throat and mouth ulcers

I am 32 years old man and have these white small ulcers in my mouth since I was just a child maybe age of 4 or 5. I visited doctors many times and recived my types of medications, but nothing could cure my mouth ulcer, it begains with one small white urlcer with lots of pain in all of my mouth and in few days it reaches to 4 or 5 in all ereas of my mouth even sometimes this goes deep to my throat and some times when this get very sever this associated with fever.

I agree with AnnieBrooke - you need to be seen by a different doctor! And preferably an ear, nose and throat doc! When you have a throat so sore that you can barely swallow, can't eat at all and have ulcers on your tonsils, SOMETHING definitely needs to be done! Did your doc even bother to do a strep test or anything? Strep throat can also cause ulcers in the throat and mouth and strep is definitely something that neeeds to be treated with antibiotics.

All sores are inside the mouth (none at all on the outside of the mouth or around the lips - ever), on the soft palate around the mouth and on the sides and underside of the tongue and below, not the gums and not inside the throat but on the soft palate of the throat - in front of the tonsils.

This time I went to the doctor because the back of my throat also had ulcers. The doctor swabbed one of the ulcers and said she was gonna send it to be tested for herpes and for shingles. She said if they didnt call then the tests were negative. So I didn't get a call, the ulcers slowly went away, and I was relieved. However, in the past week and a bit the ulcers have been reappearing, and the glands in my neck are swollen and painful.

Welcome to our Forum. The ulcers you describe are not related to your sexual contact 4 months ago. The only STD that might cause the sort of recurring ulcers that you describe is herpes and your symptoms do not fit with HSV.

No worries here. Test results always are more reliable than symptoms in judging whether someone has HIV, because the symptoms of HIV are highly variable. Even the classical and highly typical symptoms of HIV or AIDS are more commonly caused by other conditions. And you don't have such symptoms anyway. Mouth ulcers can occur in people with HIV, but only in those with advanced disease, i.e.

My mouth has these really hurtful ulcers, my throat and toncils are painful and swollen and my neck glands are so painful. I went to the doctor and was neg. for strep. I got some antibiotics and some viral medicine but it hasnt been getting any better. all i have been able to eat is jello and popcicles. How long did it take to go away? what did you take or do?

After the 10days I still had a sore throat that feels like an ulcer down my throat, and I also still had about 10 mouth ulcers as well as swollen gums. I went to my Internal MD and he put me on Medrol dose pack and Levaquin. This initially helped w/ the mouth ulcers but the one down my throat got much worse. I was given a Celestone inj and put on Orapred. Also taking Pepsid. Throat neg for strep and mouth ulcers neg for Herpes. This helped for about 3 days but then the pain has come back.

My mother has been suffering from a host of conditions relating to her mouth for the last three months, and presently, her painful mouth and throat ulcers with difficulty in swallowing food. It all started with her teeth. Her old 'bridge' had worn out was to have been replaced. She had root canal treatment done to several of her teeth.

I did not suspect oral thrush, but are there other types of mouth ulcers and conditions associated with seroconversion? The second link to the medical picture I posted does not look like thrush either, that's more my concern.

I developed mouth ulcer 30 yeas ago. I had them everyday for years. Then had upper GI done. They found my sphincter doesn't close all the way. Treat was Prilosec (omeprisole) for 14 day and swish with Maalox to heal. That has work up until about a month or so ago. Now they are in my throat and the said treatment doesn't seem as affected. I view it as I caught a virus and is activate when you have a gastric episode. I had an EMT look at my throat. He said he saw healing and no concerns.

I had protected intercourse with a women who was masturbating while we were having intercourse. At some point during the episode she licked her fingers that she was masturbating with (for lubrication I presume) and she later kissed me. I'm concerned as I had a few small ulcers on my mouth at the time and she recently had her period and had warned me that there may be blood prior to having intercourse. I often get chancre sores and ulcers in my mouth...is it okay to give unprotected oral sex? Or does this pose a risk in giving the guy something???

The spoon like equipment might have contacted the sore throat and throat ulcers of the HIV patient and it could have contacted me too. Please help with your suggestions.

Thanks for the replies, yes JJ I get the ulcers on my tongue (not anywhere else) just on my tongue and my glands get swollen and my throat becomes sore, then they disappear only to return again. To Dochiru I went off my meds due to constipation but unfortunately now I am off the bladder meds I am having issues again!! So I fixed one problem but the old one is back (groan)! I was taking Vesicare for burning and bladder spasms and urgency and Gabapentin for nerve pain.

Hi all, back at the beginning of April this year I had a sore throat, I looked and saw I had a few ulcers/blisters in the back of my throat, I have never had these before, and they weren't there previous to that, I had just come off Omeprazole which I had been taking for acid reflux, and had been on them for 9 weeks.I had also just come off Yasmin contraceptive pill that i had been taking for around 8 years.

t cause a fever and sore throat. You probably have a fever from the sore throat and it should pass within a few days. It's not HIV, so try to stop worrying about this because fear feeds anxiety, and you don't want to make your anxiety worse. Take care...

Hi and thanks I do get a very dry throat and mouth all the time. But I will keep an eye on them and see what happens and consult with an ENT when I get an appointment through.

There was no ejaculation but there may have been pre-ejaculate. I am scared because I had a mouth ulcer on my gums, and a very very small one on the tip of my tongue. I will get tested, but, in the meantime, I can't stop worrying.

Yes, I started on Methimazole in November 2010, and I experience mouth sores/ ulcers too every month or so. It takes about 5 - 7 days before they disappear for a month. You can get over the counter medicine for that if you like. For me, I just suffer thru the pain for the 5 days or so.

i went to the ENT doctor and gave me clindamycin 300mg 4x a day for 1 week and it cured my throat. on december 2012 i had an ulcer all over my mouth most of them on and under my tongue and it was very painful. im having difficulty eating and drinking. i went to the local clinic and the doctor told me it was herpes by looking at it, and gave me acyclovir 200g 4x a day for a week it cured my ulcers before the week is finished.

Seen my doctor and he put me on Amoxicillin. My strep cleared up for the most part (the white crap all over my throat). Throat is still sore and have ulcers in a few places around my mouth. Not to worried about that, what does worry me is now my gums are killing me. I cannot even tough them with a brush. No blood as of yet from them. Is this the last of the infection retreating?

i live by myself and am on social security, i dont get to eat alot and like ten years ago my whole mouth and throat are just dry and uncomfortable. i smoke alot and legal tobacco from a pipe. the throat part is really bad. ill have to spit and alot of the times i have to vomit, i have a garbage next to me and can happen alot during the day, sometimes im gasping for breath and i get a headrush. what can i do for my mouth and throat, its really bad and for a long time.

i was out of work all of last week from the tongue and ulcerated mouth. it is healing now. magic mouth wash/biotine mouth wash/oasis mositure mouth those are things that have worked for me and some others on here.
