throat

Avatar n tn I have been experiencing chest and throat pressue after a cold. I am not coughing a lot but still have a lot of chest congestion. I have to clear my thoat a great deal. I feel tightness in my chest, throat, and upper back area. I seem to be experiencing some indigestion as well. I am a fitness instructor and have been teaching my intense cardio classes with less difficulty over the past few weeks. The pressure has been ongoing for the last 3 weeks.
Avatar m tn It causes pain in the chest, and burning in the chest, sour taste in the mouth. The feeling of lump in the throat and difficulty swallowing is known as globus hystericus. I would suggest you to eat a soft bland diet, avoid oily foods, drink plenty of water and take an OTC antacid before meals for a few days.
Avatar n tn My throat and upper chest has has a lot of pressure on it. It feels like some one is trying to choke me, but i can breathe fine any ideas?
Avatar f tn This may be accompanied by chest pain, the feeling that food is stuck in the throat, or heaviness or pressure in the neck or upper chest. Eating slowly and chewing the food thoroughly may help. However, if the pills will not work and you experience abdominal pain, chills, cough, fever, heartburn, nausea or vomiting, sour taste in the mouth and weight loss, it is best to see your doctor for proper evaluation. I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Okay, now the pressure behind the eyes has decreased. However, now I am feeling different, maybe worse. This is day three. The latest: My right eye is bulging out a little bit. I can see an indentation where it is bulging out at. My eyes still feel some pain when I rotate them, the pain is from behind the eyeballs. When I am breathing (when I'm not on Theraflu), I feel like part of my throat is burning. It still feel's raw when I breathe, which makes me want to cough.
Avatar m tn In Jan 2006 I was diagnosed by acid reflux, they gave me Prevacid, they did monametrry and PH monitoring in September 2007 and they found out the level of my stomach acid in not high and I don’t need to take prevacid, but they diagnosed esophageal motor disorder, I have lost 20 lb since October 2006 and currently I still have problems in breathing, swallowing, I always have a lot of mucus in my throat, gas in my stomach and I also feel pressure in my neck when in burp the pressure is released
Avatar n tn The pressure radiates up into my ears, throat, and sinuses. This causes my ears to block up and I have to pop them over and over. I also feel the pressure behind my eyes. The pressure area feels like a bubble in my chest. Sitting down and leaning forward feels like putting pressure on both the top and the bottom of this area. Standing is the most comfortable position. Lying down feels like it is pushing this pressure area up into my throat.
Avatar f tn As you have been experiencing a sore throat and a slight cough, the pressure feeling on your chest may in fact be a chest infection. I would advise that you get checked out by the doctor.
2036337 tn?1337104009 m okay and its not actually closing. The pressure on my chest is just so intense, and my hands sometimes start to shake. Are those symptoms of anxiety? It doesn't go away, and it probably has a lot to do with the fact that I can't stop thinking about it. But its hard, you know? Especially when I'm having a hard time breathing because of it. I tend to always fear for the worst, even though I've had four Doctors tell me I'm fine.

Avatar n tn I have complained recently about feeling like my throat is choking me and closing while trying to fall asleep. I sleep on my side and the pillow can make me feel like I am choking from the pressure. I dont sleep on my back because my throat feels heavy and leads to choking sensations. Can this be related to the apnea.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! One possibility is that this feeling in your throat and chest makes you anxious which causes your blood pressure to go up.

The problems seem to get better when i lay down and get progressivley worse during the day. I also take high blood pressure meds and colesterol meds.
Avatar m tn My whole life I seemed to be healthy except from my chronic back pain and sometimes flu I never really had serious health issues but on the last 3 months I was having hard time swallowing my saliva and I have to drink water each time I wanted to swallow my saliva, I feel my heart starting to beat fast and shortness of breath. I was trying to cope with it by chewing gums + halls + drinking water but these symptoms seem to happen only as soon as I eat my dinner.
Avatar n tn I have had this cough and tickle for about 2 months. Could it be from the high blood pressure medicine I am taking? The pharmaist said that it could be. It's very annoying and starting to really hurt my chest.
Avatar n tn I later went to my PCP and I had sinusitis, so he gave me some amoxicillin and I was fine, I also had some acid reflux that caused a lump in my throat and was the reason for my chest pressure. The chest pain went away, but I found that I'm constantly aware of my breathing. I exercise all the time and I haven't noticed any shortness of breathe, but when I'm by myself my mind starts racing and I think 'Am I short of breathe?
Avatar m tn When I get the pressure in my head it causes a wide array of symptoms (see symptoms below). Also, I can physically feel the sensation move from the throat area to the chest and from the throat to the head. When the feeling isn’t in my chest/sternum area, I can feel it in my head and therefore it is with me 24/7.
Avatar f tn Hey, I have had a feeling of pressure ON my throat on and off for the past two months. Went to the doctor and tried treating for acid reflux with no discernible change.  I passed several tonsil stones about two weeks ago and my tonsils were very sore and swollen for several days before and after. Since then I've had lots of canker sores around the lining of my mouth. A large white one is right under my tongue, swelling one of the ridges up.
Avatar f tn It feels dry and causes my throat and chest to hurt, causing severe pain. I keep waking up constantly because of the pressure in my chest through my nose. It's making it hard for me 2 breathe. I don't kno how or wat it is? What can I do to help the pain?
