Testosterone overdose in women

Common Questions and Answers about Testosterone overdose in women

Avatar f tn How is your estrogen and your DHEA-S? When your doc tests your testosterone, does he test bio-available testosterone, and does the doc test sex binding hormones, LH, FSH, to get the entire pic of your androgens and how your body is using the testosterone? Estrogen and testosterone and very very closely related - so it could be that your testosterone is simply converting over to estrogen instead of staying as testosterone. This cannot be controlled really - it just happens.
Avatar f tn I suggest u get ur testosterone checked. The #1 symptom is hair loss in women and hair growth in other unexpected places. I have really high testosterone I'm trying to lower, it has been making me lose a lot of hair and I'm only 29. I have high testosterone from PCOS. MAKE SURE UR DOCS LOOK INTO THAT. I started intense cardio, eating foods with little carbs and low sugar, and drinking spearmint tea. Also thinking about colon hydrotherapy.

Avatar m tn I went through puberty with more estrogen than testosterone. I am on testosterone injection but it does not solve my ED issue. I am thinking of injections as Viagra does not work any more..

1713674 tn?1308576562 They deal with it by being supportive of their wife. If the woman is uncomfortable having sex after menopause and doesn't want to at that time, then they don't push her for it. Men also lose much of their sex drive as they age and testosterone decreases, so typically there isn't a huge difference in sex drives between the couple. If it becomes a big problem, then he should talk to his wife and express his concerns in a respectful manner.
Avatar f tn In men, low thyroid levels can cause low testosterone.
1320252 tn?1290190343 Anybody know what are considered normal and what are considered high for women trying to get pregnant?
110491 tn?1274481937 Testosterone is made by the ovaries as well as with the help of the adrenal glands. In women without ovaries, all testosterone and estrogen requires the precursor androstenedione; this precursor is synthesized by the adrenal cortex. This is why even post-menopausal women have some estrogen and testosterone. I don't have much of the first one and none of the other.
Avatar f tn Long term pain management with opiates cause sexual dysfunction of 50% of all patients, both men and women. It causes testosterone deficiencies in both men and women, which is called hypogonadism. Docs are supposed to monitor testosterone levels, but seldom do because the topic just doesn't come up in the Doctors office. It's not just men that need to worry either, in fact it's of critical importance to women. Check it out, there's a lot more to read: pain-topics.
Avatar f tn The multivitamin is a minimal supplement that pregnant women need in addition to their well balanced diet to fulfill the baby's nutritional needs. As a nurse, I have only seen vitamin overdoses in people that have literally taken a whole bottle of vitamins in one day. You should be safe, but contact your doctor if you are concerned or if you have underlying medical conditions that cause imbalances or absorption problems.
Avatar m tn The question about what kind of organic volatile compound can trigger allergic reaction on people but still produced in the body, has been asked so many times and used as a mockery against PATM. But do we really know of anything like that in real life? Any examples of this happening in real life? YES! It appears that some sex hormones do the same thing as the unknown compound for PATM. On the link below are real scientifically tested pheromones that works. It increases people’s sex appeal.
Avatar m tn In most cases when we think of hot flashes, we think about women. But believe or not men can also get hot flashes. Although not as common as women does, and also not by the same causes. When men passes the age of 40, the testosterone only goes down by 1 percent. In many of the cases if a guy often has often hot flashes. Its often lower mens testosterone will often help men cure prostata cancer. But since you already mentioned that your dad dont have any cancer treatment.
Avatar f tn Libido in both men and women is related closely to the level of testosterone in the blood (yes women have testosterone produced largely by the adrenal glands and men have so-called female hormones in their system). Testosterone level in the blood can be increased by a number of medications (androgel applied to the skin of the stomach, shots in the buttocks, etc.) all of which require a doctor's prescription.
Avatar m tn Hi folks, Back the December-early February timeframe I had two unprotected exposures with two different women. One of the women seemed to be clean and said she didn't have anything, the other claimed to have been with a lot of people and had an ex that was a drug user (I'm not sure if it was IV-drugs). In any event, the past two or so weeks have been absolute hell.
Avatar n tn I know it has been a long time since your post, but I wanted to comment in case you are still having trouble. I have been going through a very similar situation and recently came across some information about chronic blepharitis and low testosterone levels. (Yes, even women need a certain level of testosterone.) It would make sense in your case that the pregnancy/difficult labor could worsen hormone imbalance, as could other stressful situations.
Avatar m tn Hello, There is nothing wrong with the size of your erect penis and it is absolutely normal. the average erect human penis is approximately 12.9–15 cm (5.1–5.9 in) in length and your parameters are completely within the normal limits. You need not take any testosterone for increasing penis length as it is not without side effects. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
1369218 tn?1282423884 I am seeing a new endo in a few weeks. I am low in progesterone, but was told it can cause testosterone to rise if you take supplements. I already have the hair growth thing going on too. My testosterone is elevated at times and normal other times. My periods are doing better since eating gluten free though. I was clotting so bad a few months ago I became anemic. I just feel like a big ball of a mess. I cannot seem to get it all to work right anymore. I used to be able to lose weight.
Avatar m tn High testosterone levels in women are often caused by PCOS (Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome). This is a benign condition which results in irregular or missed periods, excessive hair growth on the face and body and so on. Extremely high testosterone levels can also be caused by androgen-secreting tumors, located in adrenal glands. These are usually benign but in rare cases may also be malignant. Please keep us updated! Best of luck, E.B.
486867 tn?1307139011 Do men take the same dosage as women? Women rx is usually 100mg for 5 days each cycle. If men take it longer than women, I imagine the s/e would be more severe.
