Avatar m tn I've been wondering if whether or not as a younger child in early puberty I had a little bit of a hormonal imbalance. I seem to have wider hips than most males and bonafide breast nub development. I was wondering if this is a concern for me presently because I was thinking of getting cosmetic gynecomastia-correcting surgery at some point, but I don't want any reason for my body to grow them back. I have pictures that I will gladly PM. Thank you!
Avatar m tn Hi, It is important that you work with your pediatric endo, who would assess your present stage of pubertal development and the cause for late puberty. The treatment will depend up on the exact cause for the delay in puberty. If testosterone is presribed, it will be only for a short while to kick start the puberty, so that your body's natural development is brought in to initiate pubertal changes. The process will take some time to go through it and it will not be instantaneous.
Avatar m tn I'm a 19 year old male. I have been a late bloomer in my puberty development: pubic hair didn't start growing until I was 13, voice didn't deepen until 14-15, and facial hair didn't start coming in until I was 17. Aside from that, I am tall, put on muscle easily, have a deep voice, and a normally sized penis. However, I haven't ever ejaculated to the best of my knowledge.
Avatar m tn and did you stop it as per advice from the doctor? Such short term treatments are done to kick start puberty in boys having delayed puberty. So, I do not think it will have any serious side effects, even though it is always required to get a confirmation in such cases, from a doctor. Long term TRT can have side effects unless it is medically spervised and controlled. Some of the side effects in such cases are testicular atrophy, prostate and liver issues.
Avatar n tn 16 and 1/2 and puberty not progressing. Has anyone tried testosterone supplements to help puberty to speed up?
Avatar n tn Hi, Testosterone irrespective of the source hasn’t got a significant effect on the size of the penis. The size is determined by the testosterone receptors which don’t change in number after puberty and thus taking any testosterone boosters is not going to affect the size of the penis. I sincerely hope I am able to address your query & hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar n tn I think it is actually normal as boys start going through puberty. It can happen in both breasts or just one. It is due to hormones and the ratio of testosterone to estrogen production. something like 70% of boys have this. However, it is always best to run these things by the doctor. If it is hot and red, thats an infection. That would definately require a doctor's visit. our peditrician will take phone calls.
Avatar f tn In that regard, has he ever had his testosterone level checked? Very low testosterone could easily result in lack of sexual desire, sexual dysfunction & possibly also lack of pleasure from what would normally be very pleasant sexual stimulation. I’d suggest he see his Dr. about this & get his ’T’ levels checked. So - please try to get both nerve function & testosterone checked.
Avatar n tn Patients who have low testosterone levels often have other symptoms also like low sex desire, low muscle mass, erectile dysfunction, poor sleep, difficulty in concentrating, depression etc. You can get the testosterone levels done which is usually done in the morning and the normal levels are between 300-1000 ng/dl. If the levels are around 300, then the treatment is done with IM injections of testosterone given every 2 weeks. You’re not late for the treatment and it can be done at any age.
Avatar m tn If you are thinking of taking extra testosterone in the hope of enlarging your penis, the answer is sorry, no.
Avatar n tn (explains knee problem) is there any signs of puberty? I would post in the pediatic endocrinology expert forum, Dr D. Guy is very good answering this kind of problems.
Avatar f tn My son turned 15 in May. I am concerned about a delay in puberty. He has had pubic hair for 18 months or more but shows no other sign of puberty. I would like to make sure there is nothing wrong with his growth. Is it normal for puberty to take this long to get started?
Avatar f tn However, recently I developed moderate acne and noticed new hair growth at the corners of my mouth and in between my eyebrows. It turns out that i have a mildly elevated total testosterone level but normal SHBG. Could the elevated total testosterone be causing these symptoms and be enough to diagnose PCOS or is my elevated total testosterone in someway linked to my T3 use?
Avatar n tn The Geiers went looking for signs of precocious puberty in the autistic children in their clinic and found about an 80% incicence in their patients. Lupron is a drug known for lowering testoserone levels. It has been to control precocious puberty. The Geiers theorized that if they were able to temporarily turn off testosterone production with lupron, they might be able to release these trapped stores of mercury.
Avatar m tn I went through puberty with more estrogen than testosterone. I am on testosterone injection but it does not solve my ED issue. I am thinking of injections as Viagra does not work any more..
Avatar m tn Well i do think im not producing enough testosterone. For being 20 i still have alot more of puberty in my opinion. Even if i work out with alot of proteins and body building supplements such as creating in pills or drink i didnt gain muscle or strenght at all, i felt weak all the time and gave up after 2 months of everyday workout and no results. My biggest concern is just the inbalanced hormones and low sex drive.
20031418 tn?1488775715 I'm a week late, and I'm hope for my mental health that I'm not pregnant. I'm transgender FTM, but haven't started testosterone therapy yet. One of the possiblities I came up with is high testosterone levels. Since puberty, but face has only looked more like a Cis gendered guy, and I think that's be it. I really don't know all the terminology as I stick with things that go along with my gender and not biological sex.

Avatar m tn Penis size is an individual, relative thing like foot size, nose size, and so on. You could have your testosterone level checked, but you may be better off just getting a checkup from your doctor, if you haven't had one within a year. At that visit, you could bring up any issues, including testosterone level.
Avatar f tn You are right that he is old enough to talk to doctor about intimate private issues.
Avatar f tn When I went through puberty I had little to no testicle growth. My testosterone is in the mid 400s, TSH is slightly raised. I constantly feel weak, very low energy and low sex drive.
Avatar n tn I even have an Adam's apple... I just hope i don't have Hypogondism cuz It's bugging me... it's almost as if puberty didn't hit me completely... but I've been in it for 2 years already... I have to shave a little moustache above my top lip occasionaly but it's not very thick.
Avatar n tn Why the receptors in our penis tissue stop responding so well to testosterone after puberty? Biochemistrily speaking, why can't we simulate the puberty hormonal environment in an adult, even a little, and get a measurable penis growth? I find it very weird that with our current medical technology this is not yet possible, although there is a very high demand for it.
