotics.
Avatar n tn They look like little bumps in the back of my tongue and it fills ruff when I swallow. What are the symptoms of throat cancer? What do I have to look for?
331673 tn?1199354285 i've been experiencing symptoms and i too have general symptoms of throat cancer. i'm in deep stress, cant think etc. Have prayer and stop googling symptoms for it will make it your anxiety worse.
Avatar f tn I am not the type to join these blurbs. However, my experience the last 2-3 years may be helpful to all of you who have had irregular menstrual cycles, marble feeling when swallowing, difficulty breathing sometimes, a start of a bump on the throat, and now burping. It started about 3 years ago when I noticed that there was a VERY slight bump on my throat near the "V" neck section. I saw 3-4 family doctors who all said, that is normal and goiters that tend to inflate and deflate.
Avatar n tn ve made it this long so must not be cancer? Anyway, my internist wanted a throat scope and review of US he ordered so sent me to an ENT. That visit was 90 seconds. he didn't know who I was, why I was there, didn't have or review my US and didn't even feel my neck while swallowing which seems the normal thing they do. He said is acid reflex and no need for anything further, see internist in a year.
Avatar m tn Whereas in the past, the “face” of head and neck cancer was a man in his 60s with a history of heavy smoking and alcohol consumption, the men diagnosed with HPV oropharyngeal cancer do not smoke heavily and may still be in their 50s or younger, although older men are also affected. Dr. Wirth explains that HPV cancers show a specific pattern as to where they arise.
Avatar f tn Hello, I first noticed my lymph nodes were swollen on the left side of my neck about 2 weeks ago. They may have been swollen longer than that, I'm not sure because I don't regularly feel my neck. I was concerned about it so I decided to go to the doctor. I explained my concerns to my doctor, told her I wasn't experiencing any other symptoms (no pain, sore throat, fatigue, loss of appetite, etc.) I also don't have swollen glands anywhere else.
Avatar m tn I am a male 26 yrs old healthy I examined myself and there were no lumps in my neck ,,, so what is that possible to be I am concerned with cancer because of its persistence ,, I don't know if it's herd or something more serious
1277632 tn?1327594715 My lymph nodes do not appear to be swollen, and I wonder if its muscle related or might be related to a symptom of throat cancer. I cough from time to time, and oh yeah, it does feel uncomfortable when I swallow at times. The uncomfortable feeling is not just on a precise location, it seems to vary in location on my left side neck during different times of the day. I appreciate all the possible feedback guys Thanks.
Avatar f tn she gave me two antibiotics to treat it i still have the symptoms and they are getting worse my throat is hurting i cant swallow food or drink with out severe pain and feeling like it is stuck... this is getting worse by the day, i also have severe acid reflux and have had gatric bypass which caused pancretitis and recurring kidney stones...
Avatar n tn Hi, i have had a pain in my right hand side of adams apple only when i swallow for about 3 weeks. This went last week and i had no symptoms apart from 2 cankers come up on my tongue which were very sore. This morning i woke and the pain i had before has now started slightly on the left hand side of the adams apple. As i say it does not hurt unless i swallow when it feels uncomfortable. Also my glands in my neck have been swollen for about 4 weeks now. Are these signs of oral or throat cancer?
Avatar n tn I would agree with the ENT that your throat symptoms are those of GERD, which is another symptom of hypothyroidism. I had them (and GERD) for years, so I'm very familiar with them.
Avatar m tn My great worry now is that is this sore throat related to hpv as hpv can also cause head and neck cancer. I will be glad if someone can help me on it.
647554 tn?1227116482 t want you to worry- thyroid cancer is extremely common and curable! Google neck check for thyroid cancer and check your thyroid ( however, my nodule was tiny, so you may not notice if you have one). Also, do you notice any swollen lymph nodes in your neck? Keep me posted!
Avatar f tn Direct clinical examination and additional diagnostic tests may also be requested. While symptoms of throat cancer may include trouble breathing or speaking, frequent headaches, pain or ringing in the ears, trouble swallowing and ear pain; other conditions that cause these symptoms may need to be ruled out. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Started off as a knot on the back of my head right where necks start on the bottom of head.. then I noticed I had a tiny knot in my neck. Did some research and cancer started to pop up on the Internet.. I freaked out and anxiety went into overdrive.. doctor examined me and thought it was due to allergies.. got cat scan and the side with knot the lymph nodes and glands was bigger but they said they didn’t see anything wrong ..
Avatar f tn Sally, Any nodule can cause the symptoms you are describing, it absolutely no connection between this and the cancer. Some nodules (due to their location), can be huge and cause the symptoms, and some smaller nodules can press on the nerves causing discomfort. The 1 cm nodule in most cases is asymptomatic, so if you suspect it growing, you may perform the “thyroid neck check”. If nodule in fact increased in size and located close to the front of the neck, it can be seen.
Avatar m tn I had flu like symptoms i guess but only the coughing sore throat and snezeing. No sweats or chills unless i leave my heat on high for a few hrs lol.. I notice when i cough bad it pulls on the mucle in the front of my neck so i hope thats all that part is. I did through research on tonsile cancer and lymphomia. Even though i can always find to have atleast 2 symptoms of every known cancer out there lol.
1500294 tn?1290272209 My latest symptoms are sore throat, ear ache, constant phlegm in the pit of my throat, a cough (but not persistant, comes and goes). some times the sore throat pain also goes down that side of my neck and collar bone. (nerve maybe?). I'm concerned with these symptoms and don't see my GP until may 2nd. should i call an ENT before then??? go to the ER? anyone else with these symptoms and have been cleared and are ok? Or anyone with these symptoms and have cancer?
Avatar m tn I probably shouldn't ask a cancer expert if I don't want a cancer answer, but didn't see another logical forum. Have had acid reflux issues for a few years. Last scope about 4 years ago was clear. In recent months front of neck around trachea area have started being tender to touch. When I think about it, that area has probably been tender my whole life - could never sleep on my stomach.
Avatar f tn Hi, Cancers that involve the throat, base of the tongue, tonsil, or pharynx usually present with a sore throat that does not go away, cough, difficulty swallowing, weight loss, ear pain, blood-tinge sputum or a lump in the back of the mouth, throat or neck. Are there other symptoms present? You have an increased risk of developing throat cancer if you smoke tobacco and drink alcohol, chew betel quid, or being infected with human papillomavirus (HPV).
Avatar f tn I would also check out the possibility of PMR, an autoimmune disease. Many of your symptoms are NOT symptoms. The shoulder, neck and jaw pain , might sweats, joint pains, low grade fever and more are PMR Symptoms. the dr. Can do a couple of blood tests that can give him an idea if this could be the reason for your symptoms. Easily treated with steroid meds.
Avatar m tn hello, i have had ear pain, mild sore throats, feels like something stuck in my thraot, clear throat alot, and stiff neck which i can feel a swishing sound when i walk. i have also had some heartburn, so i wonder if these could be the symptoms of gerd. i am seeing an ent, he checked my throat and didn't see any growths and is going to have an mri done on me. in the meantime i am quite frightened, especially of throat cancer, has anyone had the same symptoms? i am beside myself with fear.
