Avatar m tn I have read that a varicocele can contribute to low testosterone and a lower sperm count. As for your hubbies testosterone levels the ones that really matter are the free testosterone levels or the ones readily available for use. I have other symptoms of low testosterone too so I am working on that. I retested my blood and I am waiting on my results. Anyway good luck and do let me know. I'm curious about my options if i face the same situation.
Avatar f tn Due to project-related sleep problems a few months ago, my testosterone levels were low. My urologist warned me that my testosterone levels should be fine once the project-related stress disappears. So far, so nice. However, I ordered Testogel (50 mg) testosterone replacement gel. I used it perhaps once per week or once every 2 weeks. I cannot tell yet if it affects muscle gains, but surely, I feel slightly different on it.
Avatar m tn If your going through the testing above - you need to make sure the doctor reading the tests is well informed on thyroid metabolism hormones and testosterone levels appropriate for you. Even though you are male - estrogen and progesterone needs to be evaluated to make sure no disturbances are happening that is blocking your testosterone from it full potential.
Avatar n tn Please also note that my steroid use did not revolve solely around testosterone but also included a wide arrangement of bodybuilding supplements and other non testosterone steroids that bulk you up. Like I said they all add muscle and include winstrol, trenbolone acetate, testosterone enanthate, stanozolol, and other bodybuilding anabolic steroids (not necessarily strictly testosterone).
8309591 tn?1397596954 well don't worry dear .. Neil Goodman professor of medicine says that "If I take blood on a guy and I send it to three labs, I'm going to get three different levels," well there are some reasons that can lower your testosterone level and i will let you know how to avoid them .. so very first thing is fat , fat can decrease your testosterone level hope you are not a fat guy as you have an active routine .
Avatar f tn Can his disease cause this problem possibly low levels testosterone? I want to do all i can so he doesnt feel self conscious.
Avatar n tn I am not a doctor but I can tell you that most woman that have higher level of testosterone suffer from PCOS. I have a higher level of testosterone and i have had PCOS all of my life.. but was diagnose in 2001. You should go to your doctor and ask to be tested for PCOS.. Good luck..
Avatar m tn What makes you think that a T2 diabetic cannot do bodybuilding? Physical exercise is one key to burning off excess glucose and managing your glucose levels.
Avatar m tn Again, low SHBG and insulin resistance are implied, so that you could be a candidate for type II diabetes, which could affect T levels, so that better to check the blood sugar levels also, especially since you started getting problems of late only. You should also check up your thyroid levels, estrogen, LH, prolactin, and adrenal levels to confirm none of those are responsible for your low T levels.
Avatar n tn You could be oozing with total testosterone and still be deficient if you also have high levels of binding globulin. Normal levels of bioavailable testosterone are 2.00 to 8.60 nmol/L. That's it. Everything else is irrelevant.
Avatar n tn I'm 44. Up until five years ago, I always had a raging libido. Suddenly, that all ended. Concerned, I went to a GP, who referred me to a urologist. After running tests, the urologist told me my testosterone levels were on the high side, and that I didn't need testosterone supplementation - I needed a psychiatrist (since around that time, I was pretty bummed about some personal issues). Over the next year, I did go to several counselors to chat. They were all useless.
Avatar f tn Hello I'm 23 years old, recently got my testosterone levels tested amd it showed up 143 ng/dl (CLIA method- don't know what i means). Can someone please help how serious is my condition? I'm having problems with sex drives, erections, disfunction, ejaculation, hair fall phase for a while, delayed hair growth, couldn't loose fat, how hard i try, problem putting on mass. Thank you in advance.
Avatar n tn The normal testosterone levels in males vary between 260 -1080 ng/dl/ 8.8 - 36.7 nmol/l. Though these may slightly lower with age, the average values remain more or less the same. Hope this information is helpful. Take care!
Avatar m tn I AM 69 YEARS OLD MALE. MY SGOT IN JAN. WAS 52 & SGPT WAS 54. IN MAR SGOT WAS 48 & SGPT 45. MY VA DOCTOR STOPPED MY TESTOSTERONE TREATMENT STATING MY HIGH LIVER FUNCTION TEST. I HAVE 3 BEERS A WEEK. DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS DR.'s ACTIONS?
919239 tn?1269394658 I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to imply that you were playing doctor. I teach statistics, so when I saw "direct correlation," it sounded a little too definitive. Low testosterone can definitely cause depression, and it is something that should be ruled out before beginning treatment. I'm glad that you are having success with the replacement therapy (especially after having no success with the antidepressants). I hope you continue to see improvement. All the best..
8319766 tn?1417382036 So I want to the doc today to get my results, everything was good, I have high testosterone levels and my doc said the only way they can get it regulated is for me to go on the pill.she gave it to me for 3 Mons and for me to join a gym to lose some weight and then after that she is going to test again and see if my levels want back to normal, she said because of that that is why I haven't had my period, so now there is def no baby for me and hubs.
Avatar n tn Yesterday I went to his office and he reviewed the results carefully. Luckily, I do not have PCOS. The blood work only revealed high levels of testosterone (although still within the normal range). I have noticed that my libido is usually pretty high. That does not bother me, quite the opposite :). My main problem is facial hair (upper lip, sideburns, and some chin), as well as increased body hair. I know that without it I would be a happier person.
950277 tn?1247274551 Best not to speculate and talk to a Dr if your levels are low if you test for it.
Avatar m tn Hi Haritec, There is no evidence that I know of that heart disease would lead to low testosterone levels. There are, as you mentioned, studies that show that low testosterone levels can increase heart disease risk. However, we don't yet have strong evidence that testosterone replacement in patients with heart disease improves survival or reduces heart attacks, etc.
Avatar n tn I did inform the Doctor I have been tired lately so he ordered blood work to check hormone levels. Turns out my testosterone level is low. Actually looked at my bloodwork records just prior to tumor removal and all hormone levels were WAY OFF - They have all seemed to come back to normal levels with the exception of my testosterone. My surgeon is referring me to a endocrinologist. Working on making an appointment now.
