Avatar n tn I have not seen Urologist for testicular dis-order as per my Endo , it seems like a pituitary dis-order issue which are causing low testosterone. She stopped Bromocriptine for a month to see if my prolactin increase above normal range to confirm prolactinoma. I am going to start exercise to see if that help me as i am not doing it for last 4 years or so.
Avatar f tn Testosterone has nothing to do with fitness. It has to do with vanity. Taking it when you don't need it is never for fitness. Will it make you get bigger muscles? Probably. Does that have anything to do with fitness? No. Unless you're a professional athlete who has lost it and needs to cheat to keep your living or you're a bodybuilder, in which case looks are everything, I'd just avoid it and enjoy working out so you also avoid the health risks.
Avatar m tn Hello, I first saw an endocrinologist a couple years ago. he told me I had hypothyroidism and SECONDARY (not primary) hypogonadism. he did a TON of blood work and told me that it's NOT because of a pituitary tumor. he said, "If I want to be really strict, I'd order an MRI". He did something like $13,000 in bloodwork on me and there were no major results. He was a wonderful doctor. I no longer see him because I moved.

Avatar m tn ve been having some erectile dysfunction problems and went to an endocrinologist. After an MRI and some blood tests I found I have low testosterone and may have a pituitary microadenoma (<5mm) so I have been taking Dostinex for the past 8 months. However my testosterone levels are barely increasing (to me, it seems actually randomly increasing/decreasing). If I wake up at night I find that sometimes I have erections but I don't know if every night.
Avatar n tn Did you ask your Physician why he thought it was necessary to order a supplement? Obviously there there are good reasons to maintain adequate Testosterone levels. Some of the things that Testosterone does do, besides maintain your libido or sex drive is to help maintain bone and muscle mass. It also helps in maintaining your muscle strength. It's also thought to decrease one’s likelihood of developing diabetes... and more!
Avatar n tn Due to 8 day periods acne ,weight and hair loss the Physician ordered some labs. Her TSH was 4.9 and testosterone 98. What should we do next? Is there a relationship between the two? She was a soy formula baby due to colic. She had alot of ear infections as a child and had a T&A at 4. She has had sinus infections every year. Also over the years she has complained of pain behind her knees and pain in her fingers. This year she had a short duration which appeared like trigger finger.
1139187 tn?1355706647 Despite my ACTH and my 4 24 hour urine tests, I will purchase and try the adrenal fatigue test. Which test do I buy? I know my testosterone is low so I don't need that.... Also still confused on the process results.... What do I do if they are messed up?
Avatar m tn I mentioned my lack of energy and motivation to the doctor during the annual physical. The doctor order labs including a testosterone level. The CBC results were all within normal reference levels, TSH was normal at 2.610 MIU/L, Lipid panel had high Cholesterol at 207 mg/dL, HD was low at 25 mg/dL, LDL – not able to calculate because high Trig of 468 mg/dL.

Avatar f tn I am not sure I understand, but you have low DHEA, high prolactin, low testosterone, and low testosterone and the guy/gal did not send you to an endocrinologist!!! Even with low DHEA, you need to see an endo - "Low levels of DHEAS may be due to adrenal dysfunction or hypopituitarism - a condition that causes decreased levels of the pituitary hormones that regulate the production and secretion of adrenal hormones.
Avatar m tn i'm a 50 yr old woman who had a complete t hyroidectomy nrly 3 yrs ago, and i currently take 125 mcg of synthriod. i'm wondering if there is ANY AT ALL connection between *other hormones [namely *estrogen, *progesterone, & *testosterone] & their levels in my body and my tsh levels? in other words, can a woman's tsh levels &/or taking 'synthroid', have any direct or indirect influence on any *other hormones in her body?
Avatar m tn Hello, Chap. I think your birth year coincides with mine. On to your question... Before I get there, know that I am NOT a medical doctor. However, I do participate on testosterone forums (in fact, I belong to an excellent forum on yahoo which consists of men recovering from low testosterone. A few of the members there are medical doctors, as well.) Libido is complicated, influenced by more than simply testosterone. That said, we should consider the actual results from your bloodwork.
Avatar n tn 5mg /day in the night . I also has low Total Testosterone level which was last month before start bromo was 235(240-827) and Free Testosterone was 59 (50-) LH was 1.7 (1.4-12.0) , FSH was 3.5 (3.2-9.3). I have been taking bromocriptine for almost a month but no significant difference , i still have headaches in front head, lethergy ,tiredness . Today test result shows my total testosterone was even lower to 216 , LH and FSH increase little bit 2.2 and 4.
Avatar m tn m just wondering, if the damage is permanent, is there any treatment I can undergo, like medications or low testosterone supplements I can take to increase my low testosterone and help me get my sex drive back and get erections without having to touch just to get one.
Avatar m tn Since low testosterone levels were detected, Ive gone under several tests (LH, FSH, Testosterone, prolactin). The testosterone values were extremely low (5.9 nmol/L) but all the other ones were normal. By the way, I had a very delayed puberty - started at 18! Also,a CT scan of my pituitary was performed. The results indicated that I have a simetric but abnormally small pituitary gland.
Avatar m tn All of the hormones in your body must work together in order for you to feel well. We do have some members who have low testosterone, along with hypo/Hashi's. You should get your levels tested. Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease, which I'm sure you already know. Thyroid function sometimes declines quickly, with Hashi's and sometimes, it goes pretty fast. It's impossible to say. What are your current lab results?
Avatar m tn Do you guys have any explanation for the weight loss and reduction in testosterone levels? The loss in testosterone and weight is very large given the time span. What are some suggestions? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
Avatar f tn It's called the fraternal birth order effect. You can do a google scholar search on it. There's no exactly determined cause of it, but it does seem to exist. And it doesn't say that you WILL be gay if you're male with x number of older brothers, it's just more likely. There's actually some evidence that prenatal hormone exposure can have an affect on later gender identity and sexual orientation.
Avatar m tn As well as being older, worry, lack of sleep and being tired, stress, anxiety, being on medications, consuming alcohol, as well a drop in testosterone levels can all have an effect on your libido and erections. Have a look at your lifestyle and see if you can make any changes to make things better for yourself like having a healthy and balanced diet with fresh fruit and vegetables. Cutting down or cutting out smoking and alcohol.
Avatar n tn 30-9am in fact) as instructed by my endocrinologists in order to keep the levels comparable, because as you said testosterone levels are highest in the morning. As I've said, I am manifesting the 'pathological' symptoms of low testosterone in those periods (low libido, decreased hair growth complete lack of morning erection, harder to maintain erection etc), but these improve when my testosterone goes back up to normal.
Avatar f tn Hello... what other tests were done and could you please post actual results, with reference ranges, of the tests that were done? Did you have a thyroid ultrasound? I assume they did a brain CT since the endo was able to tell you the size of your pituitary gland? Did the scan show anything else? It's normal to lose body fat and gain muscle when working out - what other symptoms do you have?
Avatar f tn Also here is more info to include lab results. My MRI was done with and without contrast. Ok so all labs have been conducted between 8 and 9 am. These are listed in chronological order from my first test all the way to my most recent test at the end. These were conducted from august 16 to October 6. The endo’s have been useless. It was my primary care Dr that ordered these test and the MRI. We also did an eye exam and an abdomen CT.
Avatar m tn My understanding about testosterone levels is, testosterone is a short acting hormone that follows a strong daily cycle. Typically high in the morning, low in the evening. I think much of it is generated during REM sleep very early in the morning. That make testosterone tests very tricky to interpret and very subject to other health issues.
