Gum tissue must have bone to adhere to so there is no way it can regrow itself. Your gums will follow the bone loss. There is a surgical procedure called a gum tissue replacement that can be done with limited success.
Otherwise all you can do is keep it from getting worse by good oral hygiene.

Herein lies the problem in the last 4 or 5 days I have had my left upper side of my gums start having an unbearable amount of pain that comes and goes it is like a bad tooth ache except I have no teeth. I have a dentist appointment on the 27tth of Dec and will certainly let my dentist know of the situation. Has anyone else experienced this happening to them. Like I said I was doing fine until 3 or 4 days ago and the pain suddenly started.
My lower teeth (the center bottom four teeth)- the gums are receding so bad they are loose and hurt real bad. Last year I got a bump on my gum right in front of these teeth. I went to an Oral Surgeon for evaluation and he just gave me a rinse and said unless he removed it, they wouldn't know what it was.

i would see your dentist for an opinion. if you are not satisfied, get another opinion-preferably fro someone you are referred to by a friend or famly member--ths way your opinion should be unbiased. you could have a recurring abcess in the tooth, or the crown may be impinging on the gum tissue becasue the edges of the crown were buried too far underneath the gumline. or it may be as simple as some extra cement that needs to be removed.

My dentist didn't have a clue why my gums were receding, but they referred me to a periodontist who immediately told me that was the cause.
But you should try to get it taken care of asap...
