hormone

Avatar m tn How were you treated for Graves Disease? Are you now hypo? Are you on thyroid replacement hormones? If so, which ones, what dosage and for how long have you been on it? It's possible that you need to increase your med dosage, if you aren't losing weight. Typically, when thyroid hormone levels are adequate weight will come off. If you have current labs you could post, that would be helpful for us.

Avatar n tn BACK TO THE WHOLE DOCTOR TESTING, I THINK THAT THE DOCTOR COULD HAVE HAD ENOUGH COURTESY TO RETEST ME AFTER THE HORMONE TREATMENT.....I TOLD HER THAT I CUT 2/3 OF THE SUGAR OUT OF MY DIET AND WAS GOING TO MAKE LIFESTYLE CHANGES......GOING TO JOIN WEIGHT WATCHERS, SINCE I WAS UNCOMFORTABLE WITH GETTING INTO MEDICATIONS............SHE SAID THAT SHE WANTED TO SEE ME BACK IN 6 MONTHS.......I ASKED IF I NEEDED TO STOP EATING SUGAR AND JUNK FOOD AND SHE SAID "NO. JUST USE COMMON SENSE.

I suggest buying a heart rate monitor.
2215568 tn?1339764975 The diet does work.. I didn't take the drops, I took the injections, the only dislike 4 me is I didn't like given myself the injections. However, one of my co-workers took the drops, stuck to the diet and lost 50lbs in the first month, and it really showed. It does take alot of discipline, and you have to be consistant in order to see the results that you want. Hopefully, you have a good batch of HCG if you order online. Hang in there you can do it! SMILE!
374593 tn?1257879950 so we are experienmenting with rice pasta and cookies with different types of flour - shopped in the gluten free section of the store the other day ! it will take some getting used to, but if it helps us get that bfp then i'm willing to do just about anything! anyone tried the wheat thing?
Avatar m tn s what made things worse, I even gained about 120 pounds since then with no diet change (although not a healthy diet) I lost 20 pounds after i started the adderall and have stayed the same now for 4-6 months. with that said, questions- does this sound like anything specific?, should I see a endocrinologist or a urologist? Is this something that once identified can be corrected easy? If I need hormones, is there a way not to become permanently dependent on synthetics?
Avatar f tn I certainly have found no diet that helps with periods. Food isn't going to regulate your hormone levels, so I doubt there is one. If you notice you break out after eating a certain food (i.e., chocolate, etc.), then just avoid it around times you're especially prone to breaking out.
846905 tn?1258817444 I too have gained a lot of weight, not losing weight while going to the gym and starting diet, and i haven't been able to get pregnant in 2 years other than that miscarriage. My acne is like yours, it will not go away and i am getting boils in my pubic area as well, and I had never had that before. Let me know what you find out... I have an appointment on Monday with a gynocologist and will see if that has anything to do with any of this.
1363590 tn?1277807077 Taking hormones for unneccessary/unnatural reasons can really screw your body up. I agree with the above poster. THe best way to lose weight is to change your diet and excercise. Use portion control and eat healthier foods.
500923 tn?1210168927 Low carb diet - no bread - pasta - flour - limit whole grains - no sugar natural or artificial. Brown sugar Ok once in a while. Limit fruits high in sugar! Alcohol is sugar too. Limit milk products Maintain a high green veggie diet with lean "good" protein meats - hormone free! Nuts are good and yogart - I know it has milk - but it has many other supporting factors. It a tough change but you will adjust well and won't crave the other stuff after a while.
Avatar f tn If you are still eating a healthy diet and in control of your weight, make sure you are eating enough to keep the reproductive system happy. I too lost all drive during that period (or time; pardon the pun :) As soon as I started eating more, my period returned and I was as normal as clock work until menopause. I wish, and as young as you are you might have a chance, you could be seen at one of Mayo Clinics.
Avatar f tn TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) is a messenger hormone prom the pituitary gland telling the thyroid how much hormone to produce. These hormones are T4 (the storage hormone) which should be efficiently converted (via the liver, brain and thyroid) to the 'active' hormone T3 which ALL body cell need to operate. If your thyroid does not produce proper hormone levels, you need to take thyroid 'med' replacement hormone, its that simple.
Avatar f tn No, unless your hypothyroidism is exclusively caused by lack of iodine in the diet. This is pretty rare if you live in North America, where most hypothyroidism is caused by Hashimoto's thyroiditis. If you have Hashimoto's, your body is attacking your thyroid. While you may be able to lower the amount of antibodies with supplements, you are not going to be able to stop the attack entirely.
Avatar f tn I know ehat the stress im working on it. Jus terrible preggo headaches as my mom puts it.
Avatar f tn I have done some reading online about diets and endometriosis and was wondering if anyone has any advice or further information relating to this. I have found that a gluten free diet has made a difference with the pain and try to avoid too many dairy products and preservative rich foods. Any advice or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar f tn PTH (parathyroid hormone) regulates calcium in the blood.
5536886 tn?1455827346 Hi - Stress is a big one, but excessive exercise can, too. Even things like huge changes to diet can, and sometimes if you are around other women a lot, it's said that sometimes your periods will sync with theirs. Most docs say that if you miss two periods, and have no other symptoms, like pain, etc., it's time to get checked. Good luck!
1363590 tn?1277807077 For a certain period I would go through a special diet rich in protein (no carbs) and meanwhile my body "thinking I'm pregnant" would start to get "food" from my body. Eating my fatness. So there I'd start to loose weight. My questions are: Is that safe? Would that somehow mess up my hormone system? What the side effects? Thank you so much;. God bless you. Marcella.
Avatar f tn The high testosterone could be causing the facial hair. Too much male hormone. Is there a decimal point missing in the TSH? Is it 1.97? Do you have a ref. range for bun/creat? A BUN/Creatinine ratio can help your health professional predict which conditions, such as dehydration, may be causing abnormal BUN and Creatinine levels and decreased kidney function. As for the normal values it depends on the age. For infants younger than 1 year the BUN/Creatinine ratio normally reaches up to 1:30.
Avatar n tn Her blood sugar is fine, the doctor says she is not diabetic. The doctor has ordered an MRI to rule out a tumor. I am beside myself with this possibility and overwhelmed. Any information or advice you can give me on this subject would be helpful. Also, I would like to know, how possible is a brain tumor when a child is growth hormone deficient?
