Avatar m tn GH should also be tested at least once just for source. GH is what the pituitary puts out, and IGF-1 is what the body uses after the liver takes the GH and converts the GH for the body to use - hence the IGF-1 is more accurate to use (kinda like testing the thyroid levels and not TSH grrrr).
Avatar m tn As the antibodies destroy the thyroid, hormone production is less and less, so medication dosage has to be increased periodically, to take up the shortfall. The antibody tests you need are Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TGab) Just having hormone levels "in range" isn't good enough. Your Free T4 is too low in the range. Additionally, Total T3 is obsolete and of little value.
Avatar f tn That area of skin is not getting colour. Can anyone guide me that what is thia and about the process to cure it.
Avatar m tn Hi KKCAL, I see, thank you for the clarification on the lymph nodes. I don't know how to relate the hormone levels to the sleep apnea, I'll have to do some reading and see if I can come up with some ideas. I think that the TB evaluation would be a good idea. Have you ever been tested for HIV? Also, when is your MRI scheduled for?
Avatar f tn Can you drink red wine or sweet red wine because I bought sweet red wine I know its only one cup
Avatar f tn it might be *that* some lube might help
Avatar f tn I take 20mg of fluoxetine every morning as well as 88 ml of synthroid (started thyroid meds about a year ago,) and on hormone therapy (patch progesterone/dim) for 3 years (post-menopausal.) My guilty pleasure has always been a glass or two of w/r wine a day (while cooking and during dinner.) Overall ive alway felt pretty good but for the last 2 years i've been feeling a burning sensation on my tongue. Started out once and a while to everyday now.
1021643 tn?1265573848 Even when you know you have an 80 % to a SVR declaration (RVR), I think most of us get worried after a long Tx, and wait for the SVR declaration the next 12-24 weeks. And never want to start the Tx all over again. What is the best way to live the time after Tx and before the SVR declaration? Maybe try to have a good immune system (keep in good shape)? Milk thistle? Low fat food, diet? No alcohol or very little. Hormone replacement treatment?
Avatar n tn Did you post in the Hep B forum because you've had or have Hep B?? I can tell you I had Hep B as a kid (not chronic) and it made my liver super sensitive to alcohol, it turns out. I was also a red wine drinker. I'm sure the commuters don't mind a bit ;-) but definitely get your liver panel done to put your mind at ease. I've heard of hormone variations in liver disease, but am not too familiar with them. (One of the ones I've heard is enlarged breasts, so....
Avatar m tn Repeated cold with nasal blockage can trigger attacks. Keep the nostrils clear of blockages by using nasal drops. For the steam inhalation you can use eucalyptus oil or you can use just the steam also. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I am very upset about the weight gain, and I am trying to figure out if it is the Zoloft or not. I also drink about 1-2 glasses of wine per evening. Could it be the wine? Or just the Zoloft? I took Zoloft over ten years ago for a year and a half and did not experience this weight gain. Any advice would be great! Thanks!
29837 tn?1414534648 Being Italian, I always enjoyed a glass of wine with my dinner. After the transplant and feeling great, I asked the doctor if I could have one glass of wine daily with dinner. His response was "You have a perfectly good liver now and one glass is fine". The liver doctor in California at UCLA Medical Center said "Not one drop". Who should I listen to?
15220746 tn?1439216649 Hi, you should see a doctor that specializes in hormone therapy, and have a complete hormone panel done. They should be able to guide you on how to proceed. I have premature ovarian failure because of undiagnosed hypothyroidism. There are progesterone creams over the counter you can use day 14 to 26, but in your case I strongly advise you to see a doctor to guide you, and to tell you honestly how good are your chances. Progesterone helps sustain the pregnancy not just help you conceive.
Avatar n tn now i am in 3rd month amenotic fluid is low.
Avatar f tn I noticed that alcohol was effecting me differently than prior to having thyroid woes. I recently had a glass of wine with dinner and the effects of the wine seem to bring on a bit of a headache and the next day I felt like I had a bit of brain fog. I have never had my thyroid tested after having alcohol. But alcohol is a depressant and can effect the amount of hormone the thyroid produces. So if you are HYPOthyroid it's probably best that you not drink alcohol.
1816210 tn?1327354884 Very lucky that your friend saved you from the shrimp. I have done a quick search on the nutritional values of fried sweet and sour pork and it does appear to be very high in saturated fat depending on the restaurant. http://www.livestrong.com/article/539489-nutrition-in-fried-sweet-sour-pork/ I remember well several months ago helping my kids eat a bucket of KFC and within two hours experiencing an amazing amount of heightened symptom activity.
7928796 tn?1396351929 Thank u all for your posts. I crave wine and here in the US my doctors recommend no alcohol consumption.
Avatar f tn ) But again, I have not seen research on that. Interesting. Maybe someone else has information on this???
Avatar f tn Hi Jess! Alcohol would not affect the embryo until it implants (usually 6-12 days after ovulation), so you're fine. As for the symptoms you're mentioning, it's probably a bit early for pregnancy symptoms, since implantation has probably not happened yet, but I'm sure the gonal-f increased your hormone levels this month, so that could have something to do with it, and if you had a trigger, that can sometime cause symptoms too. Good luck to you!
Avatar n tn Background: Although I do not remember the specific numbers, I know that I have always had somewhat low HDL. My mother says that both her and my grandmother do too. However, we have no early heart disease (or really, any heart disease that I know of) on either side of my family. Since I am fairly young and healthy, I havent worried too much about this in the past. However, on a whim, I decided to take advantage of a freee cholesterol screening at a local clinic in my community.
